First let me say I don't post on Yelp. So I've heard stories of them not posting the reviews if…read moreyou're not Avid poster so maybe this will get seen.
My complaint is about SDAR, not just Rancho Bernardo but in general.
My email inbox is full of event announcements and all kinds of announcements from SDAR, all of which cost money, and I get recorded messages from them about ways to save on membership dues, all kinds of incentives to pay early. I'm not really interested in paying orally, I'm really interested. I don't get one email or recorded message saying dues are due on this day. Nothing. Then I go to login one day to my mls in this disabled. I call, thank you for your patience, you're in the queue, call number 8. After 10 minutes, call or number 7. I hang up. I call again, thanks for waiting you're in the queue, if you like to leave a message so I'm will call you back. Two messages later and two days later, nothing.
I called again. Thanks for waiting here in the queue, number 5 in line, I wait it out, get through to an accountant type, takes my credit card, pays my dues, not one announcement again about dues being due on a certain date, not one voicemail message, but lots of late fees. I tell that to the guy and he tells me, well sir, you said you were getting lots of voicemails about discounted dues, that should be your clue. Maybe he's right. I don't think it would bother me as much if I didn't have so many freaking spam emails from them and so many unsolicited voice mail is from them offering me discounts for early payment of dues, but not one mention of a due date. I'm sure I could check it more and babysit it more but I figure if they're going to spam the hell out of me with all kinds of income-generating emails, they could also, as a courtesy, since I'm a proud member, do me a favor and at least send me a bill?
And I forgot this parked. Went to the website, click on the link that says pay dues. It asked me the login. I tried to login. Invalid credentials. Try multiple times. Invalid credentials. Well, maybe I forgot my password? So I click on the forgot password link. Takes you to a page that says this will not work if your email is not updated in the system. I know my email works because I have about 100 emails from them spamming me. So I put in my email address and they say thank you, please wait 5 minutes for an email message with your password in it. I've waited 4 days. I've requested my password be sent to me multiple times. So I can't even log into the website and pay my dues there, and all my late fees, and reinstatement fees, don't forget. I am actually forced to call them, and sit and wait in their queue for 20 minutes at a minimum. Oh well, it's been real fun. I'll check later today and to see if there member profile page allows me to set email preferences or if I'm just forced to receive all of their spam. Can't wait!
