Title: Poor Communication, Lack of Responsiveness, and Unprofessional Experience…read more I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at South Lake Counseling, particularly regarding communications with therapist Alexia Manning and office manager Jessica Alvarez. I have been requesting a copy of my therapy session notes, which I am legally entitled to receive as part of my medical record. Despite multiple emails and calls explaining that the request was TIME SENSITIVE, I received no clear follow-up, no timeline, and no sense of urgency. I also reached out to the office manager, Jessica Alvarez, and received no response at all, which was very frustrating. To be clear, I was not asking for forms to be completed or changes to diagnoses -- only for my existing records. As a patient, delays in accessing my own medical documentation are extremely stressful and concerning. It also made me feel ignored and unimportant as a client. While my in-session interactions with Alexia were polite, the lack of follow-through has been unacceptable. South Lake Counseling has shown poor responsiveness, poor communication, and a lack of professionalism in handling a very basic and reasonable request. I hope the practice improves its administrative processes and communication, so future clients do not have to go through this.

I have seen several other therapists who say they are CBT users when in practice they are not. I have been seeing her for 3 plus years And I recommend her to everyone who is looking for a down to earth therapist they can converse with who can help to improve their quality of life and mindset and who is a good person. She continues to offer me tools that I apply to my everyday life. I am more at peace within myself for knowing her. She is the BEST

She creates a safe space to air grievances while cutting through fluff-talk to access the underlying meaning. Although it's hard for me sometimes, she has helped me with verbal control and accepting contrary opinions. The waiting room is walled off from the front desk with a loud cold window. And when the front desk staff opens it they aren't kind, proficient or friendly. It's so odd. For $15-$20 an hour surely they could replace each employee up front. And build a wall separating the back offices so that when you walk in you right away see a friendly and kind face. There is no wifi for waiting parents or family members. And the chairs are in need of replacing. But I'll rate at a 2* because the actual care staff seem good.
