Real Page is unbelievable! I applied for an apartment and was told I will know immediately if approved or not. I applied and approval was sent to the apartment complex. 2 days later I get an email from real page stating I was denied due to fraud alert and insufficient credit history. I am so pissed!!! I've never placed a fraud alert on my credit and my credit is in good. I just paid an $45 app fee and a $600 holding deposit. This company should not be in business and this is totally unacceptable. You should avoid any apartments that's using LeasingDesk. read more

Formally applied last night to Mansions at Hockanum Crossing and was informed that I have a criminal charge on my background check from 2014. I have rented at a few other complexes in that time, as well as holding secret clearance for my job, so this is obviously a mistake. I called the company and while they were quick to report this to the Property Manager, they are still "reviewing" my additional info. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. If someone from the company monitors this, you may contact me. read more

This company deserves negative 5 stars. My apartment complex uses this service to send out important emails. One of these such emails was lease renewal notice - which none of the 4 people living in my apartment received. However, according the the software, it was sent out. Had we received the email, we could have canceled the new lease, but insyead we never knew that we were extended a new lease. The software's failure to send this email has officially cost all 4 of us and additional $500. Keep up the good work read more

Update: Although I experienced an error in my background check, literally hours after I wrote my review on here Paige messaged me back and helped clear up the error. They emailed me as well as the apartment complex a letter stating it was an error and I was able to finally get approved. I have a common name so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but I am giving a four star because I think they need to be more thorough in their background checks. Especially since this has to deal with people's lives. I will say they have excellent costumer service if you contact them through yelp, their contact phone number is no help. Thanks Paige once again. read more

My oldest credit card is in 2017 and I NEVR missed a single payment, but RealPage says "insufficient credit history"? This is ridiculous. No wonder this great community has so many homes available. In addition, rent-income ratio should not be an issue if rent is only 15% of income. read more

Hi Paige. I would love to DM you but I don't see that option. Will you please advise how I can respond? Thank you.

If your apartment complex uses this company, MOVE. My husband and I tried to enter a new checking account for rent payments and were hit with an NSF fee TWICE because they claim the account could not be found. We copy and pasted the account number directly from our bank's website, so there is no way we typed in the wrong number. After calling customer service, we were told we made the same mistake twice and they couldn't do anything about it. Triple checked the number with the bank and everything is good on their side. read more

I have never been denied a quality apartment ever in my life until this time around. After I found a great apartment, I applied for an apartment, with my coapplicant , paid over $400 just for this tool to reject my application and claim that fraud is happening and that I allegedly owe money to an apartment, something I knew nothing of. As far as I know, everything was paid upon moveout and owed no balance. These inaccuracies is costing me money , and from the looks of other reviews, this is rampant and wreaking havoc in honest people's lives. I am close to the end of August and concerned that If this isn't fixed soon, I will find myself homeless soon. read more

I recently applied to some apartments and just like many people here, when they sent a background report to the apartments I applied for they added none other than a criminal record to my report from a completely different person. I have never committed nor have I ever been convicted of a crime but they put it right on my report. I have called multiple times and all I am told is that they have expedited my request to remove this from my record within 5 business days. But not only do I have to wait for that I had to also wait for them to send me a copy of the report before I could even dispute what they VERY MISTAKINGLY added to it. I have now spent almost $2000 in hotels and one of the time I called I asked if they were going to refund me some money given that it's due to the report they generated that I have had to find alternative housing. They told me that I was incorrect that they are not at fault because what they put was public record. But the record is not mine and they added it to the report. So I am at a complete loss of time, money and have been under tremendous stress trying to sort this out it's been 10 days. How can they be so quick to add something so wrong and horrible to my report but take so freaking long to help me resolve the issue! read more

I arrived home to find a letter that appears to not even be printed correctly (as in starting with incomplete sentence fragments). I have an electrical engineering degree and have been renting for decades, including one complex for eight years CONSECUTIVELY. The "adverse action" which is not completely described, said due to "rental history unsatisfactory or insufficient," neither of which is the case. When I choose and plan to live somewhere, it is done with the intention of staying there for many years. It is unfortunate that a leasing company uses this agency; clearly they cannot screen candidates with any sort of precision or accuracy. UPDATE: the property complex was quick to respond and assured me everything was approved! this likley was third party-related and not associated with the rental unit in question. read more

I had never been refused to rent an apartment before, and it was according to problems in my background, when I contacted the credit bureau and explained all my situation and my data, apparently everything was fine and they told me that this company is probably using wrong information to do the screening process because they usually using third party softwares, so I coming here and saw all this bad reviews and now I'm sure that is not my problem, I'm really unhappy since I'm loosing my money and time, just want somebody at this company contacted me to find a solution. read more

Update - Paige helped me and got everything worked out. She must be the best employee there!

RealPage/LeasingDesk has been a nightmare from day 1!! They have an eviction on my record that doesn't belong to me. I have disputed it several times at varies apartments. They "remove it" but taint the apartments view of me as a renter so in turn I lose $200 every time. I have lost over $2000 behind the inaccurate information of LeasingDesk/ Real Page and I am demanding justice at this point. They are costing rental properties good tenants and good tenants to be homeless behind lies!! During covid 19 people do not ha e $200 plus dollars to be throwing away because you're negligence! This is cause for a class action suit!! This is horrible to ruin many Americans lives. We are fighting against discrimination, COVID 19 and REAL PAGE LEASING DESK! I am seeking a lawyer to review all of my claims. read more

Before applying with a apartment I previously lived at I looked up real page on yelp and after reading the reviews I decided to call them before I Submitted a application. There is no customer service department that you can talk to before the app only if you are denied on the application. I only have one simple question that other screening companies like Rentgrow could answer before I submitted my app. It makes me very weary to pay a company $200 but I can't ask them anything before hand where as I have been able too with other companies with other properties. I will talk to the office of the property I am applying too but I will more than likely choose somewhere else to live due to this. read more

Extremely inefficient and unprofessional company. The apartment I applied for uses RealPage to run background checks on applicants. This company ran a background check without using my SSN, Driver's License, or full date of birth to confirm my identity. They incorrectly claimed I had a criminal offense. I immediately filed a dispute and after a week later, this dispute has yet to be reviewed and corrected. After calling and emailing multiple times a day and being told there is nothing they can do to "speed up" the process, I am at risk of now losing the apartment I applied and paid a deposit for. As expected, this company already has several complaints of other individuals having incorrect or fraudulent information in their files and going through the same awful experience to dispute the company's obvious mistake. I do not recommend this company to anyone and would give them 0/5 stars if I could. read more

This is my first time applying for an apartment in 20 years. No shame in my game, we all make mistakes, but I had DUI where all but one charge was dismissed. I needed up with a Probation Before Judgment (no conviction). When I applied for an apartment it showed all the charges but no disposition so I filed a dispute. It didn't take that long, but by time it was resolved, the apartment was gone. This is my complaint: we applied for another apartment and the same issue came up!! They tell me that I have to file another dispute because apartments have different guidelines....what?????????? This makes no sense. I complained so much that the rep put the dispute in for me and linked it to my original dispute. I pray this works and I don't lose another apartment. This process makes no sense!!! I have a security clearance and explained all this, I've owned 2 homes. Why is it so hard to get approved for an apartment!!!??? Update: Paige contacted me and apparently they reached out to the new apartment complex with the updated and corrected information. I personally never received a final response but knowing that they took care of it within 48 hours of Paige reaching out to me, is a plus. I still think they should make this process more transparent. I've increased my review by a star. Thanks again Paige. read more

I'm very frustrated with this company. I got denied for an apartment because my coapplicant had an eviction showing up on his leasingdesk report. We make over 3x the rent and have good credit scores. When we called equifax they weren't able to see an eviction and he was never evicted but moved out due to a gas leak. Now I have to wait 3-5 days for the consumer report and then another possibly 30 days to dispute?? I already paid $400 in application and leasing fees. It shouldn't take this long to find a decent place to live. read more

I had applied to an apartment complex and they said I had to go through RealPage in order to submit a consumer dispute, which I did. It was over an eviction that should've been removed when everything was paid off last year, but wasn't. Got the dismissal order signed by a judge and submitted it to RealPage and it's almost been a week with no answer. We have called and no one has been able to expedite or even give us an estimated time for results. We are trying to move out this week and most likely won't be able to due to RealPage. The apartment complex also is waiting on a response from them. This is ridiculous. It's such a slow process. read more

This service was used for a apartment screening for a prospective building. When we applied and our information was ran through the system, we received a rejection letter stating there is "criminal or other public record unsatisfactory". Being confused, I researched into this to find out the company is counting a PAID CLOSED fine that I received over a year ago. A fine that is NOT criminal and was a simple pay the court 50$ and move on. I have tried to contact RealPages, and the representative told me the case is unresolved and they'll need to do 'a thorough investigation'. I'm unsure what that even means, as if you put in the case ID to the Court system's website it promptly comes up as "CLOSED". This service does NOT due it's diligence when it comes to properly researching individuals and the costumer service is essentially useless. Renters steer AWAY from this as you're missing out on prime residents due to this negligent company. read more

I applied to a property recently and was denied because of LeasingDesk, dealing with them is quite a pain. I have never defaulted any of my previous rentals and always paid my rent on time, surprisingly LeasingDesk provided on their screening results that I "owe" money to a collection agency for a previous building I lived in. Well, both me and the leasing manager called the property who verified that I did not owe anything when I moved out, so where did this "debt" come from? LeasingDesk just keeps saying they've escalated the case to the credit bureau and that I need to wait but guess what? I provided leasingDesk with all paperwork I got from the property they claim I owe money to which clearly states I do not owe them any, yet they still won't fix my issue and clear my screening report. I don't understand why can't they just contact the property they claim I owe money to and clear this mess. read more

I just had to dispute an eviction from RealPage for an apartment I was never evicted from. The apartment was shut down by the city so I cant even call them to find out what is going on. Eviction was from August 2011 and I didn't even live there at the at the time. I didnt move there until 3/2012 and didnt move out until 12/2012. I'm completely disgusted because I want to move out my slum lord house so bad!!! They also reported and address I apart of my rental history saying I paid late and I've never lived there. I wish I could give this company negative stars!!!!!! read more

I have never done a Yelp review before, but I feel this is the only way this company will actually listen. I am waiting for RealPage to make a very simple fix to a rental history report that the company gave to an apartment complex that I applied to last week. The report had one piece of false information about money owed to a former apartment complex of mine. I confirmed with the former apartment complex that I do not owe any money and had actually paid the amount when it was due. I submitted a dispute to RealPage on 4/6/22. They didn't even take a look at the dispute until two days later. Today (4/11/22), I confirmed with my former apartment complex that they have sent the documentation to RealPage to prove that their information is incorrect. The apartment complex I am applying to is only holding the apartment for me through tomorrow. If this does not get fixed within the next 24 hours, I lose the apartment. Please fix the report! It is such a small error and it is costing me my housing. read more

I am completely in disbelief that I was denied here and was given a generic reason as to why. My roommate and I have applied to two other apartments (one even more expensive than this one) and were approved by both. I have a great credit score and I'm sure if the complex did not utilize RealPage for screenings I would have gotten approved, no doubt. We also make well above 2.5x the rent and judging by the previous reviews something seems very faulty. read more

Heads up this company is racist I applied for a apartment they denied me for my credit score it didn't even show up on my credit report that they even ran me.second the score they said I had was extremely wrong .Let me help u people out if they deny you then let it go that apartments not for you .I turned around and got approve for another apartment. I lost 50 dollars apt fee but I didnt lose sleep or time. Another thing they will pull your lowest score if Equifax is lower the Experian they will use that vise versa.and the apartment company's dont care because they think that company is screening for bad tenants.thats why they dont try to help u with the matter they quick to say call and get your results.at the end of the day it is up to the apartment complex to let you sign a lease. So I dont know why you people still will want to stay at a place like that.wake up read more

I recently had applied for an apartment and was denied due to a remaining balance that was left on my credit score or rental history. I have gone through the steps of paying the balance, but when going to fill out the dispute for it I had to fill out two because I didn't know whether to fill out credit or rental history because it took over 4 days just for my consumer report to be sent to me. Once I filled out the forms I had to call because I had additional forms to prove that I had paid it (there was no way for me to put it on the original form). Once I was able to get someone on the phone about the status of my dispute, I had asked how long will it take for the dispute to go through and he said minimum five business days for rental history and an UNKNOWN timeline for the credit one. It has now been over a week since I filed my dispute and I have yet to hear anything from LeasingDesk. I have to move out of state for a new job that starts in less than 10 days and without this being resolved I will have no where to move into. read more

This company is crap.. I applied for an apartment about a week ago & the office lady called me & said I was denied due to an eviction. I have never been evicted.. Come to find out, the apartment complex uses real page inc to do their credit checks & background checks. Bad first impression! I called real page to dispute the false information on my background & I ended up talking to a guy who can barely speak English.. Wow!! Really!! They falsified an eviction on my background from 2010. They Said I lived in Texas during 2009-2012 at the same apartment complex that I applied for. I'm from Mississippi & I just moved to Texas in 2014. Not only was I denied a nice apartment but they told me that I have to wait 30 dam days before anything is solved. This company is a freaking joke. I'm sure that I can report them. I just haven't figured out to who yet. read more

I am a young professional moving to the Seattle area for a new position in a corporate office. I have held corporate positions since college and have had several background checks done on me. The company I will be working for is very well known, and I passed their background check with flying colors. I applied for three apartments in Seattle and was approved within hours at two of them, but not at the third, which was the building and location I really wanted. My background check came back unsatisfactory and I was "denied" the apartment, however, the apartment complex called and said I could dispute it and they'd hold the unit for me. I figured this would be taken care of the following Monday as the only thing that could have possibly shown up on my record was an underage drinking ticket I got back in college. I had to borderline harrass Realpage to take care of this in a "timely" manner. (And by "timely", I mean I had started contacting them at 8am central Monday morning and did not receive results until 4:45pm central Friday afternoon). Then - my results ended up being a charge that did not belong to me from the state of Wisconsin!! The employees at Realpage were extremely unhelpful, they either did not know the answers to my questions, or just didn't care enough to answer them without giving me the run around. They all made me feel like I was the one in the wrong and I received zero apology for having put the wrong record on my report, which could have cost me thousands of dollars if I didn't get this apartment. I ended up getting the apartment, but when I am making a cross country move, the last thing I needed was to be denied an apartment because of a crime I didn't even commit because Realpage doesn't bother to make sure they've got the right person. I would NOT recommend using this background check company in the future. read more

My credit is considered Good/Excellent and my apartment rental history is excellent (no evictions, always early or on-time rent payments, quiet, and always clean with a returned deposit). I applied to a rental community that used Realpage's credit software and was informed by the rental community that, according to Realpage's assessment, my credit was questionable and my rental history rated 800 out of 1000! This required the rental community to charge me a "penalty" of a non-refundable deposit, or an extra, potentially-refundable $1000 deposit! Technically, I could afford to pay either the non-refundable or refundable deposit, but that wasn't the point: I didn't like being made to feel like I was a shady tenant! Again, my credit score is considered Good/Excellent and I just got a new job with a higher salary; when I've previously rented at other places, my credit score was a bit lower and my salary was lower and I wasn't penalized. But these rental communities didn't use Realpage! Most likely, I'll forgo the apartment (even though I'll end up losing $255 in rental application fees!) and rent a house. Way to go, Realpage! If your goal is to insult and deter quiet, clean, steady-paying tenants with your credit/screening software's bad algorithms, you're doing a great job!!! read more

From time to time I check with these guys (nice name change guys, what are you running from?) as I forget how FUBAR the guys are. This time it's " You need to register before we can tell you if you need the excess GL insurance for your specific trade". Me: "So I need to pay the $99 and register before you can tell me?" Them: "That's not what I said" Me: "That's what the Greystar/CD forms says, Call, pay the fee and complete the registration". Them: "Well you need to register and fill the forms out before we can determine if you need more than 1MM GL insurance". I get the need for verification checks, I don't get how major management companies use these bozos (sorry Bozo, it's just a pop culture reference, I mean no disrespect to the fine culture of the clown world) I'm a good vendor with a solid reputation and I won't risk it getting tainted with Compliance Depot aka "RealPage" and next month who knows what they will call their selves. The only rational explanation is a fine tuned system of KBs Vendors: Respect yourself and the business and pass on anyone associated with these people. Mgmt companies: You are loosing good, sane, and reliable companies working on your properties. read more

Like the other reviewers if I could leave zero stars I would. The Compliance Depot / RealPage are a completely unprofessional. Having to pay between $80 & $100 to be a vendor is a HUGE RIPOFF. My services don't cost that much and having to pay that much eats all of my profits. It's just not worth having to go through the hoops this joke of a company make you jump through. 0 Stars! This is by far the most impossible certificate clearing house that exists. I advise my contractors that work for apartment complexes to steer clear of any that use them for certificates. This company is the biggest nightmare to deal with! The customer service reps claim to have insurance knowledge or their license, but have absolutely no clue what they're looking at on COI's. In addition, they require me scour through my insured's policy's to find & send the actual AI or WS endorsement... which is usually on a form they are not familiar with, so it isn't approved . The scumbags at this company do everything to help the property management company to rip you off. Charge a 12% fee for billing service, process ACH payment without verifying the routing number (so they can charge you a NSF fee later). Just want to clarify, I did get the issue resolved took about 4 days. Glad it's taken care of just wish I didn't have to deal with the stress in the first place, still appreciate the help though! Beyond upset with RealPage/LeasingAgent. The apartment complex I applied to just informed me that I was denied because of an eviction based on a report that they ran using this program. The names aren't even the same. My middle name is Marie apparently someone by the name of Maria has an eviction and it somehow showed up on my report. Maria's first name happens to be a variation of my MIDDLE NAME and the last names match, Maria's eviction got roped under my info. Ridiculous! I can't rent anywhere decent if any apartment complex I apply to uses the same program because I'm sure I'll end up with the same issue. I only hope the apartment complex Maria screwed over can work with the one I'm trying to rent with to explain I most definitely am not Maria. How would I even be able rent a place with a name that doesn't match any forms of government ID I have?! Horrible service they are providing to apartment complexes for would be tenants! Obligatory 1 star statement because I can't give 0. read more

Being in the insurance industry we send a lot of Insurance certificates for our clients. Compliance Depot is the absolutely MOST HORRIFIC company we ever have to deal with. They hold up our clients money and kick back certificates even when they are fine. If an "I" is left un-dotted it will get kicked back even. They require contractors to have the most asinine requirements for insurance, and the wording on certificates has to have come from someone with their head in the sand. Any time we see the words Compliance Depot we cringe in our chairs. It makes my job hard enough dealing with these clowns, but I really feel for my clients who are held up from being paid due to ridiculous bureaucratic requirements in place by the beloved Compliance Depot. read more

As most of the other reviews have stated, I have the same issue. Real Page has 1 job, and it seems they cant even come close to doing that correctly. I was denied an apartment after real page did a screening and submitted False information Regarding criminal history. This company needs to be held accountable for the damage that they are doing to people. I cant express the absolute Anger and Frustration that I am feeling all because RealPage cant seem to get their act together to do the one job that they are paid to do. As of now, Ive paid 200$ to an apartment complex that I have been denied to lease with, because of false background information. If you expect to get any results calling RealPage, think again! Customer Service is a JOKE! Completely clueless as to having any sort of information about anything really! the lady I spoke to did in fact tell me that I would have to wait 5 days for any results regarding my Disputes!
