Went to 4-7 year old Bjj class…read more. and a Krav Maga class.. unfortunately we did not make it through either class.. as it was a mixed Age group and there were 12 year olds in both classes...they also mix kids who have been there for years with new students.. the topics discussed is also not fitting for a 4 year old either. as they were obviously meant for the older students in class.. As a new student they were not welcoming at all, The instructor actually said to my 4 year old son "if your scared go sit down with mommy." At his first class! Makes no sense for him to speak about bullies and yet he's bullying my 4 year old.. At the Krav Maga class My son was told to punch and kick.. was never taught how to so he got confused..but then he was told to sit down again.. The classes are also very large cause they want to pack as many students in as possible so the students spend most of the time sitting...there's also no room for the parents to sit and watch either..

The instructors are among the best I have ever experienced--welcoming and super helpful with new students. There are tons of classes to choose from, and most importantly--at convenient times! Both my kids also takes the kids Krav Maga class with Sensei Rich and they love it--they are learning discipline, respect and self-defense. My daughter has had some bullying incidents at school in the past and I love how the class has built confidence and the skills to stick up for herself.

I remembered my son going to UTC as a child. The people were always friendly and patient. I decided to sign up. It's always been a dream of mine to study some sort of marital art. Not for self defense but for the discipline and fun. Master Kwak has delivered on all levels. Even though I'm a beginner he takes the time to work with me and encourage me. I truly appreciate the smaller classes and the fact that they pay close attention to every child there regardless of their skill level / age. Jason (the owner) is extremely accommodating and understanding. He did an amazing job with the coaches that he selected to work at Funk! The first deal of 3 for 30 was a good intro package, and just like other fitness places, they want to make sure that they get you to sign up, and make sure you pay, and sometimes it can feel a bit pushy. But that is their job, to bring money to the place, and the expansion with the company means that people are signing up, staying and paying for memberships. Personally I like the credit system. You pay the fee. Get the credits. Book your classes. When you run out of credits you can reup if you choose. No membership and monthly fee Depends on what system you want to do. Otherwise, I'll keep coming back because I enjoy the place!
