I have shopped at Superstore for my entire adult life. They have cheap, and good produce, and unfortunately for this location, that is the ONLY plus.
First, I tried to find a cart. You need a Loonie to get a cart, which I believe is the same for all Superstore's. That is not an issue for me. I had 4 quarters, and went into the store to get change. I noticed the man, kind of like a greeter at Wal-mart, had a shopping cart with him. I asked If I could buy the cart from him with my 4 quarters. He blatantly said no, and was very rude about. I went to customer service, and got the loonie I needed, went back to the parking lot and got a cart.
I started shopping. After grabbing my produce, one of there employees asked if I was interested in there credit card, I politely said I was not interested, and he persisted to bother me, saying how good of a deal it was. I said I was not interested again, but that didn't phase him. The third time he finally left me alone, and I continued to shop.
However, this was the clincher...
We (I was with my girlfriend) noticed some dog food was labelled wrong in price. Knowing stores must sell at the advertised price, my girlfriend took one single bag to the cash register. They made her wait while they checked the price. Meanwhile, I stayed near the dog food and waited for her return. I noticed an employee come by on the phone and checked the price. 15 minutes later, nothing had happened yet, they had my girlfriend still waiting while they put other customers through the till. Finally 3 supervisors came to the dog food, and stood there for 5 minutes, looking at me, then back to price up on the dog food. I can only assume they were trying to figure out if I was watching them or not. eventually I walked down the aisle, and then back to the dog food, where I seen the 3 supervisors frantically changing the price while I was gone. I continued to shop while my girlfriend was still waiting at the till (approximately 25 minutes at this point). Finally my girlfriend found me shopping where she told me this; They said that the price was not labelled wrong, and that she must have read it wrong. They blatantly lied to cover for there mistake. They also swarmed her, and made her feel bad for even bringing it to there attention. If they had simply said no, the can not sell it at the price, it would have been completely fine. But to Lie, and make us feel bad was COMPLETELY out of line.
I had $250.00 worth of groceries at least, and because of the lying, I brought it to customer service. The 3 supervisors were there, and seen me. They immediately turned around, realizing they had been caught. I left my Cart, and walked out.
I will be calling the Manager of the store today to speak about this. I won't be asking for anything from him, because I am done shopping at this location. I only hope to make him realize that customer service is VERY important, and to have his employees lie to customers is beyond belief.
