What a huge grocery store, now this store has a pharmacy also sells clothing and seasonal garden plants. Staff was very friendly, help me find the product I was looking for. Since the store is so big I was able to get my steps in for today. :-) Great food selection that cater to all cultures in the community. There was food items I have never seen before. I really enjoyed my experience. In my travels I saw pies that I had to buy!!! -plenty of parking - note the parking lot is very busy! I will be definitely return. read more

Real Canadian Superstore - Ube Pie!! Key Lime Pie!! - Grocery Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

Huge selection, had everything I was looking for. Reminds me very much of Walmart in the USA. Little to no customer service avail for finding things but ok for self service. read more

Hmmm... my first 'Click & Collect' experience and I'm underwhelmed. The line you phone is general & I couldn't find the specific extension, so was shuffled around. Next, I was advised they don't have the buns I ordered & I don't want a substitute. Finally, i arrived right in the middle of my 3-5pm time slot (selected during the ordering process) and I was told that there were 2 people in front of me, and no ETA given. The wait was almost 30 min... Started to feel headachy. All this for a service fee, which changes depending on time of day. I'm not sure I'll use this again because I ended up just sweating in my car while I waited. Not seeing the value. read more

Grocery store is pretty great. (Well until they moved some isles... oh and installed cashierless checkouts with newly appointed gestapo staff to bark out orders)... The Pharmacy... well, THAT is an entirely different story: Possibly new management. And, I may say a change for the WORSE. Called in the prescription on a Tues. said Thurs it would be avail. I went fri about 2. The line up was like I've never seen. I was 15th. The line DID NOT MOVE for over 20 mins... multiple people came up behind me to join the line but subsequently left. There appeared to be a flurry of activity behind the counter with two very stoic pharmacists never leaving their respective positions at the computer... I returned at 7pm, one person in front! Score! NOPE. 20 mins.... Finally the new girl behind the till asks her to wait and signals for me to come. Then tells me it's not ready.... Come back in 20 mins!!! I ask to speak to the manager. Didn't get his name, but customer service wasn't in his training... listed EVERY excuse he could. Every. One. I detailed all of this to him, he could care less... "we have a new system... I was here till 4 am..." blah blah ... I simply said. "Do better"... As we finished our loud but(no cuss words), and I was walking away, he yells some comment... It was then I told him I'd take my business elsewhere.. He told me to do just that. This guy is a piece of work... By the way, there is a piece of paper with a note taped to the desk(for when you get there) mentioning the service... with a spelling mistake! I would 100% recommend avoiding this part of the store... unless you've got time to burn.... Oh and if you understand you're a lesser human when talking to this pharmacist.... read more

I order from Superstore quite often and for the most part it's quite a good service. However, I recently noticed (maybe I'm a little slow on the uptake here) that other stores like Walmart and Save-on offer "in store" prices. Superstore does not and this is simply not right! I pay a fee for delivery and a tip for the shopper, there is no reason other than greed for Superstore not to honor the "in store" pricing. Every other retailer is bound by the price they advertise, why are they able to get away with this? read more

Hi just wanted to leave my experience with Hampton's Superstore Click and Collect. I have just tried it a couple times and have mixed feelings... they had everything I ordered the first time and came out really fast even at a busy time.. maybe I was lucky? The second time there were like 20 things not on my order and they had me wait for almost an hour in the lot? I know it was likely just the timing of my pickup but to not have so many products in stock? This is not Click and Collect staff problems, but the store on a whole not ordering enough products? Anyways I will continue to try this service It is pretty cheap during the week only costing $3 and was waived some days for the pandemic... but $5 on the weekend? Why? Thanks and enjoy your trip... My favourite Superstore in the city, and clearly, the only one I go to. The reason I love this particular location so much is because it's in a good area (Edgemont), the crowd isn't sketchy (like I sometimes find it to be in the other locations of Superstore) and depending on which day you go, it's not always insanely packed. I also love that they always carry every single last item on my grocery list, including the items on my 'Indian shopping list' such as basmati rice and chickpea flour. The produce section is always well stocked and it's rare that they run out of items before restocking them. The prices are always reasonable and they carry Joe Fresh clothing which I love to peruse! The parking situation is also good and it's located in the Country Hills Plaza so you can pick up movie rentals, drop off your dry cleaning, pick up some pizza and even grab a couple of blizzards from Dairy Queen on your way home :) I've missed this Superstore in my years away and I'm planning to make up for lost time in the upcoming weeks :) See you there. read more

Staff were friendly when we went. They need more floor staff, but at the cashiers it was quick and fast.

Everything in Alberta is bigger. As superstores go, this one is pretty spiffy. It's worth a quick trip in if only for the Joe Fresh section, which this little British Columbian is pretty envious of. I love JF for work basics and this spot had more selection then Vancouver's stores combined. And the clearance... oh gosh, the clearance. Yes... I will buy 6 belts for $2 a pop. Beyond the expansive clothing/clearance section - this spot totes a pretty damn good fresh produce section which was lovely to see in something so big. And a decent little organic corner - tip of the hat to you Superstore. But really - this is pretty run of the mill. Better then Walmart. Cheaper then Shoppers. It's a Superstore and is great for Superstore type necessities. read more

Impressed! I have lived in Calgary for 9 months now and I am 9 months too late in finding this fine store. I will be damned if I ever walk into a Co-op again! Clean, well stocked, beautiful produce, well-priced to say the least and I was not even remotely nearly mowed down with a huge shopping cart! The kiwis were 33 cents each! The best frozen pizza I have ever had in my life was $3 from here! (had it tonight and saved big $ on take out) Yes, the store is large and be prepared to get some exercise to get your carton of milk. I bet you cannot come out of there with just your milk though! Whoever created the lay-out for this store is genius but that is just my opinion. I love it and it will be the only place I shop now! We got about 6 big bags of groceries for $50. And a case of water! And cat food! :) Love the self check out too. It scans easily and the counter-boy scans your coupons and discounted items with a smile! I love the location too, in a great part of town near our home. read more

Don't expect much and you'll be fine. If you need help of any kind forget it. Service is not what Superstore is known for. Low prices. But even then, you have to know your prices otherwise you may not save any money. What I hate is that you often have to buy 3 or 6 of something to get the lower price which is completely annoying as a single person. I don't need 6 cobs of corn. I only need 1 or 2. That's why I don't shop here much. Line ups can be horrendous if have more than what you can use in the self checkout line. And then you sometimes get the dumbass who has 50 items and takes his sweet time with it all. Those people should be banned from using these lanes. Produce can be hit or miss sometimes. I just don't think the drive is worth it for me personally. I refuse to buy meat or fish here because it just doesn't look right. And the bulk section sometimes scares me as I've seen people reach right in with their hands and start munching away. Geez! People have no manners. I have bought glasses at the optical place at one of the other locations. Price was good and it only took a week or so to have them made. In the summer I check out the bedding plants but again you need to buy 10 in order to get the lower price. Not worth it for the single chick here. At the end of seasons you can get good deals on stuff like today I got bbq brushes for half price. BBQ's, lawn chairs, tables and other stuff was discounted big time. read more

I typically enjoy going to the Gas Bar at the Real Canadian Superstore but I've now stopped because they regularly have people trying to sell or sign you up to their Master Card. Its worse then having telemarketers call you because they don't leave you alone and have a reply to every answer you give them. I'm in the middle of getting gas and they know it, so they continue to harass you with their stupid card. If I wanted their card, I would have gotten their card. They could have a less intrusive booth stationed where people can sign up if they wanted. Like at the airport. People don't go for gas to be cornered into signing up for another credit card. Good job superstore with your sketchy marketing tactics, you just lost another customer! Keep it up... Annoy more people! read more

Somehow my PC point card doesn't work in this location only. Spend thounsands of dollar a year, can't redeem any single dollar. My card work well every where else. Feel like it is a fraud read more

Would give it zero stars if I could. Absolute worst place for cluck and collect. Routinely takes more than 20 minutes (it's the closest big store to us and I do like their goods). Superstore get it together - the wait times are unacceptable and I'll go to Save on Foods where it's immediate service or Walmart or use a service before coming back. read more

I have been shopping here since 1997, but I never knew that one day I'd give these guys 4 stars. Count 'em! Back in the good old days, I'd rate them 2 or 3 stars at best... What has changed? 1) The produce section has moved to the centre aisle(s) and it appears that there's more shelving/layout space for all the different fruits and veggies (rather than having the produce lie around in storage). I wonder if they reduced the number of the bulk bins? The Bernard Callebaut bulk chocolate seems to be missing.... 2) The overhead signage in each aisle has improved immensely. The print is larger and there are more items listed on each sign. 3) Items seem to better stocked. Since going to Superstore is a bit further than going to Co-op, I sort of expect to buy all of the items on my list on a single trip. In the past, it was tough bananas for you (I like to shop around 8:00-9:30am; no later); over one-third of my items were out of stock or simply unaccounted for (e.g. Baking aisle: no dried apricots, raisins, almonds. Food wrap: no parchment paper, paper plates, or plastic wrap)! Well, I've only come here 3 times since their reno/reshelving, the acid test would be before Thanksgiving and Christmas. 4) Gotta love the cheese display. There are more display units to showcase their extensive selection of cheeses and pates. 5) They've added an in-house sushi and platter-making island. Did you forget to order something to take to a BBQ, concert or special event? Come to Superstore and get it then!! 6) It was easier to maneuver my cart around the rearranged aisles/shelving units. read more

I have been going to this Superstore for ever, it's great, it is usually well stocked. The staff is what you would expect in grocery store staff. The place is always super busy, although I personally take it as a challenge. I think my fine motor skills have improved from weaving through the crowds of people. So I guess I could say I am a better person due to this Superstore. Also, President's Choice products are amazing. read more

I love this Superstore; however, I recently had a horrible experience with Click and Collect that has led me to change stores. When I went to pick up my order, I called the Click and Collect number and was rudely put on hold. I was then told I was third in line and that I would have to wait. I waited for a half an hour for the clerk to bring out my groceries (she was the only one bringing them out, and I watched her take orders out to three other vehicles before attending with mine). You would *think* that someone could assist when it is busy (perhaps the rude woman who answered the phone?) But no, they left it for one employee to do, and it ended up taking more time waiting for my groceries with my engine idling (as it was freezing) than if I had gone in and just purchased my groceries myself. It is not worth the inconvenience/5.00 fee and totally undermines the point of the service. Save yourself the pain and try a different Superstore if you want to do Click and Collect. The Signal Hill Superstore has the Click and Collect parking stalls right at the side of the building, and the service is always incredibly prompt (what you would expect such a service to be). I will be going there from now on. read more

I wrote this email on the Real Canadian Superstore website regarding their click and collect service: Hi I just wanted to let you know what happened to me yesterday. When I went to log in on my PC at work I had to reset my password. That's fine. I picked a time slot and started my order. Later in the evening I tried to log in on my tablet at home. Had to reset my password (not sure why). Finally got logged in, it took about ten minutes because the saved password kept defaulting in and trying to log me in and your website is very slow. So now I'm logged in, but my cart is empty and I don't have a time slot. I decide to start over. After watching the circle turn every single time I hit enter or search, I was 5 minutes in and had one thing in my cart. So now I have been at this for 20 minutes. I log out, go to the Walmart site and 5 minutes later I have my order in ($120) and ready for pick up (for free) today. I really want to use your service but your website is impossible and you will have to make some major changes before I come back. Ironically the website wasn't working and I couldn't submit it!! read more

Today was a crazy day for shopping at Superstore but it wasn't because it f the staff. Customers were rude and abusive to staff who were trying to deal with a crazy influx of shoppers. This Superstore had already sold 4 flats of flour that day alone and was out of bottled water by 5 o'clock. People are stocking up out of fear of the impending Corona virus threat. Superstore staff 5out of 5 stars. Patrons 0 or less for patience, respect and sanity. read more

I've been using Click and Collect's service at Highland Hills in Kitchener, Ontario for over two years. For the first year and a half I was very happy with it for several reasons: produce selected was almost always top notch, wait time was always low, usually 5 minutes or less, staff was friendly and helpful, making it a pleasant experience. In the last 4-6 months it has gone downhill fast. The staff are hit or miss with their attitude, sometimes it's great and other times you don't get more than a grunt from the millennial bringing your bags out. They no longer hand out treats to kids in the car (not a deal breaker, just an example), and the errors with the orders is the biggest disappointment. I have been billed for as many as 3 items in an order that were not put in my bags. I have also ordered multiple items like salmon fillets or apples, only to receive 1. This is likely a website issue because it has started reducing quantities of items after they're in the cart, so I now have to read through even the summary email to ensure it hasn't done that. It is frustrating to plan out every meal every day to a "T" and then get home to find 1 salmon fillet instead of 4, I can't feed a family on that. By the time I get home, I'm not driving back there, nor should I have to, as it's in another city. I have had to call in to their customer service number numerous times, and although their service has not changed, it is always apologetic and willing to issue credit vouchers, it is annoying to spend that time on the phone when the whole point of paying for this service is to save time. The last issue is the gift box. They used to give you a gift box every now and then, as advertised in their flyer, if you spent a certain amount of money, usually around $175-200. In the last 6 months at least, that number doesn't go below $225. So when I see a particularly appealing gift box of items I know we like and will use, I add extra stuff that we don't need, but will eventually use, to my order. Case in point was today. My husband went to pick up the groceries, my order online came to $226 and change but they made a substitution which brought the total down to $220. They didn't give him the box. Given how many times this has happened in the last 6 months I warned him it may and to call me. So he did and I called in, and spoke to a regular worker. I explained that if the total isn't high enough because they failed to have the item in stock that the website showed them having, that's on them. She gave him the box and putting up a fuss. This service has gone from fantastic, and one that I've personally recommended to many friends, to one that I dread dealing with. I will be trying out another service in my area, hoping to find one with consistently pleasant employees. read more

Out of the two Real Canadian Superstores we frequented while living in Calgary, this was our favorite. Parking was pretty good, and this location was clean and well organized. I loved shopping at these places because they have *everything* (pharmacy section, tons of food, bulk, housewares), and the prices are good. Some of our favorite plates came from here, we still use them YEARS later - never break or scratch up, and they were cheap. And actually look kind of trendy. Totally miss shopping here. read more

About a month ago they rearranged everything. The two biggest changes are the addition of the optical department (yay) and moving the produce into the centre of the store (weird). As with most stores, produce quality varies by time of day. In the evening it looks like the lettuce has been fighting amongst themselves and all the apples have rolled around the store a lap or two. I like that pretty much anything our house needs is in this store, usually at a decent price. I think in the renovation they removed a few self-checkout machines, which is a bummer, since I hate the experience of the cashiers rolling vegetables down the conveyor belt at you. read more

Hubby and I were spending a week in Banff and thought we should get groceries in Calgary before heading into the mountains. This place is exactly how it sounds - a giant superstore. Like a cross between Costco and a super Walmart on steroids. All of the food we bought here was great. But the place is so huge and overwhelming that it's really difficult to find what you're looking for. read more

I have been shopping here for 13 years , bakery department-awesome. Deli-awesome, they know what I will be buying and how I like it wrapped. The pharmacist that I have ordered from is one of the most caring I have ever come across. Basically this store is like family with great prices. When I go to other stores'especially CO-OP and Safeway, I get mad when I see the prices, sometimes double. I make my shopping more pleasant by going early before the crowds , always keep a loonie in my car and I have green bins for packing. Simple. The liquor store also has great staff and prices. read more

Terrible service. I called the customer service number at 2:46pm, February 24th, 2013. A young lady that answered the phone asked what I wanted and then put me on hold, eventually, the phone started to ring again and she answered the phone again stating that she wanted me to hold on for another minute. The phone stared to ring again and the youndg lady stated that there was no one working in the section she transfered me to (I was never told that I was being transfered to another section) and that she was gount ot transfer me to the manager. This was a total of 6 minutes. I will never call or go that Superstore again and that store is the closest one to me. read more

The parking at this Superstore is pretty open during the work day and it's well organized. However, I'm not a fan of the looooong isles in comparison to the Centre Street North location where they have shorter isles and more of them, which I find makes for less needless walking (not that I'm lazy, but it's not efficient shopping). Also, this Superstore has significantly less self check-out terminals which makes for more waiting (if you prefer this process), also needless when the store isn't that busy. read more

It's alright. Bought a BBQ today, good value but trying to find someone to give me a hand to pick it up was a nightmare....I ended up asking a nice lady in the pharmacy bit for a hand and she did but the previous few people seemed more intent on clocking out than helping out...sort that out the customer service and it would be 5 star review. read more

Wasted money and time!! This was a review I just sent to Superstore regarding Click and Collect: 'To whom it may concern, I don't usually write comments to businesses for fear that I'm wasting my time and these comments go unheard, but in this specific case I thought I'd best say something to you. Last week, Wednesday the 19th of April we used your click and collect to buy roughly $140 worth of groceries. At the time, the order we received seemed to be perfect and the service was great so we went on our way. However, the next morning we realized that two of our fruit items: raspberries (in plastic packages) and apples (in 5lb bags) were rotten and covered in mold. I thought to return all the fruit but could not find the receipt so I did not bother. We are usually quite selective about picking our fruit, but I gave click and collect the benefit of the doubt and decided to use them when the women assured me that the produce they select is very good. Needless to say, this is the last time we use click and collect, as we've lost trust in your system for selecting quality product! I'm disappointed, as I was really hoping this would become our new method of shopping. Thanks for your time and review of this. Sean' read more

As we have a coronavirus crisis, I decided to try to get grocery pick up from Superstore in Calgary. This turned out to be a nightmare. Superstore's website was very poor and it was difficult to order the groceries in the first place. The earliest time I could pick up my order was two weeks from the time I ordered it. This is a ridiculous amount of waiting time. On the day I was supposed to pick up my order, I received a phone message saying it was not ready and would be delayed for at least two days. This was too long to wait so I tried to phone to cancel the order but all of the telephone lines were busy. When I finally got through, I got a message that the mailbox was full and I could not leave a message. i finally had to phone the store to cancel the order. The next day, I received an email saying my order was ready. I had to phone the store again to cancel the order. This is a stressful time to have to buy groceries in a store but I am back to doing this because of the incompetence of this terrible store. read more

I have been shopping at this Superstore for 16 years and really appreciate the people who work there. I especially love the ladies in the housewares department who are very helpful, the deli people are great and the dairy guy is very kind and helpful. When people call Superstore "Stupid Store" I take offence as I find this insulting to the great people who work there most of which have been there many years. If anyone says Superstore is "inpersonal" they haven't taken the time to notice the people who are there restocking shelves, cleaning and helping you find one of the many thousands of items they carry. read more
