I recently dealt with Real Page, I applied at a apartment complex and was denied because of a debt to another apartment( I don't have a debt to another apartment) I pulled my credit and contacted the apartment that I "owed" and they had no knowledge or amount due. When I approached real page the suggested I file a dispute and request a disclosure form. I have. They are so slow I have been denied at the apartment I applied for. I don't believe real page has inaccurate information. BE WARNED!When applying for a apartment ask what company they run their credit though, if it's real page prepare yourself for a potential hassle. read more

If I could give this company less than one star I would. As an agent I work with many clients sending certificates. This company will change requirements depending on who you talk to. If you are a company looking to use them, so somewhere else. They will just give you a bad reputation. They seem to make it harder for contractors to get paid and will do whatever to delay everything. I have not dealt with a company that made it harder for someone to get paid. read more

I am very upset me and my daughter lost everything in a fire I'm a single mother I have a career job and I make 4 to 5 times the income required for a property I have a clean record I am 26 years old I have been building my credit since 18 I have absolutely no negative marks I don't even have rental history long enough for negative history my prior landlord I was with him since I was 18 I always paid him on time never had an issue I provided the company with my good references with my current landlord which I have only due to the fire relocation. Since last August I have calculatedly saved every single dime to buy my daughter a complete bedroom set in a room we are stuck in a studio apartment and I finally found a suitable place for us in the middle of a housing crisis since the pandemic there is not much available in my city I applied for a perfect apartment that is suitable for the both of us and I was really happy knowing that I was going to get approved because I have a good credit score I've maintained a good credit score I don't have negative rental history I am a good tenant and I have a good references long story short the company told me that they use a third-party person to screen the application which is what they base their decision off and it happens to be Leasing desk a.k.a. real page! I am completely upset they are extremely pathetic I requested a copy of my report and they are telling me it will take five days to get to me and the meanwhile anybody could swoop the apartment up that I had in mind and it could be a longer process just to see if the unit will be available by then so I can have them correct any inaccuracies I am completely upset I am very sad and I am pissed I asked that they expedite the report I still have not received it I am looking to see just exactly what is on this report read more

This is one of the most incompetent companies I have ever dealt with. They have requested an insurance document from me 7 times over the past 60 days and still cant figure out if it is the correct document even though it is exactly what they requested. The company is an embarrassment of incompetence and is just a useless way for corporations to shift the expense of vendor compliance to their vendors rather than hiring a competent internal employee. What a waste. read more

I was denied my apartment application. I have never been denied. I have never been late, I have never missed a payment. I have an excellent credit rating. I called my past apartment complex residences both who have emailed verification they have been happy and had no outstanding issues. I have called realpage 3 times each asking me to fill out information to process the dispute (one for verification, one for dispute, one for report). I still have not heard back on what is going on. read more

I give 1 star and I take it right back. I recently applied for an apartment and due the screening report from Leasingdesk/ RealPage service I have several filed judgments through court in an apartment complex that I never leased with applied for nor lived in. My close relative lived there and currently lives there, Our names are closely the same yet still very different. I may have used her mailing address but that is it that is all. They have posted multiple cases/ public record information wrongfully to my name. I have sent all the information needed to verify that the information that they have posted is not mine as well as leases and bills that were mine and current for some of the dates thathere were posted on the cases. I have sent them information that puts a name and face on the information that they are saying is mine. I have received a statement saying that something was removed but it was not the information in question. I don't have the money to keep getting wrongfully denied of housing and considering seeking a lawyer or a judge to further figure out the issue because I have given them everything they need to rectify the situation and they are holding up my process A single mother with two children we need a place to stay already moved out of my old place and can't go back. This is really keeping us homeless. This needs to be addressed because my family needs and deserves it to be. Okay!! So after a couple weeks of calling and waiting I finally got the solution to my problem fixed! Although it felt like forever it was only a couple of weeks and they removed all the incorrect information from my file and I received the information via email. I'm happy and pleased although I don't change my rating because it was a case of mistaken identity and over looked information that was wrongfully attached to my file and I had to call and call to get it removed as well as prove who I am and prove that the information didn't belong to me and be denied on an application and have money taken from me. Very unfair!! But life's not fair I know and see. read more

I recently applied for an apartment that uses real page screening for background checks. I was denied to to balance for a rental property. I advised the Apartment complex that the debt wasn't mine and was currently disputing it with the credit bureaus. Complex advised me to send form stating dispute which I sent. Apartment stated since real page denied me to send them the same info so the apartment manager could override the denial. So frustrated because realpage just said there giving me 30 days to provide proof of the dispute. I don't understand why the apartment complex accepted the form that was sent over but realpage won't give the ok to allow the apartment manager to approve me. I sent copy of receipts of debt has been paid with ZERO balance. I really need this approved due to me relocating to the Dallas area in a couple months its already difficult trying to handle this issue from out of town. This is not the way I wanted to be welcomed to a new city. read more

Add me to the list of declines from misinformation. I just got off of a 45 minute call that I fear will not get anything corrected in time to allow my application to process accurately and approval to move into the home we've chosen. The information they gave me seems to be almost completely erroneous. How are they still in business and why would property management companies use them? How does anyone ever get approved when most of the info they use seems made up? I fully expected a clerical error and to be told they had used someone elses credit report. I certainly can't wait for 30 days for them to discover a massive error on their part. I will have to move onto another property management company and will be expressing my complete disgust in using a company that doesn't seem to even attempt to get accurate information. I can assure you I will verify with any other companies that they don't use Realpages leasing desk. read more

My apartment uses RealPage to manage tenant payments. And I'm sure they pay a lot of money to RealPage to use their service. What's so awful about using RealPages is that they still passes on a $33 fee for me JUST FOR TO PAY MY RENT ONLINE USING THEIR SERVICE. Why are you charging me a $33 fee to use the service my landlord pays you for? This fee is 100% greed on the part of RealPage. If i could give this place a negative star I would. I was denied today for an apartment lease I applied for. I was told by the property manager I was denied because of an "unpaid balance" on a prior property I rented at. They also told me they couldn't tell me what property it was from. As surprised as I was, I went to my credit report..... Nothing was found on the report which wasn't surprising.... I called the manager back and questioned this "unpaid balance" At this point they gave me the prior property. This was so factually incorrect, I went right to the prior property over lunch and questioned this "unpaid balance" The property manager at my prior residence was dumb founded and nothing in her system claimed I had an unpaid balance. She wrote a letter saying the "unpaid balance" was incorrect and that I had a zero balance with this property. After wasting half my day getting this documentation I submitted a dispute through Realpage. They called me back within a few hours and explained to me they would have to send the documentation to my prior residence for them to confirm this was accurate. The rep from Realpage explained this process could take up to 30 DAYS! I'm suppose to move from Minnesota to Florida within 2 weeks. Don't ever apply for a rental property if they use Realpage. WAIST OF TIME, WAIST OF MONEY!!!!! Mind you i'm a veteran with a son under 2. I hope I can find a rental before I make the move to Florida. read more

Help!!! I'm a student at UC Berkeley (Cal) and I applied for an apartment with my dad as a co-signer but was denied without just cause. My dad is a certified public accountant and has never been denied a loan or lease application for anything in his life because of his punctual skills when it comes to personal finances, an out of this world annual income, and excellent credit. The folks over at realpage told my father and I that our application was denied due to an outstanding balance not being paid on an apartment my older brother got many years ago, which my dad signed for. Shortly after contacting the manager of the apartment complex, the one that realpage claimed my dad had an unresolved outstanding balance for, they explained to me that not only did my dad not owe them any money, in fact they refunded him some money in the final statement because he had overpaid. Upon realizing the mistake made on realpage's end, my father and I filed a dispute with a copy of said final statement via docusign as soon as we could, and it has been more than a week and have heard no reply via email or otherwise. I have reached out to realpage multiple times over the phone and have only been met with cryptic, borderline salesman rhetoric when I try to get a feel for the time table of these disputes since I have a fixed move-out date. This experience has been extremely disheartening because I have been nothing but transparent and proactive on my end, to say the least, and realpage hasn't done anything to try and meet my dad and I half way here and get this dispute resolved. I have never attempted to lease an apartment before this experience, and call me naive but I was under the assumption that eligible candidates with squeaky clean credit history looking for an apartment would be welcomed with open arms. I COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG! In short, realpage denied my application under false pretenses and have been extremely unreliable and unproductive when it comes to getting this dispute resolved. In the meantime, I am stuck living in an extremely unhealthy dorm room with exposed asbestos because of a mistake made on realpage's end and I'm completely out of the loop and out of control of the outcome which means I can't move out until this is resolved. I am basically secreted between a rock and a hard place, and after getting a chest x-ray yesterday was told I have an acute respiratory infection, thanks in no small part to the exposed asbestos in my dorm room. If anyone from realpage is reading this review please help me resolve my dispute so I can get out of a toxic living situation. I still have not heard back on what is going on. This is going to end up costing me thousands of dollars. I am extremely disappointed!! The case # of my dispute is SF05619585 read more

Real Page is the absolute worst screening/vetting company I have ever come across or even heard of. They gave terribly wrong information to my son's prospective apartment complex (about me, as the guarantor). Within a matter of hours after receiving the erroneous report, I sent Real Page official documentation unequivocally showing the report was incorrect. A representative at Real Page said he would "expedite" the review of the dispute. That was over three business days ago. I don't know what is more shocking: Real Page's terrible reporting or the apartment complex's relying on Real Page for screening! read more

So I just found out that I was denied by an apartment due to criminal and other public records... This is very surprising as I have never been arrested nor charged with anything in my life. After researching this online I have come across so many examples of this type of mistakes. This is highly unacceptable. I am moving out of state soon and if this negligence causes me to not get this apartment I will be highly upset. I really hope that someone takes the initiative to get this fixed in a timely manner. read more

Reading the reviews from this company, I can see that there is a high level of incompetence with them and I am not entirely sure why rental agencies continue to use them. I recently found an apartment that I loved after searching endlessly for months. Yesterday I received a denial stating, Rental history unsatisfactory or insufficient, credit history unsatisfactory, and fraud alert. I requested a copy of the consumer report and saw numerous errors resulting from their screening. Concerning the rental history, their own report stated that I have no evictions, however they only verified rental history with the complex that I am seeking to move from that I have only lived in for 10 months and completely ignored the past 3 other apartments that I have had in my name and left in good standing. Of course if you only verify a 10 month rental, then the rental history would be insufficient. Concerning my credit history, they noted that I have a derogatory mark on my credit for an account that is currently open and in collections, although it is clearly listed with Equifax that the account is closed and I have NO accounts in collections? Like do I have to do all the work for you?! Where do you locate this false information that you use to deny people and affect their livelihood. Also, I had to use a family member as guarantor who placed a fraud alert on their account to protect against suspicious activity. This individual was never contacted to verify if their information could be accessed or not. I called numerous times and was told that they do not handle fraud alerts yet you deny someone based on something you do not handle? I disputed the issue and was sent an email back that only noted that I do not owe a balance with the property I currently have a lease with. This was already clearly shown in the consumer report and was not the issue as to why I disputed. This is affecting my ability to be accepted and I need it resolved as soon as possible. read more

Like everyone else's reviews, I applied for an apartment and was denied because of a "Criminal and other public records unsatisfactory" reason. I've never been arrested and have zero criminal history and perfect credit. I just relocated here for a new job as a Senior VP and have never been denied on a rental in my life. No one would tell me what the findings were but I'm able to request the disclosure that will take 3-5 days. Not sure how I can be denied in 35 seconds but it takes 3-5 days to tell me why? I filed a dispute right away and called them directly and again was given no advise or help only that they would expedite the process. Now I am out the application fee and it is my responsibility to resolve the issue if I want to move into this building, or any other building that uses real page. Unreal read more

Update....After posting my initial review, I was contacted by Ms. Paige. She took the necessary steps to rectify the situation and for that I am eternally grateful. The inaccurate information was removed from my report in less than 24 hours. The property that initially denied me was contacted by LeasingDesk and I was approved the same day for my apartment. I changed my rating to 5 stars because customer service of that magnitude can't get any better. Many thanks! read more

I was denied for an apartment a few days ago. According to leasing desk I owe a balance from an old apartment complex.. I've escalated my dispute and have yet to hear back from anyone. Extremely poor company. I have excellent credit (over 800) and am anal when it comes to my credit score, which I keep pristine. After owning a home for many years, I applied for my first apartment due to job relocation. There is an obvious discrepancy: the report displayed my Experian credit score of 806 and below it, it stated LeasingDesk Screening: "credit history unsatisfactory" Due to this, I was informed I need to pay an additional one months' rent at the apartment complex I was planning on renting. This is ludicrous. I am only choosing "1" star as there is no option for "0" stars. read more

This screening company is awful. They denied my application due to something that is completely discriminatory and goes against the property management companies practice. I have filed a dispute but have no way of knowing how long it will take, furthermore, the "explanation" section of their dispute process only allows for a few sentences. Its absurd. I have already spent $375 to hold an apartment that I will now probably loose due to this shit. They are difficult to get in contact with and make it hard to talk to the right person. read more

Very messy company overall. Not sure if its the people coding their software that gives false information on background checks or if its the actual employees not caring but something needs to be done about this immediately. I needed to move into a new apartment and was told the process would be very quick so I moved out of my previous apartment I had a month to month agreement on. The leasing agent sent me my welcome letter and everything. When I arrived at the leasing office on the move in date with my cashiers check for my first months rent and deposit, they tell me that my mother(who was my co-applicant) failed the screening because she has unsatisfactory criminal background. My mother has NO criminal background of any kind, not even a misdemeanor. We have never had this issue. Instead of the issue being taken care of immediately like most successful companies would have , the requested I file a dispute that could take up to 30 days to complete. This is unacceptable and I will be looking into legal options as denying housing due to false information is against the law. read more
