I'm basing my star rating solely off of the poor customer service from the dispatch when I called them last night. My friend had better luck, and albeit I was drinking, doesn't give her the right to be a complete B word. We got off to a bad start because she answered and she spoke so fast, I couldn't understand her so I had to say, "wait, what?" I told her the address I was at, and first she asked East or West, and I wasn't sure and said "east, I think. I'm on 27th st S and Hennepin Ave, in uptown". Then she said "North or South?" and I said.."um.. south? I'm in uptown" She then says "this is your cab not mine, I don't care where they pick you up". Thank you lady, and isn't it your JOB to punch the address into the computer and it will tell you where I am? Frustrated, I hung up. My friend had better luck after she called back (not able to get through to rainbow or blue and white) and she said the address and said south (didn't i just say this?) and the cab was at the house within 5? minutes. It even called her when it was out front. The cab driver was nice, but he did drive extremely fast, and illegally at some point. I appreciated the hustle because it was late, and we were going to NE minneapolis, but it was still $22. I didn't have much money to give him as a tip, but because the lady was so rude from the start, i will try to use a different cab company in the future. read more

Hey. Sunday night call for one of your taxis from Best Western The Normandy downtown. We just finished watching the Vikings game. We wanted a taxi to do our for supper and drinks. Drove us from 8th to 3rd Street . No meter on. Vulgar cab driver. Get there in ten minutes. He looks at at us and says Three no four people. 40.00 !!! My brother in law pays but come on !!! I had reserved a pickup from Lyft and they never showed up. I had an important medical appointment for a disabled adult. I called Red and White and the cab had shown up in less then 15 minutes. There were no buses running to the medical appointment it was so far out. I had called for a return trip and again the driver had shown up in less than 15 minutes. I am switching back to Red and White and not using Lyft anymore! read more

My son and I were leaving Target Field after a Twins game May 23rd and needed a taxi home. A Red and White taxi happened to pull up and the driver asked if we needed a ride. I said yes and we got in. I gave the driver our address which is a couple miles from Target Field (2500 block of Pleasant). As we were on our way, the driver said "I only take cash." I replied "okay." The less than 10 minute ride ended with the driver stating, "$40.00" I asked him to repeat the fair amount, which he again said "$40.00." The exact same ride with Blue and White Taxi company a week earlier cost me $15.00. I will never use Red and White Taxi again. Absolutely gouged! read more

I've had consistently reliable service with Red & White Cabs in the last 3 years I've lived in Minneapolis. I've lived in Uptown where they're based which may have led to better than normal service? I get nervous calling a cab at 5am to go to the airport but they have arrived within 5 minutes each time I've done this. Drivers usually know neighborhoods / good routes and are often friendly. I've stopped calling other companies and they get all my business now. read more

I tried to get a pick up reservation via their online reservation form. I submitted the form, it said thank you for submitting the form. The next morning, I was waiting out in the cold and the cab never came. I called the company where they promptly told me that their website form does not work. Nice to know! So, they sent a cab out telling me it would be 5-25 minutes. 45 minutes later, I called back still with no cab. They told me the cab was 10 blocks away and they would call when it arrived. I went inside, and called back 5 minutes later. While I was calling, I looked out the window and, behold, the cab was sitting on the curb-not calling me! So, my wife and I went down to the cab. The cabbie never got out of the car to help us load our luggage or open a door. He didn't know how to get to Nicollet Mall, which is one of the most well-known streets in Minneapolis and he ran a red light. To top it off, when we arrived at our destination-35 minutes late for work-Our cabbie complained that it was a bad place to unload passengers, told us to hurry, had us pay him, and didn't get out of his cab to help us unload. Please note, that Nicollet Mall is Cabs, police, and buses only. There was no traffic and we didn't hold anyone up. Overall, this was the worst cab experience of my life. The dispatchers were rude, they cabbie was rude, incompetent, and a dangerous driver. There website is non-functional. And I missed my first meeting scheduled for day. If you value customer service, civility, and your safety, NEVER USE RED & WHITE CAB!!! read more

I've tried to use this cab company a number of different times and each experience is worse than the last. I called them last night for a cab and the estimated wait time was 10 minutes, which is fine. I requested a call so that I didn't have to wait on the corner, outside. The cab driver didn't call me until 40 minutes had gone by. I had already walked to my location by the time he called me. A situation prior to that, I called for a cab, was told 10 minutes. Requested a call and none came. I ended up standing outside for 20 minutes - a straight no-show from them. read more

I was just charged $10 to bring my keys back to me that were left in a cab. Mind you: 1) I've been using R&W over other cab companies faithfully for over a decade, 2) I had to call to INVESTIGATE if my keys were in their possession, 3) All of my contact info was attached to my keys (so, they know I had left them, 4) this is 12 hours LATER... Well maybe I was too quick in my original 5 star review. I guess I got lucky the first time. Called again for a cab and was told they'd send one right away. Waited and waited... called back they answered "red and white the wait time right now is an hour". They told me they'd call me when they had one available. I had to get where I was going so I started toward the bus and froze my patootie off along the way, but even after 2 transfers and 45 minutes I still hadn't received a call from R&W before I reached my destination. I guess it's just tough to get a cab in a decent amount of time in this city.I always see them waiting for fares when I'm downtown and I am less than 5 miles from there. Who knows. read more

Called back 10 minutes later and told "oh we have nobody for you" and when asked why I wasn't called (they ask for your number for some reason) I'm told "oh we don't really do that." Wow. Worst experience using a cab company EVER!!!! My driver was terrible at driving, didn't know where he was going, almost got into an accident, driver went 50 mph on a 60, he pressed his breaks so hard my body shifted frontwards, just terrible! Did I mention that he was scared to drive in the snow!?! And it wasn't even snowing outside! I will never use this company again. read more

Whoever the man who is dispatching the calls tonight (Friday, October 9th 2015) needs to be fired. Completely lazy, unprofessional, & incredibly poor customer service. Also my driver #53725 although I'm not sure if it was the vehicle or if it was him m or a combination of both, but I can honestly say one of the worst smelling cabs I've ever been in. I've called red and white many times, most end with me hanging up. I missed the bus and was forced to call a cab company. The dispatcher was extremely rude, yelling at me that they needed an address. The cab shows up and I get in, the cabby doesn't say two words to me but he kept pointing at the door because it was not closed. As we get onto 394 he kept swerving and accelerating and decelerating at random points. His driving was so bad when we were exiting I was honestly scared for my life. Convenient for me as I don't live far from their headquarters. They've always arrived on time, fairly clean cabs, drivers are willing to help you get to where you need in a hurry (speed or take short-cuts etc.) ; Overall not bad for taxi services. read more

I have had a few good experiences with the company, but the last two times I have called them they have said 'Should be just a few minutes', and no one ever came either time. The first instance I called back after 30 minutes, and was told 'it should be just a few minutes'. After another 30, we flagged down another cab. Monday night at SoberFish we called again. Same story 'Should be just a few minutes'. After 35 minutes, my wife hailed a Rainbow taxi driving by. They never called. read more

Forget this company...they have no clue about directions to anywhere. They show up when they want, in whatever POS they can find. If you order vans for 14 they might bring a taxi and a 6 passenger van...how does that work? Better yet, they had one 6 passenger van to transport 14, so we were just suppose to take turns. Again, how does that work. If they pull up, act like you are not waiting for them. It will be the worst experience ever. read more

Thought I had a great experience with this cab company. Reason I took the cab was because I had surgery and couldn't walk great distance so I had a meeting at work and took the cab so they could drop me right at the door of my work and not have to walk in from the distant parking lot. Setup booking the ride online for following day. Was outside early waiting for the cab. Never saw a cab of course looking for "Blue and White" did not know they would have different companies under same. I waited can't say exactly but know over 20 minutes came inside residence and called on land line phone inside residence realized I had left the cell phone on the desk I was outside and didn't want to miss my cab by going for the phone but I waited to my dismay before I came in to call and try to find out if there was a cab coming didn't say I was a "no show" the phone dispatch said something about not going ... background talking not tangible for me to repeat rather confusing conversation new to the world of cab normally if I am able I take the bus or other mass transit, through again nothing said about "no show" and would send out a cab for me. Saw a cab go by the window of residence by time I came around the sidewalk cab was gone and after a few minutes found at the driveway at distance I couldn't walk since surgery I waited started out walking down the parking lot and met me half way so the driver and I went to destination. All was great nice person good music in the car nice ride. Was asked if I had a credit card and used it for this trip not really understanding if I paid on line if or why I needed to pay again. Confused. But I was late for meeting now so I made the payment. Credit card statement has three charges so I asked shouldn't I get refund for having paid for the same cab twice since was the very cab that dispatched for my online booking, only find out I was marked as "no show" and no refund. The new booking cost me another full fee keep in mind this is the same cab that was dispatched for my online request the cab driver did not stop at my residence they drove by and missed me. Thought I had a good experience guess what you don't know will hurt you so I am a no show for lack of communication and paying twice the fee I get it don't use the online app don't book ahead of time just call when need it and stay close to the phone. Call them if they are no show don't let them walk over you when they say not there policy there are circumstances where there is exceptions and sometimes you just need to speak up. read more

After waiting thirty minutes nothing came so we called again and they said they didn't have an order for our address so we place another order and wait again. After another 30 minutes still nothing. Call them back and again they claim to not have an order for our address. Cancel with them and call Blue and White. Best decision. Worst customer service I have had the pleasure of dealing with. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Called for a cab last night to be at our house at a specific time. They said they could not do that so we called closer to the time we needed to leave.They said 5-25 minutes. 30 minutes later, no cab. We called and a very unapologetic dispatcher informed us that someone else took our cab. This is total bullshit because we were in a residential area and no one ever pulled into our driveway. We gave them exact address for pickup. It's not like this was downtown where someone else can grab your taxi. Will never use this company again. Last night my friend and I were downtown Minneapolis and we had hailed a cab from pourhouse and we originally said we wanted to go home but we had changed our plans and asked him to bring us to a different bar instead. The taxi driver, named Sam started getting very aggressive when we asked and told us to pay before he took us anywhere. We let him know that he was going to get paid for his service but not until we have reached our destination. He then pulled the cab to the side of the road and started yelling at us to get out. He physically grabbed my shoulder and my clothing and ripped me out of the cab onto the sidewalk. I hit my back and head pretty hard as it was from the seat of a Kia Soul to the ground. He then drove my friend away with my wallet in the car and went down the block and punched her in the jaw and kicked her out as well. This was probably the scariest incident of my life and I hope no one ever uses this taxi service again. read more

My husband and I needed a taxi following a boat tour when the weather took an unexpected turn and we were unable to walk back to our hotel. We chose Red and White Cab based on the close proximity to our location, which turned out to be a huge mistake. The dispatcher was extremely rude and uncooperative, becoming irritated when I asked for an estimated time of arrival so we could have an idea of when to exit the boat and walk through the the rain to the street. After waiting half an hour and having to take shelter under a park gazebo, I called the dispatch again to reconfirm the address, I was told there was a cab on the way and hung up on. Forty-five minutes later no cab had arrived yet, so we finally we called Rainbow Cab which arrived within five minutes. We attempted to call Red and White to cancel our cab, but they never answered and we never received a call from them, leading me to believe that a cab was never on their way to pick us up. I don't understand how a business can get away with completely ignoring a customer's request for service. Based on other reviews this seems to be a habit of this particular company. What a joke of a business and we've learned out lesson. read more

Want to give them 0 stars. Absolutely terrible experience. They have always been hit or miss, but I use them because I live near their headquarters. Today's experience was a new low, even for them, and I have deleted them from my phone forever. Called and set up a cab to the airport last night, for 7:15 this morning. Was cheerfully told it was all set. Cab did not come and I called at 7:19 to ask about it. The woman who answered was very rude and indifferent, telling me that she just got there two minutes ago and there were three other people who wanted cabs too. When I told her I had reserved the night before she said "I don't know why they took your reservation, they shouldn't have we are too busy and it's hard with the snow." You would think a cab company in Minneapolis would know how to handle the snow, which is when people are more apt to use taxis in the first place. She continued to give me lame excuses, even saying "I just work here, this isn't my company." Could not tell me if a car was on the way. Just as I was about to run to catch the bus, in negative degree weather, the driver called to say he was 7 minutes away. So I waited. 10 minutes later I called him back and he said he was close. 10 more minutes later I called him again and he rudely said he was almost there. 5 minutes later he showed up, grumpy and rude, a grand total of 45 minutes late. Did not get out of the car to help me with my bag or anything. Drove just fine to the airport- weather didn't seem to be a problem, even though the dispatcher woman claimed the weather was terrible. At the airport again made no attempt to help with my bag, I even had to open up the trunk of the car myself. The trip was $18, I only had a $20, he made no effort to make change or offer me a receipt and I surely didn't want to tip him, but since I was now very late for my flight I just left. Will absolutely never use this company again, and neither should you. From now on I will only take public transportation to the airport. I usually do anyway, but it was below zero outside and I didn't want to lug all my winter gear around to the airport. Excellent service and cooperation. We came to Minneapolis as part of the girls volleyball Junior National Championships. Looked at a number of transportation solutions and settled on Red&White. Debbie, the manager, initially spoke to me about our needs and we kept up a conversation back and forth over a week or more as my needs kept changing, until she figured it out for me. We had an account set up, with all fares charged centrally for single billing at the end of the trip, which worked perfectly. We set up pre-arranged pickup times, that they never missed, and for the times where we couldn't pin the pickup down precisely, we had a placeholder which I then adjusted very easily though a cell phone call to dispatch. Cabs were fine & on time, and drivers were generally both courteous, accommodating and friendly. I couldn't ask for more, and Debbie overseeing the whole was a blessing.
