Fantastic CD selection and mostly reasonable prices. I could have spent hours in this place. Has…read morean OK selection of vinyl. This is a small store, but don't let that fool you. To get a huge, huge selection of CDs in this little store, the CDs and artwork have been removed from the jewel cases and put in plastic envelopes. When you buy a CD, the artwork and CD will be put back in a jewel case if you want. In my case, I was travelling and had no room left in my suitcase. Without the jewel cases, I was able to stuff over 20 CDs in my suitcase (and I have plenty at home). The selection is incredible with a wide range of rock music. Lots of rare stuff that I don't see in other stores. Most of the CDs are either $5 or $10. I ended up with over 20 discs for $85. Some of it was stuff that I had been looking for and others were albums I didn't know existed. There is a huge selection of heavy/death metal (but that was not what I wanted). There is progressive rock and jam bands. There is straight ahead rock. The jazz selection is pretty small. We were driving from Niagara Falls to the Buffalo airport and this was just 5 minutes out of the way. I would have spent more time in the store and probably found more CDs to buy if my wife wasn't outside texting me when I would be done. I never buy this many CDs when I visit a record store, even something like Amoeba Records in Hollywood which is one of the biggest record stores in the US.

Great selection of used vinyl and reasonably priced cd's. I love everything arranged in…read morealphabetical order instead of categories. Worth a trip if you are in the area.

Not what one looks for in a HiFi audio dealer where…read morecustomers' audiophile systems often easily run from mid-five digits and into six-digit values. Unfortunately, over the course of one month of back-and-forth questions and answers to and from the owners and/or representatives of Vinyl Sound, this is most definitely a one-star review. Highly surprising from a hi-fi/audiophile retailer, as I've only had one other negative experience in my entire life from a different retailer. My requests were seemingly simple: 1) bearing oil for my Transrotor ZET 3.1 turntable; 2) replacement belts for the turntable, and; 3) a request regarding the possibility of making a cover for my turntable. Over a 29-day period, here is the breakdown, in number of days, of their response times to my various e-mail requests: 1, 5, 8, 0, 0, and finally, after waiting 14 days for a reply, I sent a final e-mail requesting an update but have yet to receive an answer. It's now 22 days without a reply at the time of this review. There are many other dealers to choose from. Select another that's not Vinyl Sound and likely be much more satisfied.
