We loved their metrics and research of comps and knowledge of our market. They adapted immediately with all of the extra rules and precautions that came alone with Covid-19 issues (limited number of people in our home at one time, signed attestations of health and well being before being "qualified" for a showing, etc.). The use of Facebook to record our open house was excellent in any situation, but especially with a public health emergency) as it could be seen my anyone, any time, as many times as desired. Also, the 3-D tour was just as cool as it was helpful for interested buyers to see the entire property, 24/7, and even do measurements! Susan was superb in dealing with the appraiser. They both offered very helpful advice about managing the multiple offers and in negotiations. We were kept in touch with in real-time and the app the used was very helpful as well. They are both are very trustworthy, communicated clearly, responded immediately to all calls or texts and really held our hands when we needed support! Ethical, professional, highly recommended. She was an absolute delight and a great representation of the rest of her firm. She was very responsive to any questions and concerns my roommate and I had (less than 1 hour after any text/call/email). She also guided us through the application process, making it clear and easy, and was more than understanding of our unconventional income. We're both college students making most of our money in summer internships and part-time jobs, so this understanding was SUPER important for us.

Miller tells you to make a portal request (that also goes ignored). They ended up blocking my number when I simply asked for my parking remote deposit back. It has been over a month since the end of my lease, and they never returned my money. Only after I posted a Google review, they said the parking remote was broken. How would I have moved my car out of a gated parking spot without a functioning remote? When living there, I had dirty water filling up my sink and overflowing onto the wooden floors due to a plumbing issue related to another unit in the building. It took Miller two weeks to send a plumber to fix the issue. I was putting towels down to avoid damage to the floors but the water was non-stop. I was washing my dishes in the tub for two weeks. As seen in the attached photos, I warned them that there would be inevitable water damage from this. I quickly noticed the water damage due to their delay in fixing the plumbing issue. I documented this in the portal with pictures. The portal request, texts, calls and emails went unanswered for months. When I finally got ahold of Andrea Miller on the phone, she told me that the water damage was my fault! She told me to contact my renters insurance, saying the repair was my responsibility! When I demanded flooring contractors to inspect the damage, the contractors laughed and said this was fully the responsibility of Miller management. The damage to my flooring was fixed TEN MONTHS after the plumbing issue. My rent was even raised during this time. See photos attached with dates to het a glimpse of how you will be ignored as a tenant. My lease over October 31st, and when I contacted them to return my deposit for the parking remote/ keys that I returned, they BLOCKED my number! Avoid this management nightmare at all costs.

Cawley Chicago Management managed the office space that our company leased from May, 2008 until…read moreMay, 2022 (14 years). Despite a few hiccups with the 70s-era HVAC (baseboard heating, and many, many days when the temperature in the office hovered in the 90s), we were happy in the space. Until our lease was up and it came time to leave. We were told that prior to vacating the space, we were responsible for removing a supplemental AC unit in our server room. The unit was there when we moved into the space in 2008 - in fact we built our server room around the existing unit to keep our equipment cool (especially on the 90 degree days when the main building AC was not working). We informed Cawley that the unit was not ours, we did not purchase it, and we were not responsible for removing it. They refused to listen to us. We asked them for proof that the unit was indeed ours, which of course they could not provide. We of course appealed to the business owner - KMMRD LLC of Naperville, IL, but the owner - who owns multiple buildings in the area - would not intervene with his property management company since it was going to cost him money. Prior to leaving, we pulled a service tag from the unit which showed that it was serviced prior to May, 2008 when we moved in. The HVAC company (Atomatic) also confirmed that the unit had been there prior to May, 2008. To no avail, Cawley informed us that they could remove the unit for us for $2,250. To make a long story short, we just last week received our security deposit from Cawley, minus $2,861.36, which is what they charged us for removal of the unit which was not even ours. This is the way you treat a good, loyal tenant who was never late with the rent payment in 14 years? I'm sure there are many decent landlords and property management companies who do value their tenants, but KMMRD LLC and Cawley Chicago Management absolutely do not. Lessor beware.
