I was afraid of that, so I just bit the bullet and bought my new Dell PC from him. He transferred all my stuff from the old PC to the new PC, wiped my old PC clean, and took it away, to be donated at Xmas time to the needy. Mo said there are more needy families in the area than I could imagine. He asked me if I had backed up all my files. Ummm, nope; just the words 'The Cloud' scare me, and, although I was very careful bitd about backing up my work files, MY stuff didn't seem that important, until Mo reminded me that I said I probably had other documents that should be backed up if my PC got hit by a bomb. He went back to his store and backed my old PC files onto a thumb/flash drive, (or whatever it is called these days) and I picked it up from him today. I am struggling a bit trying to learn the new PC with Windows 11, but Mo said I could call him anytime I needed help. He wasn't at all snarky and superior-acting about my lack of knowledge, but was very kind and patient. I am thrilled to have found someone trustworthy to help me. I have friends who have been hacked and lost almost everything, so I am always very nervous about security. When I explained that the phone had not been backed up recently and asked if there was any way to transfer information off it, the employee told me the only way was to pay $100 for a "temporary screen" so that I could back it up before getting a replacement phone. I understand that the phone should've been backed up in the first place, but I wasn't aware of the possibility of the phone being completely inoperable once they started working on it. Unfortunately I lost some pictures of a recent vacation and the employees assured me the only way to retrieve them was to pay the $100. I ended up turning down the option and losing the pictures but the whole process was very frustrating overall.
