Ahhh Superstore, of all the "megamart" places available to us, superstore ranks at the top in my books. It just has a lot of the stuff that I love all in one place and the prices here are almost always consistently cheaper than most places (overall anyway) First off I must tell you the one thing I love most about superstore and that is the asian ingredient section! From all the authentic sauces and canned, dry packed items to the whole spices (which are very modestly priced) to the rice selection and even the fresh stuff like noodles and won ton wrappers ect.. superstore really has some good items that you just cant find at any other mega mart! (at least in calgary) I always just love to take a stroll down the aisle and look at everything, and I buy a lot of my whole spices from here as well, things like fennel seed, cumin, peppercorns, cardamom! no other megamarts I have ever seen carry this kind of stuff in bulk and for me it is a huge deal! Usually you would have to source out some specialty spice shop or order off the internet if you wanted to get these spices in bulk at a reasonable price. So if you want to ditch the stale spices in those little overpriced glass jars then come to superstore and you can find them in big bags for cheap! A really decent selection too i might add! just head to the asian aisle and you will find them! So next off I really have to tip my hat to the very decent line of superstores flagship brand, "presidents choice" you may have seen the commercials with the head honcho of superstore, Galen Weston and I must say i actually think he is the real deal. I really like a lot of the PC products! they have some really good stuff, everything from ice creams to organic chicken stock to bacon! (which is actually really good!) , they have quite impressive "fast foods" that are always reasonably priced and quite often better than bigger commercial brands. Their line of products are just plain unique! So much more to say but I will end my review in saying that this location (and many of the other locations) can be pretty hectic at times, sometimes resulting in produce being grossly mistreated aka: piles of cilantro or parsley or dill that are basically dumped in a big pile hhahaha or onions rolling all over the floor, you get the picture. Overall , I love coming here and always enjoy a good shop for cheap n crappy dvds, Meat, bacon, asian items, rooster band rice and PC lychee soda! superstore (to me anyway) has a lot more personality and character than all the other megamarts that exist in calgary, if you have not shopped here come take a stroll, you just might like what you see and smell! ( they do sometimes stock durian here hahaha, if you dont know what that is , well its a fruit that looks like a giant sea urchin and smells like a baby's used diaper hahahaha no kidding!!) read more

Real Canadian Superstore - cars in a parking lot - Grocery Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

This place is terrible. They have the worst customer service and clearly cannot handle their click and collect business. I've had to wait over an hour on several occasions for my order to come out. They don't answer the phone and get at least one thing wrong with my order every time. I'm done with this place. The worst grocery store experiences I've ever had. read more

Horrible customer experience, and not the first time. Started scanning at self checkout and in the middle of scanning told that I can't use self checkout because I have more than 25 items, even though almost all self checkouts were empty. When went to cashiers checkout they put sign closed that till. I was in the rush, left full cart and won't shop ever there. read more

Real CDN Superstore (aka Loblaws) Five (5) Years ago used to be the go to, but since the Flu of the last Five Years, their quilty is mediocre, their prices have gone up continuously every month for the past five years. Sure Carbon Tax is part of the price increase casue, but Price Gouging is a lot of it as well. Customer service is Non Existant! They say they price match, but it's like pulling teeth for them to price match. They hum and ha, and try giving excuses as to why they can't price match as advertised. Products that have more then doubled in under 5 years, Foreign Products, made in Canada Products, Made in Alberta Products, more then Doubled in the last Five Years. P R I C E G O U G I N G !! Taking advantage of CDN's. They say they're not, but I haven't seen other grocery stores prices go up as much as Real CDN Superstore (Loblaws)?! read more

Store is your average grocery store. Cashier staff are friendly and try their best as do the staff stocking the shelves with fruits and veggies. But stay away from the customer service stand. The rudest, most unprofessional, most ignorant people I've encountered in such a setting. The clerk actually rolled her eyes at me as I was trying to point out an error she made in processing my lottery ticket. Instead of being accountable she blamed me, as if was operating the machine . As I was explaining my view she was actually reading a pamphlet as I spoke. (Full disclosure I told her "do not roll your f'n eyes at me," which I promptly apologized for as it was wrong of me). I asked for a manager who came over, then said she wasn't and found another manager. I tried to tell my story, but the constant interruptions and condescending tone made it pointless. Her final words were maybe your ticket will win." Amateurs. If I treated my customers as such, id be out of a job. We spend about $700.00 a month. You better treat me with respect. Do better Superstore. Train your staff in customer interactions and how to better represent your store. Very poor service from your floor staff. read more

This is my go to store for all my major shopping needs. I shop in person, pre order for pickup and even have deliveries made by Instacart when I am in need of a lot of items quickly. I make use of their PC Points program which has saved me a lot of money. The store is always clean and well stocked unlike places like Walmart, Safeway, Sobeys, that have shelves that have not been restocked. Even though I have to go across town I would not switch because the staff have always been friendly, helpful and informative. I enjoy their PC Optimum program which gets me even more money from my purchases and I receive insider gifts and tips as well as specials for members only. The store is very organized and efficient, Seafood and Meat selection meets most of my cooking needs and their vegetable section is always well stocked and offers great variety. I make use of the pharmacy and housewares for my health and cooking requirements respectively. Of course, I shop all the other aisles from dairy to international groceries to spices and condiments to frozen goods to whatever else I need. The only section I do not shop is their clothing. But give it time who knows. Best to go during the week as the weekends are very busy at the cashier stands. I use the self checkout whenever possible. Lots of parking and easy to get to. The ctrain stops right at the store at the Shaughnessy stop. Really handy when you are carrying a number of bags. Overall, I give this store 5 stars because I feel that strongly about their store. read more

Terrible store... I don't know who created this but I can't believe this place I s as popular as it is. They treat you like a criminal walking in through security detectors ( pay for your cart as well) The layout is really where it gets bad, it's odd, basically no categories like normal grocery stores. Finally the cashiers are awfully slow, they don't help you with bags and are rude. Frankly when I went to this place I felt like the cow going through a conveyor belt, industrial treatment. read more

First of all, this is my review #30 for the 30 Day Challenge 2012, so I just want to thank the Baby Jesus that I am now done. Second, in case the title wasn't intuitively obvious, this review is for the PARKING LOT of Superstore, not the store itself. You see.. the parking lot, really, is an entity in itself... an evil entity.... that I think deserves more attention. More psychological, more sociological, and perhaps, more criminological study. And if I knew what the "ology" was for exorcisms, what the hell, throw that in the mix. Driving into this lot feels like a game, but is surely an insurance nightmare. Yeah, down the street we have Safeway, Walmart, CDN Tire, Co-Op, Zellers. blah blah blah. Those are all the fancy places. What's the fun in that?? BOOOORING!!! No action. No guts. No glory. Nope. You drive into this Superstore parking lot, and it is game on. GAME ON!!! Being here, you have hit... HIT . . . the jackpot... the epicenter... of bad drivers. And I swear, I have almost never driven in here without having an accident. Seirously. I don't know why that is, but I'm fascinated by the question. . I encourage you to try, and add on to this review with your own. The answer is out there. #disclaimer: half cut while writing this. Yelp's 30 Day Challenge 2012 - 30/30 read more

This location really needs to renovate and catch up to the Southland location. Its getting awefully grungy these days. There's been a lot of buzz that this spot might flip into a T&T now that Loblaws has bought the chain, lets make it happen already! read more

Disappointing shopping experience not being able to purchase items on my list, again. I love the selection at superstore but holy crap, WORST parking situation of my life. I didn't even go at a peak time and it was the most stressful experience of my driving career... never again. The place is always busy and I am always getting into some shopping cart jam or stuck behind a large family that does not understand the concept of walking above a snail's pace. People seem to be extra annoying and slow when they shop here. Other than that, I love how much stuff they have here and their selection of produce is particularly good. read more

I have just bought new eyeglasses from the Loblaw Optical department at this Superstore , and would advise anyone to be very careful about making a purchase from Loblaw Optical because as anywhere else one does pay up front - however UNLIKE everywhere else if the lenses are not correct - tough bananas they will not make it right and do not refund back full payment only 50% of lens cost . My experience is not a case of didn't like the frame afterall it is clearly bad workmanship ! Very bad experience- very bad customer treatment . Never again ! read more
