If you're looking for somewhere to get beans, this is the place. This is a spectacular roaster, and they do a great job of making their coffee to highlight that. This is the place to be for coffee nerds. I generally drink coffee black, and that is how I have enjoyed it at Red Banner. The cups have great clarity and balanced extraction, and each roast's flavor profile has been presented exceptionally when I have gone. My main criticisms are the following: 1) That there isn't really much seating if I just want to hang out and keep buying coffee all morning while I study and 2) That there's no way currently to get their beans shipped. I understand that freshness is paramount with coffee, but most coffee is rested a couple days after roasting anyway, and I would love to be able to buy Red Banner's coffee beans when I'm out of town. So basically my only complaint is that I don't have the opportunity to spend more money here. read more

When I visited cape a few years ago I didn't really mind a mediocre cup of coffee and went here a few times but when there are so many other good places in the area, this one definitely can go on the back burner. If you're at the farmers market, sure it's convenient bc it's right there and they probably get most business bc of the foot traffic. Came by to get my morning coffee, while in town for business. I always get pour-overs, having become a coffee snob after frequenting just about every town's independently-owned coffee shop in a 3 state area. I was told that they do not do pour-overs, (at least not yet) buy that they have a drip machine that makes the coffee taste just like a Chemex pour-over. "Yeah, right" I thought, while it was being poured. But-----holy crap, it actually did taste exactly like it just came out of a Chemex. I was blown away. First, she hits me with the, "Stop right there at the door! You must have a mask to enter!" No big deal, I grab one from my car; just not the best greeting. I want a large Americano, they only have one size and it only has two shots. But then she explains they can do a bigger cup and add a third shot. Isn't that a "large" after all? Not a huge deal, I usually like 4 shots but I hear their coffee is good. Then I ask for heavy cream because I am avoiding carbs. They only have half-n-half. For those that don't know, that's half fat and half carbs. Not as good as heavy cream in your coffee. After that, I walked. Baristas is right around the corner, they didn't demand a mask and they source their coffee right out of Saint Louis Kaldis coffee. It's delicious!! read more

Stopped here for morning coffee on our drive from Nashville. With all the great reviews our expectations were high. Strike 1: no raw sugar. Dynamite Coffee is the perfect little coffee shop. With a minimalist decor, the coffee roaster and the coffee bar are the high lights of the shop. The roaster is beautiful and the smells of freshly roasted coffee is exactly what you look for in a great coffee shop. The service was great. The person behind the counter walked us through all of their summer special drinks, along with laying out all of the options when it came to other flavors. The lavender latte seemed to be the favorite of the group. The slated Carmel was also very good. Like always, I got the black coffee. It was very good and made very well. I'm so glad this shop is here! I'm from California where there are great coffee shops on almost every corner and this cafe is the closest thing to feeling like home. The coffee and espresso are awesome and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I will admit that I sort of forgot that this place was here for a while (it's small, but it's adorable) and recently started going in more often and the very sweet barista/owner already started recognizing me and remembered what I usually order, which I really appreciate. I've been going to other shops all the time and no one has remembered me and I keep being asked if I'm a SEMO student (the answer is no, I'm old, I'm just short because DELICIOUS CAFFEINE). This coffee shop is what you want: it's small, it's sweet, and it serves great coffee! As a lover of floral anything, the lavender latte had the perfect amount of floral taste and espresso flavor. It was really smooth and it even had sweet latte art on top. They also serve matcha, which is pretty unique around here. Living in New Jersey, I order matcha all the time, and while I didn't try it here, I think having the option is definitely a plus.
