Questions would come up and I'd either get no response or something super vague days later. After a while, I just stopped asking and hoped nothing went wrong, which isn't exactly comforting when real money is involved. Once Chambers took over, that changed pretty quickly. Now when I have a question, I ask it and I get a real answer. Not days later. Not after following up multiple times. Just a normal, timely response like you would expect. It sounds basic, but it made a huge difference. What really stood out to me was how approachable they are. I've asked about lease stuff, tenant situations, random landlord questions, even things I probably should already know. I never felt rushed, brushed off, or made to feel dumb for asking. There were also times I reached out about things that weren't urgent at all or weren't technically their issue yet. They still helped me think it through and gave honest input. That was unexpected and genuinely appreciated. At this point, I don't feel like I'm guessing anymore. My priors manager's communication was terrible and to make things worse they were also unapologetic and unprofessional. I think the latter may have actually pissed me off more. After my frustrating experience, I spent a lot of time researching for a better property manager. After interviewing Kendra, I decided to switch to Chambers, and the difference has been unimaginable. Kendra and her team have been nothing short of amazing. They are incredibly professional, responsive, and genuinely make me feel valued as a client. Kendra's communication is excellent, she's quick to respond and always keeps me informed. The level of service she provides has given me peace of mind, something I desperately needed. I also appreciate having Chambers PM, specifically Kendra, to serve as a resource. My other properties are in Oakland and Walnut Creek, which is currently out of their service area, so I self-manage those rentals. And any time I have question about landlording or just need a second set of eyes on a tenant application, Kendra is willing to offer her expert advice, even though those properties aren't being managed by Chambers (yet! when/if they come to the Bay, those properties will be managed by Chambers.) My tenants are also much happier now. Kendra doesn't waste any time finding reliable tenants to fill vacancies whenever I may have one and her attention to detail has made property ownership stress-free. I feel very comfortable reaching out to her whenever any issues arise because I know she'll handle them promptly and effectively. The Chambers' team are a wonderful group who are truly engaged with their clients. Kendra's informative, has great communication skills, and goes above and beyond for her customers. However, my biggest concern is that WE HAVE NO HEAT (it's been about three weeks now). IT IS 31 DEGREES OUT THIS MORNING. They sent out a company that they've had issues with before over a week and a half ago. You would think that no heat would concern someone but it doesn't seem like it does at at. They gave us a space heater after we "complained" for the 5th time but it is completely useless. So, I guess we will put on two layers of clothes and four blankets while the property managers sleep soundly in their own warm homes. The only reason I am recommending this company is because most interactions with staff have been polite and they did take care of the other issues quickly. Other than that I am highly disappointed. While I was away at SERE (good times) they gave the property to someone else despite multiple phone calls ahead of time coordinating with their office staff. Then the manager Norma said I was at fault and refused to refund my application fee. I explained that this is a small community and that is not a great way to treat Navy people. I was really hoping they would make it right and I politely requested they at least refund the fee, nothing. The manager said "they would not be doing that" and said she's not worried about their reputation. Do not make the same mistake I did!

They obviously do not know or care to learn how things work in the realty business. Here is how it works: 1) The customer makes a request to the property management company. 2) The property management company sends the request and cost of the process to the owner. 3) The owner can choose to pay to have it fixed or simply choose not to. She stated, "because our credit did not qualify we were most likely to cause damage to the home". When I tried to talk to her further she interrupted me and just kept saying " no, no you do not qualify and I am not going to sit on this phone all day telling you, you do not qualify, I am not making any deals with you, I don't make deals with people who have horrible credit". She was very rude, demeaning, and made several discriminatory remarks towards me. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a rental property company.
