Update: I received a call from Cynthia from Customer Relations at RealPage and she explained to me that there was fraud alert reported from Equifax which was a credit warning and there was no negative history associated with my credit file. She also added that my wife being a homemaker does not have income, but, the apartment management still marked her as a lease holder and not occupant, which in turn resulted in her to have 3 times income as that of rent. This in turn resulted in apartment management [Hampton Greens] to ask me exaggerated security deposit. Cynthia from RealPage informed me that she is going to talk to apartment management company and inform them that there was no negative history on my credit and once she talks to apartment management company, she will inform me with whom she talked to. I will update this review and review rating soon after hearing from the apartment management company. ----- Original review ---- I wish I could give negative stars as review to RealPage. If you are looking to lease an apartment and if the apartment management uses RealPage, you can skip the apartment altogether even if the apartment is a mansion and you have a perfectly excellent score. I had credit score which was consistently rated excellent since last few years and, after review by RealPgae, the apartment management company started to ask me exaggerated security deposit quoting that I had fraud reported on my credit file and I had insufficient credit history. I have been living in the US since 7 years and never had any issue with this. In fact, there were instances when my security deposit was waived after looking at my employment and the credit history by previous apartment management companies. But RealPage, you screwed me in all possible ways and are on the verge of making my wife and I homeless in 7 days. Kudos! Well played. If it's not obvious, I would give negative million stars to RealPage. You are not good at what you do. read more

My housemates and I applied to our dream apartment but an issue/mistake came up with my friend's credit report that he was only made aware of through the leasing desk screening process. We sent a dispute to the credit bureau notifying them of the mistake, and they took care of it quickly and removed it from his credit report. We also sent in a dispute to the RealPage leasing desk immediately with evidence that this has been taken care of in hopes that they would clear the issue so our application can go through. We even called them to see if they can expedite the process since we're concerned that we'll lose the apartment if it isn't handled quickly enough, but they pretty much said there's no guarantee and gave no timeline of when we would expect any updates, so we're stuck in limbo. We've done everything we can and have pretty much hit a wall with this screening company. It's been a really frustrating experience so far. read more

I called today to make a correction with my statement that was billed incorrectly. Absolutely unprofessional and unethical treatment by their billing department. The person on the phone refused to give me her name and raised her voice saying that either I have to pay or she will send me to collection agency and hung up. I called back and she refused to let me talk again, let alone make any correction and told me she will block my number if I called back again. It is sad that a normal reasonable conversation is no longer possible with people, especially when there is a case of wrongful billing. I guess that is what courts are for. read more

I need to get in touch with them to get a dispute started, but they've been closed yesterday and today "for the holiday". It's currently Monday, January 3rd which isn't a holiday I'm aware of. I need help!!! My husband & I found the absolutely perfect apt. last week. We went home giddy, filled out the application, and paid $270.00 in app fees. Found out the next morning that we were denied!! Discovered that we had a rental "ding" on our credit report from 2 years ago (we had NO clue), long story short...we got it taken care of & will be getting a letter from the collection company within 48 hours stating that it was paid. I called today to see what our next move is & was told something about a bullet to dispute!?? The person I spoke with was VERY hard to understand, so I have NO clue what to do next!!! I called the apt. community & was told that they have NO say so in who gets approved, it's up to Realpage!! We have 2 weeks!!! Could someone/anyone please, please help us? Thanks! read more

Really frustrated that I can't get any information from LeasingDesk until Monday and the property manger can't give me any details regarding what I'm sure is inaccurate. Was finally able to speak to someone this morning and have been advised that I have to wait 7 days to get any answers yet property managers are provided the report within 5 minutes. This absolutely ridiculous. read more

If you like your vendors, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I am a vendor for many apartment complexes, I complete these managing software packets several times a month. RealPage is a RealPainInTheAss. I have never had so many issues getting set up. And in the meantime, we have been waiting 70 days for payment due to RealPages issues. I have decided that this apartment complex, that I have worked with for several years who thought they were advacing by hiring RealPage isnt worth the hassel. I have ended our 4 year relationship based off their choice to hire such a poor managing company. If you are a complex, expect to loose vendors too if you choose to trust Realpage. read more

I was denied for an apartment because RealPage did a background check based on my first and last name only, which is ridiculous because they had both my middle name and SSN they could have used to verify the criminal record they claimed I had did not belong to me. Because of this, I have been denied an apartment and cannot get any answers from anyone at RealPage about the dispute. A little bizarre how this continues to happen and they have still yet to make any changes to their process. read more

*** UPDATE *** - Issue was resolved with a lot of follow-ups necessary. Thank god I found this yelp page to escalate the issue even quicker! Thanks paige! This software is no bueno though! should not be ok to use with this much error. I thought i was going crazy, but no...I come here to see this isnt just me. I was denied on an application based on a criminal history I do not have. Apparently I am black and in PA, but im actually white and in california. I issued a dispute and report today, so we will see how fast this gets resolved...Too bad these are TIME SENSITIVE errors and fuck up peoples lives. Any help Paige S? :) read more

I am so upset with this company. I applied for an apartment yesterday and was denied due to a lack of rental history (I have at least 5 years of great rental history) and INCORRECT information for where I currently reside. Waiting on these people to correct this issue is going to make me miss out on my apartment. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

Made a payment to my apartment complex and go as me a confirmation of my payment. When I logged back In, its still showing my payment is due to my rental office. Not sure what's up with all these bad reviews, I have done some work and projects with these people and always found them to be very good and honorable. Their headquarters is awesome with lots of highly energetic people working there and it's a very well put together operation. In any case if you're reading any of these other reviews take it with a grain of salt but this particular review site is not typically the one for such a business and perhaps just a place where people are ranting, who knows maybe they are all true but I'm giving you an honest account that I've done a lot of high-level business with these people and always been treated very well and had very equitable results. read more

This review is coming from a Property Manager as well as a resident: RealPage is pretty convenient for screening and scoring applicants WHEN THEY GET THE APPLICANT'S INFORMATION RIGHT. Results are typically received quickly (sometimes within minutes if the resident or landlord fills out all information accurately) which makes for an easy process WHEN THEY GET THE APPLICANT'S INFORMATION RIGHT. The main problem is that some information that appears on RealPage scoring is outdated, inaccurate, or flat out places other applicants information on wrong accounts because their name or other identifying info is similar. This is a major problem not only because they include other people's information on someone else's report but also, because it's extremely embarrassing for all involved when I have to tell an applicant they were denied because they called in a bomb threat back in 2008 only to find out that the info belongs to someone else. When you do actually call RealPage to try to quickly resolve what's clearly an error, you will be told by someone with a very thick accent that there is nothing they can talk to you about over the phone because "this is sensitive information." But RealPage, you literally just placed somebody's whole criminal record on the wrong applicants screening but now you can't tell me or them the reason why over the phone even after ID verification? I can call the IRS to get more information than this place and that's kind of a problem because at least the IRS doesn't accidentally garnish my wages because I have the same last name as a famous tax evasion artist. Get where I'm going here? As a Property Manager, I would always dread having to fax or email documentation showing that "John Katzafrakkis" isn't a three time felon because RealPage brought up "John Konstantinople's" information in addition to his. I wish I was lying when I say that this was a very common occurrence that left a lot of applicants frustrated, embarrassed, and sometimes- homeless until we could get a resolution which would almost always prove that RealPage was in error. Are you serious? I won't even get started on how the amount of time it takes to get a resolution totally depends on whether you get a nice agent who knows what they're doing or you get an agent who barely speaks English and doesn't want to bother verifying information because that would require they get up and walk to their circa 1999 fax machine at 4:30PM on a Friday. If you as an applicant want to file a dispute, good luck because you will be told to get online and fill out paperwork or mail said paperwork. Imagine how frustrating that is for an applicant who is in the process of moving and isn't near a printer or WiFi. Imagine how frustrating that is for a leasing professional who can clearly see the error but can't help the applicant even if they've spent all day working to secure that lease? I'd rather wait a few hours for an accurate screening result than wait a few minutes or an hour for inaccurate information RealPage. Get it together! Now here's my real gripe that caused all of this RealPage PTSD to come to the surface again: I've had nothing but problems with RealPage on the resident end as of the last month or so. Just recently, a relatives delinquent rental account appeared on my account. Surprise surprise, RealPage still has outdated and inaccurate information from 2012! It's 2018 RealPage! That fancy new facility and you operate like a company that hasn't seen new technology since the first mobile phone. This outdated and increasingly slow client dispute process now has me living in a hotel while I try for the thousandth time to get someone from RealPage to get it together and stop ruining my ability to rent an apartment. You could do so much better RealPage. Your ideas could really make leasing so much easier but my God, there has to be a better process to obtain accurate information than what you're doing right now. I think googling somebody brings up more accurate information than whatever you're using. I'd tell you all of this personally but I'm afraid if I paid your office a visit, I'd be rerouted to the parking lot to an outdated suggestion box chained to a post where I can also conveniently dispute being rerouted to a suggestion box. Ridiculous. read more

just now I recently tried to rent from Boulevard at Oakley Station and was turned down via their lease screening company. My fiance and I have very solid professional careers and great credit, no issues with our backgrounds. The screening company they used is called LeasingDesk/Realpage. This is the most fraudulent and unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. They came back saying we had criminal infractions on our consumer reports. This was shocking and very insulting. We, of course, disputed these, and it turned out the records in question didn't belong to us. I would have expected more accuracy from a lease screening firm. We have rented in several different states and countless properties and have never in my life ever been questioned, let alone turned down on a lease application. Now I understand that Boulevard at Oakley Station doesn't actually perform these lease screenings, but they are, however, responsible for contracting a poor vendor such as LeasingDesk to perform them on their behalf. I can't stress enough how unprofessional we were treated by both the Boulevard at Oakley Station and their lease screening company. It almost felt like they never wanted to rent to us in the first place. This, in my opinion, is unacceptable this day in age with all of the rental options there are out in the marketplace. To be honest, Boulevard at Oakley Station really missed out on very solid renters. We've never been late, and both have really good credit and earn a high combined household income. It's sad that their application screening company is preventing them from getting solid renters. Please be aware that if you do indeed want to rent at Oakley Station you will more than likely be questioned or turned down for inaccuracies for lack of due diligence by their screening company. I feel that if they would have screened using our SS#s instead of just typing a name in, that this wouldn't have been an issue to begin with. To me this shows lack of protocol and lazy employees. Plus, this is a huge inconvenience and stress on people's live to be told that they have criminal charges on their record, that are not accurate. The reviews of their screening company, LeasingDesk/ Realpage are the worst I ever seen, so it's not just me that is having this issue. It's sad that Oakley Station corporate will not look into this, because it is hurting their brand. Plus, Oakley Station didn't even help or offer any input on these fraudulent claims that were obviously false. Again, I would NOT recommend even wasting your time with this community, until they hire a reputable lease screening firm. read more

After applying for an apartment my husband and I just received an email from Realpage stating that our application has not been approved due to the following reasons: Credit history unsatisfactory, Criminal and other public records unsatisfactory, Fraud alert. I have decent credit record/score, (my husband is not a US citizen but does hold a Greencard, so he does not have credit. The apartment manager told us this shouldn't be a problem). I'm worried that because he's not a citizen, this somehow caused our application to be denied. Neither one of us have a criminal record. I'm not sure what the fraud alert is, but after receiving this email correspondence I reviewed all of my credit reports only to find I have 0 delinquencies, 0 collections, 0 fraud alerts and a good payment history. I even did a background check, which was cleared! What gives?? Help! read more

I am a 67 and have a mental disability. I pay rent with their online real page. I had a credit coming from the apts I live in last month and thought I had stopped my recurring charges that would automatically pay my monthly rent so I could enter the onetime payment with the credit. This month March since I thought I had canceled the recurring charges I went in and made a one time payment of 369 which is my monthly rent. I printed a receipt and that was it. Today I check my bank account and I am overdrawn and my savings has been depleted can you imagine going to your bank and seeing what your balance is and it tells you that you have no money and you are over drawn and have NSF charges from other payments you have made for the month. Some may think oh well but I am devastated because I am on social security and the extra 369 was what I had left for the month to buy groceries and go to the doctor with. Now I have nothing and am in the neg by 35. dollars. . I am on hud and get a discounted rent. They need to have some kind of a warning after all some of us are not bookkeepers are accountants are computer programmer.. Why when I paid the one time rent why didn't it alert me that a recurring was already in place and was I sure I wanted to pay rent twice. No warning in fact it let me print a receipt with no warning that another 369 was coming out as well. I called my property Providence Town square in deer Park, Texas they just told me tough that at least I had a credit on my account gee thanks who can afford to pay 2 months rent. I cannot? so then I was also told if I get the bank to reverse the 369 as unauthorized charges the apts will charge me a 75 dollar NSF fee for April I asked them how can you charge an NSF fee when my rent isn't even due until April. So I called realpage I was also told to bad mam. If I had of called the day it happen they could of fixed it. Because there was no warning that my rent was being paid twice I am not having to pay 75 dollars for a mistake I made. Money hungry people that Is all I can say. I am calling Hud in the am and telling them about this mess. I am mentaly disabled and should be excused when I this happened. Never again will I use real page never ever again. thanks for nothing read more

My husband and I went to apply for a new apartment and we have never ever had a eviction on either of my husband or my rental history. However this company falsely reported that my husband has a eviction on his record which made us get denied. My husband and his dad have the same first and last name. His dad has had the eviction in 2020 not us. So becaise there system pulled the wrong information it has caused so much unneeded stress. Im so frustrated and i feel like no one is going to help us and i am pregnant and need a bigger place for me and my baby and husband. We also filed a dispute 2 times and called to get a update and the rep said that there was no dispute that was filed even though we got a confirmation email for both times. And the rep was absolutely not willing to help until I yelled at him to get a supervisor then he said he would file the dispute over the phone. I asked for him to expedite it but then gave us the same timeframe of 5 business days which is the normal time frame. I am at a complete loss. I feel like no one is going to help. read more

I hate to even leave a negative review, but when I get a "failed" background report that says "criminal" and I worked 15 years in Law Enforcement, and haven't even had a speeding ticket in over 10 years, and have NEVER in my life been in any legal trouble, it really urks the crap out of me to appeal a process, knowing it's wrong! Wait 3-5 days to see what a charge is that I know isn't mine, then to dispute it, to get into the apartment? It's nonsense! I thought putting in an application would be simple when you do everything right. If I was rushed to move, it would have been chaotic. But as a business, with so many people having the same issue, and we have to pay for the application process and it comes back totally wrong, that's what should be the crime!! This hinders the moving process of good renters for apartment complexes, and also throws a wrench in the relocation plans of "us" the clients who have worked hard, kept a clean record, good credit to maintain what you need, to get "failed' for discrepancies. This needs to be fixed. read more

I am currently involved and waiting for a dispute to be solved because when I applied for an apartment RealPage told them I have an eviction from 2017 for an apartment I didn't live in. Better yet, the name doesn't match mine, the birth date isn't mine, the social isn't mine and when I went to talk to the apartments they listed they told me the person isn't even the same race as me. How on earth did this persons eviction end up on my report through RealPage?! What are they checking that suddenly connected this person to me? This company has some serious problems in the way they do their screenings and should probably not be allowed to screen for anyone. read more

This company is terrible. I applied to an apartment and was declined due to my criminal background history, which is immaculate, not even a speeding ticket. Was told to reach out and file a dispute. Once the property gives us the thumbs up, we will give another update. I will add 2 more stars for effort. Thanks Ashley! I hate writing bad reviews! In all honesty I would rather write a good one. RealPage is a good idea, but in reality is just a software that is not capable of making proper decisions on what is current, or accurate information on background checks. They reported criminal history that was invalid, obsolete and dismissed. In reading our rights under the FCRA (Credit: FCRA) A Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act Consumer reporting agencies may not report outdated negative information. In most cases, a consumer reporting agency may not report negative information that is more than seven years old, or bankruptcies that are more than 10 years old. Realpage software Leasingdesk pulled information from 20 years ago (1999). This has caused so much stress. We have been living in the same community over 5 years, in 2 different luxury complexes, paid rent on time, participated in community activities and are friendly neighbors. We decided to move to a smaller complex that is equal as nice, but would let us save more for our daughters college tuition. We had no idea this would be what we would face, when we filled out a standard lease application. We have been delayed and probably denied, because of your illegal reportings. Realpage you should do better. Shame on you! read more

I am in the process of moving from Washington DC to Atlanta and now I don't have a place due to information that was inaccurate. I got denied an apartment because of and "eviction". I look at the name of the person placed with the eviction and it wasn't even my name. It was my mother's name we do have a similar first name. But non the less we are 2 completely people with different names. At the time of this eviction I wasn't even on the lease and I was a minor. I've never rented/owned a home or an apartment in my life. So I thought my first time would be a walk in the park , do to the fact that I have a great income and good credit. But no! I get denied because of RealPage's mistake. And from all the terrible reviews I've just read. I'm worried if this will even will get fixed for me. While I've already done the process for a dispute I'm hoping the apartment complex will hold the apartment for me. I can't go apply any other place because if they use the RealPage screening I will get denied over and over do to false information. This is so aggravating and upsetting. You call the number they provide and they can't even provide you with a estimate or time frame on when they can solve this issue. It's so simple look at the first and last name and realize they are different. Look at the year of the eviction and do the math with my birthday I wasn't even old enough to rent a home.
