Record Reunion is a perfect dive record store. Records, CDs, movies, all kinds of used things to buy. The person working the counter was nice and he was very helpful and had good store knowledge. Vinyl was priced fair, I just wish there was a better selection. There is a lot, but not a lot of albums that were impressive. read more

We stopped in on our recent trip to St. Louis I hit a bunch of the local record stores. The have a good selection, not a huge vinyl collection, but decent. They seem to focus more on CDs and other media. I did pick up a Record Store Day release of "Shake Hands With Shorty" by the North Mississippi Allstars at and excellent price. They have a good selection of Record Store Day releases. Nice place and there just a few doors down from Glad Rags, one of my favorite stores in St. Louis. read more

I can't speak for the CD's, Blu-Rays etc. But as a collector of vinyl these guys are WAY overpriced. For example, they had a 180 gram repress I was after for $33 in near mint condition. But also open / not sealed / used. A quick check of Amazon revealed I could buy the same pressing, unopened, brand new for $23. So evidently one of two things are the case. Either they're taking advantage of vinyl buyers, or not bothering to look up typical prices on Amazon, eBay, Discogs etc. I spotted a few records I already own but a few dollars more than I payed for them. Selection of used records was kinda poor if you're looking for popular bands. The cardboard slat for a band would be there but not single record, or only one title. Worth checking out if it's not far from you. But I would not drive a significant distance as I did. read more

Kate's review is spot-on with her review, so I'll do my best to add some minor facets to her already awesome review! Personally, I find the NEW CDs to be on the higher side checking in around 12 or 14 bucks, but I come here to find lost treasures and rarities. Case in point, I bought a Jimmy Buffett live in concert CD for a friend who is all about "Parrot head" and he said he never heard of the CD. The CD was 7 bucks. Boo-yah! So, that's saying something. I've bought many jazz and trance discs here and the cds and booklets are pristine. They have an awesome local music section and a rather large industrial/death metal section as it takes up the entire back wall! I guess St. Charles is really into their death metal, go Rigor Mortis! If rap is your thing than you maybe disappointed. If you want to fill in your "Wu Tang" or Tupac cd collection than you'll be fine but newer offerings are weak. If Jazz is your thing, as I am, than you'll walk out with something on the cheap. In fact, I bought a Coltrane offering with his rendition of "Greensleaves". These places are dying and it's rather sad, so if you need that mixture of old vinyl, musty dusty, and relics of a bygone era than come here. Be gentle if they don't have what you want, after all, Best Buy it's not, but it will fill your hipster karma bank. read more

This is a really nifty little CD shop in St. Charles not too far from I-70. Sean and I came here the other night after trying to go to Game Trader. (BTW Game Trader now closes on Monday's....don't make the same mistake we made!) He had mentioned going there once or twice before (to CD reunion) but I'd never been before so decided to check it out. Wow. It's got a pretty decent selection of CDs (both new and used), vinyl, vinyl players and accessories, DVDs, VHS, and other misc stuff. I found a CD I wanted for about $6.99 which I figured would still be more expensive than Amazon but I looked it up and it was only a dollar off so I figured heck, why not, I'd just have to pay shipping online anyway and it would cost about the same if not more online. That's always a rare happening since Amazon is pretty competitive price-wise. I try to support the small guys when I can but if it's a $10 difference, or something, it's hard to say no to Amazon, lol. But on average I saw the CDs ranging from $2.99 for older stuff to $6.99 for newer-ish stuff, to $12.99 for brand new stuff. Not too bad. The new-est of new stuff is right in the front of the store where you first walk in. All of the CD and DVD cases are empty so if you want to buy something you have to take it to the front desk and the woman will go through the racks to get you your discs and put them in the cases...be patient because it might take a while to do this since they don't really have much of an organization going on but that's OK. My BF got 3 trilogies and it only took her about 5 minutes or so to find all 9 discs for him, lol! She's really helpful, btw. I forget her name but she was really pleasant--made conversation and even went in the back to sort through stuff to help us find movies we were looking for. Oh and they've also got a little listening station thing so you can test-drive an album before purchasing. He walked out with the LOTR Trilogy, Die Hard Trilogy, and Back to the Future trilogy for only $35something after tax. She had a deal going on where if you bought two movies you got one free, and those boxsets totally counted! That was pretty cool, I must say. Oh and--they have a soda machine that looks like it's from the '70s in the front of the store too! But sadly it's broken. I really like this place...I wish it wasn't so far away from us but I guess we can visit there again next time we go to Game Trader (or try to anyway, lol.) I like it because it's Vintage Vinyl without all of the hipstery pretentiousness and it doesn't reek like incense there either. Although it does smell kind of musty. But in a good, nostalgic, way. I mean, like I wasn't sneezing every two seconds or anything. If you're in the area, I suggest you stop here! read more

This has been a favorite of mine for fifteen plus years. The workers are very knowledgeable and helpful. The owner is the best of the best; a real class act! If they don't have what you're looking for, ASK! More likely than not, they'll find it for you. The new CDs are on the pricey side, but come on!! This is the little guy, they can't sell brand spanking new CDs at below cost like Best Buy can! I'll gladly fork over the few extra bucks to keep stores like this up and running. They do keep all discs behind the counter to prevent theft, and I sure don't mind the extra few minutes it takes to get my merchandise. Give this store a shot. Seriously, you won't be disappointed! read more

Been coming here many, many years since it was called Record Reunion... Cliff (the owner) is a really good guy, and they own Glad Rags a couple doors down in the plaza as well. Great selection of rare and obscure stuff, and they can order most things. Also, they are actually fair with what they pay when they buy your CDs, Records, DVDs, etc. read more

I just really like going somewhere and people know what they're talking about. I had to replace my needle for my turntable. An adapter was ordered, and Phil kindly installed it for me. I never would've been able to do it myself, which honestly would've resulted in me not purchasing the item. Great knowledge and service. read more
