What really sets it apart is the staff. Every time I've gone in with a question, like repotting or why a leaf is doing something weird, someone actually takes the time to walk me through it instead of just pointing at a shelf. They even drilled a drainage hole in a ceramic pot I picked out, no extra charge, which saved me a trip to find a drill. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and a lot of what they carry is grown locally so it's held up well in my apartment despite my not so green thumb. It's become my go to stop whenever I need something for the house. Can't recommend it enough if you want an easy, no pressure nursery with people who actually know plants.

They had a shaking machine to eliminate random needles. The most amazing part of the experience was the price. Last year our 7 ft. Tree cost 200 m, with the stand cat Clancys. Our 7 foot tree this year was $89 for a fresh Douglas fir. We brought our own stand. ABC crew did a fresh cut and put it on our stand for us. Also, securely loaded it on our car. BTW they also have wreaths and garland very reasonably priced. Check the web site. Garland $2.50 per foot. That is a 1990's price! Trader Joe-isgmh, only better quality tying of the cedar.

Then this is my special occasion garden of worship temple to plants nursery. It's where I go to celebrate major life events ...with plants and garden furniture purchases. I still also go to sit in the garden if I need a quiet place to think. There isn't a Ritual Coffee there anymore, but they don't seem to mind if you a being a drink (All Good is around the corner.) As I age, and my janked up knee worsens, and the City puts up barriers for people with mobility issues, I can't always get to my preferred thinking spots in the City's lovely parks. This is a very good substitute with easy parking. We had our wedding reception in Golden Gate Park when we were young and broke. If you have money you could have it here as they rent it out for just such occasions. It would be a lovely venue.

I was pressured by time and money as the landscapers were almost done and I was way over my budget, and had been experiencing conflicting advice from Claude, Chat and Gemini. After grilling multiple other garden centers near me, I remembered Flora Grubb, drove across the bridge and rushed to the counter to beg for help. Elena laughed, and like a true medical professional they reviewed every symptom, asked detailed questions about conditions and worked their diagnostic skills, taking me through the magical property introducing me to things I had never considered and double checking the minutiae of size and conditions whenever I expressed doubt. After my first round I found Andee who again offered the same generosity in solving another mystery. The beauty of the plants and the uplifting spirit of both these women were nothing short of healing. As I was ringing out for the second time, I asked about my gardenia and Flora, herself started to laugh - "oh, she won't like it here" she said. When I explained that I wanted to bring a bit of my grandmother into my garden, she smiled and came up with a plan to help me provide the best conditions. I left with a car full of plants, inhaling the lovely smells of the soil and feeling like I had spent the day at a meditation retreat. We are so lucky to have a place like Flora Grubb in the Bay. As the world gets crazier, it is a comfort to know a sanctuary is waiting in Bayview.
