Mediocre Food at best, service really slow for a small restaurant, evenly priced. Clean and cheerful Inside.

The perfect end to a perfect trip. Honestly, there are not enough words to articulate how happy…read morethis meal and experience made our family, but I'll try. I'm not sure if the bar/lounge right outside the restaurant is part of the dining room, but arriving an hour early to have a perfect cocktail overlooking the lake while deer eat grass and listen to a live string quartet really set the mood for the rest of the evening. Once our reservation time came up, we were promptly seated in the dining room. Dee (from California) was amazing. So friendly and attentive, even with the kitchen delays which was barely noticed with another set of drinks and an appetizer, Escargot Bourguignonne. For entree's, we had Steak Au Poivre, Coq Au Vin, and the kid's pasta. For desserts, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Blueberry Cobbler Cheesecake. All delicious! If we ever get the chance to visit YNP again, this will be #1 on my list to rebook.

We had dinner at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel Dining Room in May 2026…read more Both of us received sub-par main courses given the premier billing of the dining room. Before ordering the scallops, I asked the water if the scallops were good, that I don't like poor scallops. He confirmed they were 3 large scallops, that the scallop dish had improved. In fact, the woman seating us said the same thing when I asked her, that the scallops had improved over past days. Instead, I received 4 scallops that ranged in size from medium, to medium small, to small, to very small. I tried the small scallop and it was very overcooked and rubbery. The waiter agreed the dish was unacceptable and exchanged it for the eggplant dish. So both my partner and I had the eggplant dish. The eggplant was mushy through the majority of it, but not on the edges. Mediocre quality. The gumbo soup was quite good. The onion soup was passable as it had little broth given the quantity of onions and almost no bread. In short, we expected much higher quality main courses at the dining room and it was poor quality. The waiter apologized and offered excuses of supply issues, being open only about a week, and power failures. But we believe the dining room has a captive audience and so does not focus on quality, which is very disappointing. My partner discussed our very poor quality (aka horrible) meals with his friend who stayed in Yellowstone last year. His friends ate at the dining room and also said the food was terrible. The positive is the ambiance of this historic hotel is serene and beautiful.

For the negative reviews, simply understand one is in a busy national park with food designed to quickly be served to a large crowd of people. Canyon Village is one of the larger stops and gathering areas within Yellowstone so have a bit of patience and understanding. Yes it is theme park style food with limited options, I wasn't expecting a James Beard Award meal here. For the wait, had a part of 5 took about 10 mins to get seated for our party. You are provided a buzzer when ready so you can shop the store for gifts or groceries in the mean time. I wasn't very hungry and grabbed chili and huckleberry float which hit the spot for me. Neither item was to write home about, but took care of topping off prior to getting back on the road for some more park adventure. Should it be crowded there is a to go kiosk in which you can order and not wait to be seated. There are other options as well if coffee and a quick snack or hotdog is to your liking the grocery side has that counter. There are also some quick bite sandwiches one can grab on that side as well. Prices are what are to be expected within this venue, but not over the top. Enjoy the stop and experience in Canton Village, just expect crowds and wait times in busy season or depending on time of the day you stop in. Oh plenty of parking available with huge lot for cars and RVs to accommodate, multiple items within the immediate area to include Jr Ranger Center, Education Center, pizza parlor, etc.

After I ordered at the counter, my group found a vacant table in the corner, and our food all arrived within 5 minutes of sitting down! The view of the lake was absolutely beautiful, we came a little after sunset but I can imagine the sunset would have been amazing. The food was very affordable as well, with tacos around the $5-6 mark, and I think 2-3 tacos would be enough for a full meal for most. I tried the fish taco, al pastor, and barbacoa. Being from San Diego... I really did not like the fish taco. The fish was dry rather than buttery and flaky. I wouldn't recommend. The al pastor was very spicy so much so I couldn't taste much else. But I liked the barbacoa one though, if I were to go back I'd just get that one. It is strange that the meat is cubed instead of shredded, but it's ok. I also appreciated that if you ordered a vegetarian taco, it comes in a separate bowl to avoid cross contamination. Overall, I think Grant Village Lakehouse was a convenient, casual dinner spot, and I also understand the challenges of running a kitchen within a national park. I am glad we chose this restaurant to dine at.

One of few venues that would take reservations of this size group. They have a good amount of indoor seating. We sat on the umbrellaed patio, near the musician, just around the corner of the bar from games like cornhole. They were busy, but service was attentive. Many of us had craft beers and cocktails. Everyone was pleased, but i could not list all the beverages for you. We had at least one yummy fresh arugula salad with sirloin cooked-to-order and a lot of flavorful bacon, blue cheese crumbles, green onion, tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and thick "Texas" toast. We shared a number of the many appetizers: Crispy-coated sweet-chili Thai Shrimp were rather small but quite tasty. The tray of nachos was a glorious mess of beans, sauces and crema, mixed melty cheeses, olives, and meat ... i think we got the rich ground "buffalo". The "buffalo balls" were even messier: meatballs in deep gravy over mashed potatoes smothered in sautéed onions and mushrooms. We had "chicken "bites" with two of their yummy flavorings. The soft pretzels and cheese were long thick almost-loaves. And i completely lost track of the mains: several of their loaded burgers and overloaded tacos. The star was the 12oz medium-rare ribeye, topped with herb butter & demi glacé, loaded garlic redskin mashed potatoes, & thick garlic toast. This was a great immersion in great food, drink, ant atmosphere. The $44 ribeye was one of the top-two steaks we had during our trip. (July 2026). Pro tip: every steak is town was good, even the bargains you can find with a little hunting. But be sure to pay a little more once or twice to get the best.

The photos looked amazing, so after we checked in, we drove a few blocks to the place. Parking is limited but we luckily scored a spot. Atmosphere is very cool, bar/restaurant like with sports playing on large TVs throughout. It was kind of warm in there...not sure if they had a working A/C or if it just couldn't keep up with the bodies inside. There was a wait to be seated but not too bad. Maybe 15 mins and the place was packed. We were seated at a bar-like table between the actual bar seating and tables. The waitress was nice and had personality but was a bit stressed out and a little testy after we asked about our food 30+ mins after ordering it. Even the drinks took a long time to be served. I finally gave up and ran to the restroom...of course the food came as soon as I left. It works that way a lot for me. lol The drinks were good - the food was pretty good. Prices are expensive here, but pretty much on par with the rest of the restaurants in town. It's a tourist town in high season and they all know it. We determined not to come back for the next day's meals based on the slow speed of service and try different places in town instead.

The atmosphere hits that perfect Jackson vibe with a modern Western, warm lighting, rustic wood accents, and a fun energy vibe without feeling chaotic. The menu has something for everyone: elevated comfort food, solid steaks, fresh fish, and great shareable starters. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well-executed. The cocktails were creative (and strong in a good way), and the wine list was thoughtfully curated. Service was friendly and efficient even when it was busy, which says a lot during peak ski season. You can tell they're used to handling the resort crowd without sacrificing quality. Whether you're wrapping up a long ski day or just want a fun, reliable dinner spot in Teton Village, Spur delivers.
