Awesome gym! I stopped in here while in the area for a wedding and had time to kill a few days…read morebefore because my fiance was int eh bridal party. I had some gear in the car so I googled bjj gyms in the area and this game up. Bunch of stand up guys (no pun intended). Everyone was super friendly and open to train. Being a visiting student from another gym you usually have the 'it feels like there is a target on my back' feeling. It was the total opposite. Everyone trained controlled and were super fun to get to work with. Both instructors trained with me which was unusual. Most places you don't see the black belts rolling with students and it is rare you will see them roll when a visiting black belt comes for fear they might lose in front of their students. I rolled with Joe and Alex. Both awesome instructors and both super talented. I had a great time and learned a new reversal that I hadn't seen before. Awesome school/awesome experience. I live 300 miles away and I wish they were a lot closer. I would recommend the gym highly for novice through advanced. I didnt get to see the class because it was just ending but they had a large kids program and the coaches really seemed to know how to work and communicate with the kids well for the limited time I saw them together, finding good kids instructors is hard so if you have kids this looks like a great choice to try out.

I would not be exaggerating to say that L.I. Ninjutsu Centers and Shihan Allie, both changed (and…read moresaved) my life. More than once. To be honest, an online review cannot do justice to everything I learned and gained from my training here. I could write a short book about it. Put simply, if you train hard, dedicate yourself, trust the lessons, and stick it out, you will transform your life in ways you simply cannot imagine. My only regret is that I wish I could have started training as a child, because I was often bullied and picked on, and the discipline, confidence and focus I gained would have benefited me even more. If you are a parent, I would not hesitate to say that enrolling your child/children at this school would be one of the best things you could ever do for them.

When I attended this excuse for a school, I came to notice that for the most part of the class he…read moretaught us how to do cartwheels, forward rolls, backward rolls and dive rolls; I could have went to a jungle gym. The little amount of time spent on what supposed to be self defense moves failed when I went to a real martial art school. The instructor had us do reactionary drills, and environment simulation (no mind), where you randomly get a grab or a controlled punch or tackle to have your body to automatically respond to it, his maneuvers failed in a the real world simulation. And to add; no real sparing. There's no head contact or "trapping" blocks involved. How is one going to know how it feels to get hit when engaged in soft sparing. Dont ever sign a contract with king Allie, who thinks he's god's gift to the world. He will take you to court and sue you. He sued me for a lousy 400 dollars. He is also freaky. When he heard that I went to train elsewhere he had "one of his associates" come and spy on me. He left a threatening message on my answering machine, and on the phone when I spoke to him. He threatened me with blackmail. He told me he will contact my new instructor and bad mouth me if I dont pay the 400 dollars. He boasted in so many word that he knows everybody in the local martial art community, and he will ruin my reputation and talk bad about me. The threat failed because he previously spoke to my instructor before the shakedown and threats. My new instructor laughed. I unfortunately trained there for 2 years before I had enough of cartwheels, dive rolls, acrobatics, and holding a wooden sword in my hand for 10 minutes.

I honestly would not recommend doing business with this fitness club. The billing practices are…read moreVERY deceitful. I also noticed that a lot of the positive reviews are from people connected to the business including their own instructors, the client success manager and close friends of the owner Sarai. So it's not a fully honest representation of actual customer experiences. I'd also be careful with the referral deals and "free session" offers. Those offers only apply if you agreed and paid to a certain amount of classes or committed to their annual membership. Also, their billing terms are NOT explained clearly upfront. If you look through the other negative reviews, I realized many people had similar experiences with this business..unclear agreements and unexpected charges showing up later. Based on my experience, I would not trust this business. I just hope this can help someone else. If you ever take a class here you will notice Sarai locks the door during sessions because another person who was a victim of her scamming continuously showed up to speak one on one with her however the owner never showed face to that individual. The funny thing is that they will respond to this rating saying "we have no record of you attending here" but clearly it's an anonymous review. But anyone else reading this, it's a genuine customer review of this fitness club.
