I used to shop at the Langley SuperStore nearly exclusively for groceries. I switched to them from Save on Foods over 10 years ago. The only other two places I would go regularly would be Costco and Willowbrook Produce. Their store is most often clean and well stocked in the mornings, however by the late afternoon on some days, their shelves can be empty. This is a volume issue where customers purchase the stock, but they rarely will restock those sold out items during the day, instead leaving it to be done by the night staff. If you track someone down, they will go get what you ask for (assuming that it is in stock, which aside from chips and pop they usually are), but that leads to the next issue. In the past few years, Superstore has significantly reduced the number of employees that are on the floor available to assist customers. They've also significantly reduced the number of cashiers as well. They used to have a "guaranteed all lanes open on weekend from 10am to 6pm" (if I recall the times correctly) where all ~20 lanes were staffed with cashiers. They needed them to as the copious number of people shopping during that time period was mind blowing. Now, they may have half of the lanes open, instead relying on the self-serve checkouts to handle the majority of the smaller purchases. I have no issue with the self checkouts and often use them myself, but the lines for the cashiers fills the entire front line-up area and backs up into the isles. (Note: This is not currently the case since the Lawblaws boycott began on May 1, 2024, but this review isn't about that.) However, over the past few years, there prices have significantly increased and when you compare the pricing to Walmart, Costco, Wollowbrook Produce, Save on Foods (to a lesser extent), and Amazon.ca (which I rarely use for groceries), the costs on many items are significantly more. Whether it's meat, deli, dairy, bakery items, staples (peanut butter, jam, tea, coffee, etc), I can often find them cheaper if I look through local fliers or online. Considering that everything can be researched or purchased online, even through online pickup orders for Walmart, Save on Foods, Safeway, etc., they appear to no longer try for competitive pricing. Even with their advertised claim of "lowest prices best deals" advertised on their website and fliers, it simply isn't true. Before Covid I would give them a 4.5/5. Now, I cannot rate them any higher than a 2/5. I wish they would return back to the way that they were pre-Covid. read more

There is no price match in this location and I was told by the manager that every superstore has its own pricing, than what is the use for the flyer becuse it should be same for every store's, and I sawed them the fruiticana store flyer and there said there can't match with them too. I was in the area and needed a couple items. Store was fairly clean. Unfortunately, I stopped by after a long weekend so many of the items were empty such as milk and yogurt. The store upgraded their refrigerator section which makes the section more energy efficient with food items covered. They should really do that for the frozen section as well. read more

Joe's clothing is always well priced and has funky designs. I like this place for the food (but NOT THE MEAT!)...and the range of ice cream flavours for children...so many GREAT and fun flavours that range from Root Beer to Cotton Candy...you never need to get ice cream out again. I guess they are usually more stocked up so you don't see the all the dirt and old spills. Really nasty. It is a big store... big deal, this review is more about the special thing you can look for at this location... Langley's Hot Dog Man... OK you aren't going to believe this. The dude who sells hot dogs out front of the Langley Superstore is the hardest working person I have ever seen. He is there 7 days a week, all day, every day. He starts the coffee pot in the morning for the first shift of Superstore staff, and he is there past supper time... every day. I have been going there for 7 years and have never seen the BBQ closed, or anybody else working it. Too bizarre. The hot dogs are reminiscent of Toronto street meat, and are yummy, but is it more about the bizarre omnipresence of this one guy. The store is one of the cleaner more pleasant locations, but make sure you come hungry and grab a dog on the way in. read more

And you can tell the company does not care about you as a customer, as they put no effort at all into customer service. Its all about the bucks. Worst Grocery store ever. My biggest complaint about superstore is that no matter if you go for 3 or 30 things it's a guarantee that they won't have at least one thing not in stock. Also, they never seem to ever tidy there shelves. They always look half stocked and picked through. And then when you have everything the lines are always long. We used to shop here but after so much frustration and wasting our time having to go to another store we now always go to the other store, even if it is more expensive. read more

September 19, 2009 12:30 pm. I go in to store to refill my 20 liter water jugs. The distilling/reverse osmosis machine is not working. It has no power, nothing. I go to customer service and wait in line 10 minutes. They don't know. I ask to find someone who does, she calls over her supervisor, another woman, she doesn't know. I ask them to ask the manager in case it's broken. He passes on that the machine might be refilling or is broken, and they are getting a new machine, but nothing to let me know whether or not I can actually use it. Honestly I have a love-hate relationship with this Superstore. The LOVE: - I was a Joe-fresh virgin until my first visit to this store... seriously all-right fashion in a grocery store? Who knew?! (Apparently everyone knew but me). I have to say the spring collection leaves a lot to be desired, but I do like to grab a little nail polish with my bratwursts, or some new shades with my frozen dinner. - Which brings me to the frozen dinners... fd's have never really been my style except that the PC Blue Menu frozen dinners are amazing. Chicken Tikka Masala... yes please! Bangkok chicken... I'll have seconds. AND they are often on sale for $2! - The LOADS of KETCHUP ripple chips have given my life new meaning. If you like ketchup chips, you understand what I mean. - The fresh salads are a must-try... fresh, cheap, delicious and (insider tip) free dressing! (I often stop by on my way home from a work-out... it's the kind of place where you can show up in sweaty gym attire and not feel under-dressed.) - The PC brand food is good quality... not like the 'no name' brand food. Try the non-fat Greek yogurt, and the frozen yogurt bars. (I wonder if it's the same? If so, the obnoxious yellow no-name packaging must be affecting my sense of taste). - The self-serve checkouts are fun. I like scanning stuff. The HATE (or rather, moderate dislike): - They are almost ALWAYS out of Loads of Ketchup Chips!! Apparently I am not the only ketchup chip lover in Langley. - If you want the 'people-of-Walmart' experience without going to Walmart, check out superstore at 11pm on a Tuesday. I come here because the selection, quality, prices and service are acceptable and the location is most convenient for me. Selection: Excellent for non-grocery items. Grocery items, not bad. I'd love to see a little more variety though, especially in prepared foods, Asian foods (especially given their relationship with T&T), meats and an expended bakery. Quality: Acceptable. Produce and meats are better than Walmart, but not nearly as high in quality as Save On Foods or Safeway. Prices: Pretty good, when they're on sale. Acceptable when off sale. I still buy everything I can at Costco. Service: Needs improvement. Few floor staff, with generally poor knowledge about the products in their department, and slow cashiers who don't bag your groceries for you. I don't have to have the lowest price, but I do wish I had more selection and better quality, and service to be there when I need it. read more

I care about $$ and this is the cheapest one stop shop around. Very convenient and everything else is quite a bit higher in price. I have learned to have low expectations with price and that shopping later in the day means what I might need will be sold out. But the new points system is great and all lanes open on Saturday is golden. I'm a lifer and the few times I have complained I have always gotten a decent response from the manager and a resolution. So can't really complain. I know I am getting what I pay for and can live with it. read more

Like others, it's love-hate relationship They keep moving things every time I go there. I have noticed they downsizing on many things like cereals. The only thing that gets me is that I can't buy everything at this store. There are some products I use and they don't carry them. But that goes for every store. For how busy they are I think they do a pretty good job. Every so often I get something bad like the meat is unedible or my watermelon never did go ripe before going bad on me. But I have found they always refund me or replace it. So they do stand behind their products. I do find the store a bit big. I find I always end up spending hours in the store instead of maybe 1/2 hour. But I like to see what they have and you never know where you'll find a bargain :) I find the staff at this superstore is nice. Unlike the other neighboring town where I was talked so rudely, and everyone was so miserable. I never did ever go back. I think it's not a bad store and as long as they treat me well I see no reason not to shop there. read more

I like your prices. Your customer service is ok. Greeting people , eye contact, and asking to help is sometimes good because it's called 'customer service' (woot). I've only had 2 good cashier experiences, they were so sweet, helped pack stuff in my bags. I kinda stopped shopping because of some bad experiences and went to safeway for a bit. weird creepy vibe from some of your security guards at the door. sometimes ignored at customer service. some times they need more staff to get items like the gift with purchase but one manager at one time said they 'dont' normally do that unless i was disabled' lol. my dad's disabled, you've never done that for him was my answer. I try my best not to shop here but sometimes yes the prices are better. Safeway is better at customer service like 9 to 1 but Superstore does have good prices. My favorite grocery store. Inexpensive and selection is great. Their meat department is their biggest downfall. I never buy meat there. I knew a deli clerk who told me some gross stories regarding lack of cleanliness. But for clothes baby stuff and dry groceries they are great. The prices at this store rival Costco and are sometimes better. The line ups are shorter, as well as having express lanes and self serve lines. The parking can be a bit of a chore though. But the main reason I continue to go to Super Store is Miguel the hot dog man. He is always a ray of sunshine. I have been going to this store since my youngest, who is now twenty was in kindergarten. My son loved him so much he would beg to sit outside and talk to him while I shopped. The hot dogs and smokies are so delicious and he serves all the trimmings with a drink for very very little. I always tip him well. He is a crazy worker and he works seven days a week. Superstore Mobile shop is well worth mentioning! I recently went there and with the help of Martin left with a great phone and plan, my 2 year plan ( $30.00 PER. MONTH) included the phone, plus a $50.00 gift card, Martin, the most patient person ever, and the expert when it comes to cell phones also made sure I knew how to use the phone before I left!! love my phone! I do agree that Hot Dog guy has been their for years and a hard worker. So happy they gave him his on space now as he deserves it. As for the store I find they have all these cashiers but never open enough of them. They now have the scan and go open but to many people are so slow the line is crazy. I have been going to this store one-two times a week for the past 6+ months. I usually have a good CSR at the cash who is friendly and chatty. Once, about a month ago, I had 25 items, took them to the self-check (which is 25 items or less--its on the sign next to the scanners), and when I had trouble scanning something in, the lady gave me a hard time trying to tell me i had too many items, and she would have to take them out to count them if i kept having trouble. ... whatever. I walked out mumbling that if they dont want customers in that line with 25 items, then maybe they should change the sign. I have been there twice in the past four days. The first time I had the most unpleasant CSR at the cash. She scowled the entire time, didnt even attempt to make small-talk, just glared because my kids were horsing around while i loaded the bags. ... Now, this second time in the past four days, I went in, apparently had less in my account than I realized, and when the CSR called over her CSM (the cust service mgr), the CSM just said - you are coming back, right. .. .She questioned my integrity as if I came just to waste their product. ... So, I will no longer shop at this location. Three strikes and you are out. read more

They have great prices....when they ring up properly! Change the prices on the shelf please!!!! This is the worst store for having incorrect pricing. Meat dept sucks-even the beef tenderloin is tough.Out of chicken thighs last 2 of 3 times i've been there (Fri nights around 6pm).Very seldom do i shop at this store when they have everything i need,and sometimes replacement product is not in stock for as long as a month!! I shop at Superstore all the time and enjoy it all the time. The bonus gifts are always great, like the gas credit form your grocery purchase, or gift cards and other goodies. you will never find any store that sells everything, and yes sometimes a product does run out, did anyone think that that product was so popular, or it's a non seller and you happen to be the only one that wants it.I think the staff are great and yes, just that someday they have an off day [I know not a good excuse, [when was the last time you had an off day] Have you ever tried cleaning up after 500 people have gone throught the shelves like morons. sorry to have said to much, but I hope some people read this and get the message read more
