They're open late. We got there after work around 630P.M. There was a lot of parking at the underpass. It was nice because they just got a new shipment of Christmas trees. We were able to walk around the place and figure out which tree we wanted. We chose this place so we wouldn't have to drive on the freeway while transferring our tree. Pricing is determined by the height of the tree. They charge by foot. Ours was under 8ft so it was $14/foot. Don't forget they'll add tax. Taller it is the more expensive. My 5'5" Noble fir ended up being $84 total. After purchasing the tree. You can tell them what kind of stand you have or they can put some planks under so it can stand on its own. They will also trim the tree and make adjustments you want. Best thing was they helped tie the tree to the top of the car. Because if I did it, it probably would've damaged my car and fell off during the drive. So thanks to them they did fast and good job securing it. It was easy removing the string when I got home too. read more

The customer service experience leaves a lot to be desired and apparently I was dealing with the owner. The disposable water bowls are ugly/don't look great. I'm new to the bay and maybe have higher expectations for the tree buying experience. I suspect it's likely the place and not a reflection of what I'd experience elsewhere. I won't be back. The ladies at the register were nice though. read more

Last night we went to get a tree, and the kindest man helped, his name was Nonay I had my three children with me, he made each of them a tiny Christmas tree. He went out of his way to clean up the tree, and put the base on for us. He was so kind and helpful, and would not take our 40$ tip! He gave it back to us multiple times, I'd really love to extend my grateful and thanks to him! If anyone knows how I can get him his tip, that would be great lol! read more

I bought my Christmas tree from them last year and it was bit late in the season so I got a discount. They still have some really nice trees when I went around dec 20th. All the men that work there are really attractive too, but that's not the reason I'm going back this week to get another tree... it's not the ONLY reason. After looking around for a while I wasn't seeing the exact tree I wanted which I described as, "skinny 8ft tall tree with arms. Kinda like nightmare before Christmas but a little more fluffy." The gentleman that was helping us went toward the back and picked up a WRAPPED tree and told me it was exactly what I was looking for. I was SO HESITANT. I couldn't understand how he could possibly know. I ended up with a 6ft tree that was around $115 (I think?) including a stand and with it being so close to Christmas I would've had to deal whether I liked it or not. It ended up being PERFECT. The man is talented because he never unwrapped the tree and it took him like 5 minutes to find. The reason this place gets 5-stars is not only because of the quality, but the service was great. The staff have been helpful and friendly, they even thoughtfully tied the branches with string to make carry out easy, excellent customer service! What a gem! No need to drive to a tree farm and add carbon footprint to ur holiday tradition. Pop by this lovely place. Plenty of parking, fresh, good selection of reasonably priced trees (about $15/foot). Helpful, cheerful service. They even strap it to your car roof if u need that help. Happy days for holidays! Christmas trees: Hubby and I came to get Our Christmas tree on Friday at Brent's! This is our annual tradition and we love supporting family businesses like these. It's located under the 580 overpass and shares their parking with the farmers market. Customer service was great. We walked through the lot and I noticed that they had way less trees than last year. I guess everyone came early to get their trees. We did get a beautiful healthy six foot Fir! We also got the water bowl and Wooden stand attached. The trees are $13/foot plus $8 for the stand and bowl! Made our purchase and then the gentleman loaded the tree for us. Staff is super friendly! All wearing masks and there is hand sanitizer too! Picked up my 8ft. Christmas tree on a Friday night on opening week. All staff wore masks and they had hand sanitizer stations to adhere with COVID regulations. Very welcoming and attentive. They asked all the necessary questions to find a perfect tree that would fit my home. They have a wide selection and the trees are beautiful. Absolutely beautiful trees for a reasonable price (I paid around $92 for a six-foot tree). And SPECTACULAR service. As soon as I entered, Noneh was there to ask what kind of tree I was looking for. I wanted my tree early this year and struck out at Delancy and Home Depot. At 8:30, we almost called it a night but called Brent's. They happily let us know that they were open til 9. They met our enthusiasm when we arrived and William helped us find the perfect tree. We weren't rushed, even though it was close to/past closing time. The ambiance was festive, the staff was helpful, and the price was super reasonable. They even gave us a cute little souvenir with the cutting from the trunk. This was my very first real tree experience, and while my girlfriend was the true guide, the experience at Brent's was pleasant and easy. We were stopping at the Farmers Market and my girlfriend was Yelping for tree place... and this just happened to be adjacent. If you want to save time, I'd probably recommend stopping by during the week, but even on a busy market Saturday, it wasn't bad. After finally deciding on the tree we wanted, checkout was speedy, and the guy even brought the tree all the way to the street to put in our truck. I was glad I had cash to tip, but if you're wise, you can just park in the parking lot, and you'll be all that much more close. I'll definitely recommend this place. They had some pretty good trees, my tree looked great, paid for it and then when the guy was loading it onto the car basically just threw it on and strapped it down hastily and terribly and broke most of the branches on that side of the tree... I would not pay extra for the water bowl. They put a nail through the bottom or something(?!) I put some water in to test and it wasn't leaky but when I filled it up after spending all afternoon decorating it, there was water everywhere. Now we're siphoning it out into a bucket and kinda just hoping the tree lasts without water. I don't have the heart to do all this all over again. I came here just because they mount the trees for you but I kinda wish I'd have just gotten a reusable stand from the hardware store instead. read more

Open 11/16! We offer weekly fresh cut Oregon and NorCal Christmas trees cut about Nov 14 through Dec 8. Depending on weather, shipments arrive weekly thru 12/8. Tree variety subject to change daily. We are your local east bay (Oakland) based family business dedicated to growing the best Christmas trees in NorCal. We have been continuously located in the Oakland/East Bay area since 1958 which makes us the longest running small business dedicated to Christmas tree sales. Generally our tree lot opens around November 16 and remain open through Dec 24. Our lots are located in Oakland at Grand Ave & Lakeshore near the Grand Lake Theater; and at (Closed for 2024) Harbor Way Parkway and Doolittle Drive on the Alameda border by the Oakland Airport. We start cutting our trees right before Thanksgiving. We are known for providing a large variety and freshest, high-quality trees. Our varieties include Noble Fir, Silver Tip, Nordman, Douglas Fir, Scotch Pine, Ponderosa Pine, Cedar, Sequoyah, Grand Fir. We also have wreathes, mistletoe and garland. We will not be flocking this year. We offer fire-retarding and provide delivery (within Eastbay) both available for extra cost. We service commercial businesses and residential clients with excellence. We deliver locally to homes, businesses, churches throughout the east bay. Weekend shopping can be crowded, shopping during the week is recommended to beat the crowds. We take phone orders for trees, wreaths, garland and can deliver locally.

History

Established in 1958.

Brent began cutting and selling Christmas trees with his father-in-law in the mid 1950's. In 1958 he went into the business along with his wife in the east bay and the business continues today with his son. This is truly a locally family owned business and not a corporate enterprise. Our family continues to live in Oakland and raises trees in Northern CA. Our family enjoys living locally and promoting local businesses associated with his business. Brent's Trees plants 5000 to 8000 seedlings per year on the family farm and in the Sierra Mountain range. Brent's Trees plants about 50% more than we cut each year. Christmas trees are a sustainable product which help the environment and promote family spirit for the holidays. Silver tips are my favorite trees. They have nice branch spacing and symmetry and look special - perhaps because everybody and their dog doesn't have one. A bunch of workers here who are very helpful. Prices are similar to others - only one on Park St Alameda and one in SF by the city college and maybe one more under the freeway near grand lake theater sells these. Christmas tree shopping is such a joyous event. Something I look forward to every year.
