The staff here are so attentive and friendly and polite. They follow all the guidelines for Covid (cleaning, masks, social distancing, etc.) I actually looked forward to going here. When I was checking in my sister two employees saw me but after I had walked back in and sat down in the lobby they were weirdly staring at me for little bit and finally asked if I "had an appointment" or if I was "a patient" after I stared back and made eye contact with the receptionist for a while. I felt unwelcomed when they had clearly saw me dropping off my sister and when other individuals walked in, some who did not sign-in as well, sat down and were not questioned by staff. Maybe instead of staring come and address the question or problem you have with me instead of making me feel uncomfortable and as if I was doing wrong. They have helped me tremendously and I wish I knew about this place earlier when my back pain first began a few years ago. I do a range of treatments with them, including physical therapy, acupuncture, and even cupping. The staff is like family and the atmosphere there is so positive and kind and they make you feel like family. Every single one of them has contributed to my well being. My pain isn't fully gone but they help me get by week after week. Their kindness is enough to bring me back week after week. My appreciation extends also to DR Badday and Annette and the staff at the Irvine branch where I receive separate pain management treatment including steroid injections, and nerve ablations. When I finally spoke to someone on the phone it was Jessica. She seemed like I was bothering her and said she didn't have a referral for me. My employer faxed a referral that day and I called her back about a half an hour later. Jessica said she had 73 faxes to go through and she'd call med back the next day (Tuesday 12-12-23) but she never called. It's 12-14-23 and I'm at a physical therapy appointment at a different place called California Rehabilitation and Sport. This place is great. I did sixteen rehab appointments at the other place and Jessica never called me back.

Also, they kept telling to continue doing the exercises even though I told them I am felt pain (not muscle building). Luckily, I changed to a different Select PT and found another PT that diagnosed my main problem, which is keeping my knees from caving in. I've tried various PTs through my insurance, but this is the first time I invested in PT out of…read morepocket, and it was absolutely worth it. I felt like my body was twisted and unbalanced, but the PTs covered by my insurance weren't able to help me until the issue I had been expressing eventually led to a severe injury where I couldn't walk for about five days. The PTs would give me exercises that I could have easily found through ChatGPT or a simple Google search, and then send me to an aide. When I had questions, the aides often didn't know the answers. They gave me A LOT of at home exercises, almost a quantity over quality, hoping one works. Then I found Dr. Gary! He is very different from a typical PT. He listens carefully to all of my issues (pain and discomfort seemingly everywhere. I'm sure I sound like a hypochondriac ), and then gives me some really odd exercises that I would never have found on my own. Somehow, I always feel better afterward. He goes all the way down to the basics, even teaching me how to breathe to properly engage my core, when to breathe during an exercise, and exactly where I should be feeling each movement. It's not just "here are some exercises, go do them." He makes sure I understand why I'm doing them and what I should be feeling. He also consistently remembers to send me my homework, often with videos. With the other PTs I tried, I had to repeatedly hunt them down to get my exercises, so I ended up having to rely on memory. Dr. Gary also responds to my questions between sessions if I'm unsure about an exercise, which has been incredibly helpful in making sure I'm doing things correctly. What I appreciate most is how much he genuinely cares about learning and thinking critically. I can tell he is constantly processing what he's seeing and what I'm telling him during our sessions and trying to figure out the root cause of what's going on. He tests and retests his hypotheses until my body gives him feedback that he's on the right track. I'm incredibly thankful for Dr. Gary and the care he puts into his work. If you're dealing with something that feels "off" in your body, I truly believe your health is worth the investment. Don't wait until the problem becomes a serious injury like I did because of the limitations of the insurance system. Take the chance! you may be surprised by how much the right PT can help. Dr. Gary is absolutely worth it!

The staff is patient, polite and gentle in a way that made a very big difference for me when I started my recovery journey. Their guidance felt honest--there was zero pressure. After all that, once he was finally taken to the back, he was told he was not supposed to be seen at that location. That should have been checked and communicated before making him wait. Patients deserve basic courtesy, especially when they are new and may already be dealing with pain or recovery. The lack of professionalism and communication from the reception staff was unacceptable. I hope management addresses this so other patients are not treated this way.
