And if you stick around browsing long enough, he'll tell you incredible stories about famous musicians and his friends in the business. The atmosphere in his store is like no other. Wayne takes pride in the memorabilia he has on the walls and shelves, as he should! Each piece he collects has a story that's worth hearing. The walls are covered in artwork by local artists, concert posters of famous bands who performed locally, and some really fun stuff too, like a drawing by Bono that his friend gave him! Cool Beat has an awesome collection of vinyl. Both new and old and all different genres. The store is super organized and every artist/ record was easy to find. Wayne is always working on getting new music in so always check back in from time to time to find something new. He also sells cds, 45s, posters, and other retro Buffalo/ music related items. His store seriously has a great collection and his prices are extremely fair in comparison to other record stores in the area. He also has a stamp card to get $5 off when you spend $50. All in all, Cool Beat is hands down the best place to come if you truly appreciate music and want to support local business.

If you're looking for the latest brand new pop album; it's not here. If you want that one Rolling Stones album that you grew up listening to, they'll have that for sure. I did find a few albums that I had been hunting for and was happy to get them. I was; however, disappointed that they accept PayPal as payment and no credit cards. Payment terms are not clearly marked or advertised until you walk up to the "counter" and see a small sign asking you to pay via PayPal using a QR code. I don't like this at all. Get a Square and accept credit cards. I ended up paying cash and was on my way. Probably won't be back due to the payment thing unless I see it clearly marked for my convenience next time I roll by.

I found lots of cool records here that I would've never found anywhere else including little 7 inches and old Christmas ones. I love how it's really close by to a lot of other stuff in buffalo, which makes it really easily accessible when going to other places in Buffalo. Everyone here is really nice and the staff is always super helpful when you're looking for a specific record. Overall, a great record store.

I oddly…read moreenough found out about this store through one of the staff I know at Record Archive in Rochester... he mentioned a mutual acquaintance had opened up a shop on Hertel, and I figured I'd check it out. The business is still fairly new, so they are in the process of building up their inventory, but currently the store has an amazing selection of Punk, Metal, (and now to a bit of a lesser extent because of my purchases) Ambient and Experimental music as well. Their prices for new records compared to other shops in the area are a little less expensive, which is a good thing for the wallet (but maybe not so much for the room taken up in the living space). The staff working while I was there Jarid was super friendly, and we discussed quite a bit about some of the ideas they are having to expand upon their inventory, which seems to be geared more toward the genres I discussed earlier, as there really isn't anything else in town that focuses quite as much on those music styles. Overall I had an amazing first shopping experience here, and look forward to coming again soon.
