This Superstore is located a few minutes drive to Port Coquitlam. We were in the area and had to do some grocery. I was surprised how quiet this Superstore was. The isles are wide and very organized. The items are quite well stocked. There are plenty of free parking underneath the store and in front of the store. It sells everything from toys, cards, shampoo to snacks, produce, meats and etc. read more

I did not want to make this post but now that it has happened twice, it seems to be a management problem. The cashiers are trained to round up your bill for charity without asking. Is that not illegal? It is a couple cents but with the amount of purchases a day, that is a lot money scammed. The cashier did not know how to void it so I was sent to the customer service and they mentioned it being only a couple of cents but ultimately refunsed me. Customer service didn't seem to care who is doing this so I suspect they were told by management to do this. read more

Nice large location close to Coquitlam Centre. Parking is plentiful in the lot underneath the building. Quite similar to the Richmond location. I've been here a few times and it's noticeably less crowded than the other locations, which is nice. Selection is decent, and the shelves seem well stocked. read more

This is my second review. I went to the Customer Service desk to find out what happened to the frozen orange juice I was looking for in my other review. One woman was there, already deeply engaged with a customer, so I respected that. Another had her back to me, and was folding blue t shirts. I stood there for awhile, made a little bit of noise, and no acknowledgement. I finally said "excuse me" and the t-shirt woman looked at me over her shoulder and asked me why I couldn't wait for the other woman to be done. BRUTAL! She could have been engaging. She could have been nice. She could have been helpful, even if she didn't know the answer to my question. This woman completely deleted the words "customer service" from my association with Superstore. Shame on you guys, you should hire better (you can't teach customer service, it's either there or it's not). The Customer Service desk should be setting the standard for good service. I immediately went to SAFEWAY and got my question answered. I was also met with a smile, friendliness and eagerness to help. I'll shop at Safeway now. This is me, flipping Superstore 3000 Lougheed the bird. I hope Safeway hires that German lady from my first review. read more

On July 10th I placed an order delivery on the 11th July. my card was charged. on the 10th $232.24 Charged on July 11th 255.50 (do not know why I was charged twice) Order delivered actual invoice was $184.18 Kept asking for my extra charges to be refunded. On July 17th I was refunded$255.50. Great. But then I was charged the $184.18 actual cost of the invoice. Where is my refund for the 232.24 still not refunded. They withheld $500 for my order of $184 and have not refunded back yet. I am a senior and live on a limited income I can not afford to have $500.00 deducted for weeks and not refunded. read more

This is only for the in-store Pharmacy. I went to drop off a prescription so that I could pick up tomorrow. I went to Drop-Off Prescription counter and there was a lady behind the counter flipping through papers no greater than 5 feet away from me. I stood the for 5 minutes and did not get any acknowledgement that I was even there. This has happened before but today was my breaking point. This pharmacy always seems to be in chaos and someone is always looking for something that was misplaced. I makes me wonder that if they can't keep track of the little things, what's to say that they'll make a mistake with my prescription. I won't be back. The rest of the store is great. read more

Been coming here once-twice a month for the past 10 years. Superstore is trying hard to live up to its name; jack of all trades selling sushi to shampoo. You name it they probably got it. They used to beat the competition in all categories. But lately that is not the case. Their organic section is a hit or miss. Surprisingly they can be pricier than other niche stores. It is a vast humongous store which I don't enjoy being in. Very much feeling like a chicken in a huge yellow coop. The Good; Price. For most part. 10/10 The Bad; Healthy offerings 6/10 (they are trying but still missing the point; instead of offering a wholistic approach, they view health foods as an ethnic group, some "organic" labels are green wash labels) Ambiance 5/10 (alienating, dehumanizing space and colour schemed interior; most of the time, I just want get out of there ASAP) The Ugly; Too much toxic/junk food. 4/10 Too much unethical food sources and producers 3/10 Overall score: Price 10/10 Healthy Alternatives 6/10 Ambiance 5/10 Questionable products 4/10 Questionable source/producers 3/10 Overall score; 28/50. 56%. I believe if you mindlessly shop there, you are likely to acquire a very unhealthy physical state which can be a lot more expensive down the road. Basically we have whittled down to only buy a few organic items from there every month. read more

The venue for a very much-enjoyed Cook's Brand, whole 'Skinless, Shank' ham -- purchased before, and for Christmas. The particular ham chosen, was a big one (weighing 3.5+ kg), and at the time, was so 'attractively-priced'. It's large size, and very meaty composition, provided enough ham for our Christmas Day meal, and for several dinner meals, lunch-time sandwiches, and snacks well-beyond. Plus, a wonderful ham-bone, and meat, for what turned out to have been 'the' best ham & pea soup ever prepared!! 'The' best Cook's Brand ham we have purchased, prepared, and tasted. Our thanks to 'Real Canadian Superstore' for this fine pre-Christmas offering. read more

I don't mind this store at all. I'm not usually in this area but I do bike at the Pitt River and in that area so sometimes after my ride I'll stop by here to pick up a few things. It's not usually busy (when I come anyways, dunno about the weekends etc.) and they have a decent size parking lot. It's fairly clean as well compared to some of the other stores...... read more

I've been shopping here for years. But not any more. Here's the good: -Lots of variety. -Sometimes there are great deals. And now the bad: Too much bad to list...this Superstore seems to be in trouble. Here are two recent problems: 1) Something is marked on sale. You try to buy it. The cashier charges full price. You show the cashier the picture of the sale item on the shelf. The cashier says, too bad, you have to go to Customer Service because I already rang it up. So, you go to Customer Service. There is a long line. You find everyone in line ahead of you is there for the same reason: cashier won´t give you the sale price. You wait and wait and wait...is it worth waiting that long to save a couple of loonies on one item? 2) Last year, a cashier was having trouble scanning my Superstore frequent shopper card (Optimum), so asked that I put it on my phone. Did that. Worked great. Then, many months later, a different cashier said they don't accept anything on mobile phones. I told her it was a cashier who asked me to put it there and it was working perfectly well last week. She asked that I go to Customer Service. Long wait. Still waiting. Finally, someone shows up and says I need the app on the phone because they won't accept my frequent shoppers card on a phone, even though they have been doing it for months (assistant manager said they should never have accepted it). I told her I could only use their app if they will provide a financial guarantee covering all my loses in the event of ID theft related to the app, which has already happened to me once with a different retailer. She said just put the app on your phone but there will be no guarantees indicating that if someone steals your ID and wipes out your bank accounts, that is your problem, not Superstore's (not her words, but that was the takeaway). Those are just two issues, there are many more. Something is going very wrong at that location making it difficult to shop there so I now just go to Sav on Foods or the Maillardville's Superstore. read more

Families can count on Superstore for everyday value that at times can beat Walmart. Probably the cheapest place for groceries if one is not shopping at Costco. Superstore fills the niche of bargain hunters who do not have the need nor desire to buy in case lots as in Costco nor do they want to pay premium price for buying organic and health food items in specialty grocer like Pomme. Most items including specialty health food items such as gluten free flour are better priced than anyone else in the neighbourhood. They also have a huge selection of ethnic food, although not the best offering compared to local Korean or Chinese groceries store, yet could satisfy most daily needs. The selection of Indian food is somehow very extensive so it is a nice place to get curry and paneer. Their bulkfood is not of great prices but if you needed just a scoop of something it is definitely convenient. Produce wise it has good price for organic vegetables and fruits but they are usually not locally grown but imported from Mexico. Their cheese and deli selection is run of the mill, but where they shine is the availability of no antibiotic added meat that is also no added hormone (although most Canadian meat by default is already hormone-free). Going there on strategic days could lend you 30% discount on meat net expiration days so that could help with budget for large families. The bakery section could quite be devastating if one do not plan ahead and end up buying too many tasty cookies and croissants that are baked in store and taste better than anything Walmart has to offer. Household goods wise there are always good selection and new products in dishware, gadgets, towels and everything else. Joe's offer everyday utility, workwear, sportswear and undergarment that are quite decent and affordable. There is a prescription department, a mobile phone kiosk, a hairdresser booth as well as car insurance counter in store to complete all your day's chores. Overall a staple in Coquitlam that probably have the most business of all groceries store. Hence the self serving stations are well utilized, and cashiers are guaranteed to b all opened during peak hours. It is busy any day between 11am to 5pm where all the moms are doing their shopping. The bottle return station is at customer service. Staff are usually polite and helpful with the exception of the staff stationed at the self help checkout. Parking is great and there was not a single time in past 10years that I cannot find a spot to park. Definitely coquitlam would not be affordable to live if there wasn't a Superstore. read more

Been coming to this Superstore for many years. & the Grandview one as well. Metrotown branch is just too insane. Many PC brand products are as good as national brand name products. Like PC smokies, potato chips , Salsa , Sports drink, etc Packaged food here has lower prices compared to other grocery chains. Too bad Superstores don't have an electronics section anymore. I bought my first game system in metrotown back in the day. & the discount DVD bin had some good finds. The points program is pretty good. Can rack up points pretty quick. Everybody likes free groceries. Many cashiers on duty during Saturday & Sunday afternoons until 600. Yaaaay no line ups. So thats when I like to go. read more

Christopher and Liam are the best cashiers. Great attitudes and always has a smile on their face.

It has two times that I go there and use my PC Master Card in the hope that I can earn some points and redeem later. Each time the cashier forget to enter my point. When I complain, she said sorry I forgot. I asked manager of the store and she said they are going to drop this plan. I asked those staff that offered me PC master card at first place, they said that is not true. What mess this store is. oh an they started to redecorate again. All stuff around pharmacy are in different shelf now. you know I am going to Save on and Wall mart again. read more

Ahhh (sigh) Superstore!!! I go to this location in Coquitlam quite often. Resons for that: -cheap -variety -lots of inventory -organic/health/vegan/gluten free section -international products aisle (indian, mexican, asian, etc.) -large selection of cheeses -clean, organized, spacious. For all those reasons, I give them 4 stars. I, personally, find this store a bit better than the other one in the area, however, the customer service definitely is not the best. I have never been able to find someone to ask questions. The store is huge so I have had to go all the way to "customer service" and then line up for quite some time to get help. The ladies at the deli department are really nice and helpful though!. Superstore offers the "no name" generic products which are not the best quality in the market but I find some of them are not too bad and their prices are good. Big stores like this, big and cheap, don't offer the best service but I do save lots of money in groceries every month so I guess I am ok without getting the big smile at the cashiers :) read more

Today around 2 pm I was in Superstore located on 3000 Lougheed HWY looking for green cabbage. I could see only a label but not vegetables. When I asked for help a staff member working in that area at the moment he said: "No green cabbage. We are not a warehouse". No sorry or something like that. My next question: "Why the label with a price is still there?" His answer: "I cannot remove it every time". The way he talked to me was disrespectful and derogatory. I do not think this is the appropriate customer service. I drove to No Frills and bought everything there: There was a label and vegie together! This experience do not encourage me to shop at Superstore. read more

Superstore might just be another one of those big box stores, but I have to say I support this empire. This location in particular is great - I say this because it has a great selection of organic foods and wheat alternate products. I have no trouble accomodating my dietary requirements at this store. Also handy is their photo and pharmacy (if you don't have prescription coverage Superstore is cheapest), and a suprisingly okay clothing department. How many places can you pick up a cute pair of shoes and a DVD to supplement your grocery shopping? I also like that they charge for their plastic bags - plastic bags are the bane of my existence and I know having to buy them makes people consume less. Also, their pricing is almost unbeatable, and having a hungry man to feed at home this always helps keep the food budget under control. However, minus one star based on the fact that this location to a lesser extent than others but still, is overwhelmed with junk food, and anytime a grocery which offers half junk and half real food I get irritated. read more

Well, it's a Big-Box store, what do you expect?? The Food: I expect it to cater to the general public, that being people that generally live off of processed foods. So, that's what you find in the Superstore: 95% highly processed foods; items where (to make) the packaging costs more than the actual product inside; everything is loaded with fillers, sugars, salts, preservatives, colours, etc. etc. Buyer beware. I run into the Superstore and grab some usual items that I eat, then run back out. The best part about this Superstore is the heath food isle, and the PC Organics line. Still VERY overpriced, but sadly, still the cheapest around (for many items); gotta comparison shop! Layout: compared to the other Superstores, it has a pretty good layout that allows me to do my Man Shopping (i.e. get in and out as quickly as possible). Homeless people: I've never been asked by anyone for change here, but if that ever happens, I'll tell them to f*ck off, and beat it, and get security on their butt (does security even exist there? I don't know). Deli: well, there's really no such thing as a real deli anymore, it's all manufactured processed food set out to look like it was made there or something, but of course it was not. The deli is just a sad joke for anybody that thinks it's actually fresh or something. Kitchenware: hey, their kitchen items have gotten way better. You can get some good quality silicone spatulas, garlic presses, can openers, etc. at a fraction of the cost of any 'specialty' kitchen store, such as my $25 Swiss made can opener that turned out to be CRAP, but now Superstore has even better quality ones for like 8-bucks). Clothes: I'd never buy clothes here, that's just stupid - so overpriced. Customer service: what do you expect from a big box store that is operated by underpaid teenagers?????!!!! Huh????!!! Of course it sucks. If I worked there, I wouldn't give you the time of day unless you threw me some spare change or something (that's where your spare change should be going, not to the bums in the parking lot!!). And the adults that work here are probably very depressed. So, go easy on them! For those of you who dislike the big ramp; get a bloody grip on yourself. It's just a ramp. It's not the end of the world. If you are too out of shape to push your EMPTY cart up the ramp... maybe you should rethink your lifestyle. Imagine, if there was an elevator at the Superstore... there would be a one-hour line-up to use that thing. The Superstore is doing a community service with that ramp. read more

I'll give them points for being the cheapest around. Otherwise, nothing stellar about this place especially this location. If using the underground garage, be prepared to be asked for "spare change" by homeless people. I've had one get quite hostile with me although most are polite. The ramp is a huge P.I.T.A.! (pain in the ass)! As mentioned by someone else, the carts are large and the ramp is narrow especially with the gardening stuff out. People! If you drive a car then you know the concept of driving on the appropriate side of the road. If you apply it to grocery shopping, things run much more smoothly! Seriously! Overall, I can't complain about the inventory. Yes, I've seen berries getting moldy in their plastic container and pointed it out to someone who worked there and they did remove it. The checkouts... Please hire more people! Like mentioned by someone else, there are about 15 lanes and only 2 or 3 are open. Line ups are brutal! Forget the ice cream unless you intend to eat while wait. read more

I would not recommend shopping at this location. We placed an order via PC Express for pickup on Tuesday night. We were told our order was not ready and that we could pick it up on Wednesday. My spouse went to pickup the order but had to wait about 35 minutes because the employees handling the orders was confused. That employee placed items in our trunk and then took them out saying it was the wrong order. But when he did that, he ALSO TOOK OUT OTHER BAGS THAT WERE IN THE TRUNK. They were Save on Foods bags that are a completely different colour from the ones used by Superstore. That employee then placed those bags in another customers car!! My spouse noticed and spoke to the employee who initially tried to lie about what happened. My spouse than spoke to Mike the Assistant Manager who said they would take it very seriously and try to track down the customer who was given the items we had purchased from another store. It has been more than 24 hours and they still haven't called us to provide ANY update on this matter. My spouse called the store manager Alan today and he wasn't concerned at all. This is theft and the RCMP have been notified. read more

It's a massive super market that tries to be something more. The aisles are nice and big, which is great... until they put huge displays full of things 'on sale' for $1 off (whoopee!) right in the middle - that just makes them narrow. I have a lot of gripes about this place and a lot of good points, but I don't want to grow old writing this... The good: - Lots of organic selection at decent prices. - They have the best fresh roasted chickens (the kind you buy whole) of any store I've been to. And they always have some ready in the meat section - Big baby section with frequent sales. Great for new parents like me. - Their 'Joe' clothing line is actually quite good. I only buy the kids clothes but they're good quality and at decent prices. - This store was completely renovated a few months ago and it is now much better. Very white - everywhere is white. However it's also much cleaner and has a better layout than before. - The PC brand of baked goods, dairy items (like Greek yogurt), etc is actually quite good. They usually have more variety than the bigger brands and I've only rarely had issues with quality (which they always fix). - Someone else mentioned being hassled in the parkade. I guess this is why I always see a security guard in there during the evening hours - safe to say that this issue is taken care of. Now, the bad: - Pricing errors all the time, on different items. Lots of times on the same item - Misleading price tags - they look nearly identical but some read 'buy in groups to get this price' and some read 'limit of 4'. The font is extremely small and I find myself confused sometimes, having to reread the labels. I feel that this is misleading and something which could (and should) be fixed. - Lines. Wow. They can get very bad. It's hit or miss... Except in the morning. Go at 6am when they open and you'll be alright in my experience. - The self-checkout software designers forgot that it's supposed to speed up the process. Instead the machine asks you to see the attendant, hand something to the attendant, or wait for the attendant constantly. As a result the attendant is always running around helping people who can't do anything until she arrives at their till. What a pain. I will continue to go here simply due to the selection and price - can't deny that they win in those areas. Definitely room for improvement, but I still have to recommend it. read more

Not too shabby, the only thing that bothers me is they don't have a great selection of fruit. Last time we came here, there wasn't a single orange. Bulk or bagged! My regular grocery store. I even have the PC MasterCard, which helps me afford the ever-increasing price of food. Feels good to ring my groceries through and have $40+ taken off, thanks to my points! Unlike other stores, whose reward points only get you items from a small catalogue, Superstore's points get you dollars off your food. I used to dislike bagging my own groceries but I'm used to it now and it's fine. This is my favourite grocery store because of the prices, selection, and the covered, free parking. It's "usually" well-stocked, although they do run out of dairy fairly fast. In their defence, I've seen customers with two and three shopping carts full of milk and eggs - probably running a restaurant or something. I like their prices on most things and find them comparable to WalMart for toiletries, which saves me a trip to PoCo. I also appreciate the security guards patrolling the underground parking and have never had an issue with vehicle break-in. Other than big crowds at certain times of the day/week, I have nothing bad to say about this store. read more

I wish they can make stuff better to read and understand. When I was buying something today on the price tag the only big words were the 2, $4.47. Normally I would see it as "oh it's two for $4.47" but no! The little words under the 4.47 says each 4.77 and beside the 4.47 it says it's 4.47 each if you buy two. The way they word it was so confusing I had to read 3 times to understand it, or it's just because my English is bad. I didn't want to return it because I already bought it but really, Plz I don't want to regret buying something. read more

I want to tell you how dissappointed I have become over the past 2 yrs with many of your products and lack of customer service. The last time I filled out a complaint form with the time I was at home to be contacted you called me hours before - obviously you did not want to speak with a real person) Not only are many name brand products being replaced with your Presidents Choice labels which don't allow us to choose, but I sit here tonite with friends doing our favourite wine, cheese and great new olives get-togethers and I am embarrassed with your Presidents Choice brie cheese round that I just purchased. Tastes terrible, too hard, never gets soft - good until end of Feb 2011 (what on earth is in it to last so long!) Gone is the large blue/white round (sorry, can't remember co. name right now) that is always so good. You only sell the small round now, so not big enough for all my friends. your produce section is full of wilted lettuce, bulk mandarin oranges already going mouldy (I now do all my produce shopping elsewhere) and when I come into the store, the greeter doesn't even raise his/her head to say "hello". Then I have to wait for several minutes at the till while a customer has to run to the service counter to get a coupon because she had more than $250 grocery bill and qualified for some bonus. Why couldn't your cashiers have some coupons with them to give customer who didn't know they'd hit the required total. I have gone out of my way to shop with you for my home and biz for years, and find that more and more of my list is filled elsewhere. Lower pricing does not always make it worth the lower quality Kelly Morris read more

Though I find most of the staff friendly and kind, and I can find a lot of what I need in grocery, health and beauty, I often find quality issues. I bought some No Name yellow brand deli ham and tonight as I was making my sons sandwich, I noticed between the layers of ham (as I was peeling away putting on the sandwich) some of the ham had huge mold spots on them. I went to bring the meat to the store with receipt, which I oddly kept because I do the surveys, and they basically said no such luck. Once meat has left they can't be returned. Which I get but this is a bit different. I even said i'll take a credit to spend in the store on other items. Due Date clearly states April 6th 2016. This isn't the first time this has happened with deli meat but the last time my husband dealt with it and told me too late for me to really make it aware to the store. I have cut back shopping at the superstore for plenty of reasons. But this is another one added to the list. I live central that I can luckily move around from store to store without wasting much gas at all. read more

I really like this Superstore. It's the cheapest in my area and they have a good selection. Having recently moved from downtown to Poco that really puts me in a new method of where I need to go to get deals at my convenience since I work all the time. But they offer good hours. The cashiers are very sweet. They try to let me know about some deal of the week and we have a good laugh about it since it's something I would never buy. If I could, I would work here too. Why the heck not. I love the openess and the fact that a lot of people don't shop there because of a silly ramp. Imagine going up a ramp to go to a Safeway on Denman st.
