Where do I begin?!? We had just gotten the pre-approval from the bank and were in desperate need of a real estate agent. We literally sat with our phones and started googling real estate agents, we called a few but most of them were either busy or we just never heard from them. We were just passing through and noticed the big Remax MiCasa logo and we decided to call the number. The receptionist referred us to Alejandra Muñoz, we spoke to her briefly and we immediately had a showing scheduled for the following day. Alejandra is also a person that communicates with you with everything that is happening. The whole process of buying a home is quite challenging but Alejandra really went all out to make sure we had the house we wanted. Once our offer got accepted, we had to wait for the fun part of having the loan go through and unfortunately for us that was not happening because of the loan officer we were working with. We were just waiting on the appraisal and the loan to go through, but our loan officer wasn't responding to our messages. Once he did the answers, he provided were not conclusive. The listing agent was already considering putting the house back on market because the lack of response from our loan officer. Even through all that stress and panic mode, we were lucky enough that Alejandra referred us to another loan officer, Sergio Soto whom works with Caliber Home Loans but stays within Remax Micasa. Sergio was another exceptional guy, we were already two-three weeks in just waiting on the loan and appraisal to get through, but Sergio made everything possible and completed it within days! (speedy fast). If it wasn't for Sergio's talent, we would've lost our earnest money, inspection fee and most importantly the house wouldn't have been ours. In the end everything brighten up for us, we got the home and are almost a month in from the closing date! Working with Alejandra was one of our best decisions we ever made. We both are very pleased that we were just passing through that day and notice the big logo. read more

I don't understand how this place is running a business. I called to request information on starting my home buying process and asked to speak with a realtor in which I was asked to leave a message. So I went along and left my request to speak to a realtor and it's been almost 9 days and I haven't heard from neither the realtor nor the main desk. I don't know if this is discrimination or just pure carelessness. With that said, I can just imagine how disorderly and unprepared this real estate office can be when going forward with a closing or applying for a mortgage through their brokers/lenders. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR LISTING AGENTS, WASTE OF TIME. We found a listing managed by RE/MAX Mi Casa and reached out to the listing agent, Marcelo, not sure what his last name is. My husband and I are currently expecting and are looking in the Cicero area. Marcelo came off as a polite person who seemed to know what he was talking about and was fast to respond which I appreciate. We set up and appointment for tonight at 7 PM, I had just gotten off work at 6 and it took me an hour to get to the location. I arrived promptly at 7 PM thinking I was going to be late. I texted Marcelo and let him know we were waiting out front, he responded and said "give me 5 min please." I responded, no worries, as I work in real estate and know how agents tend to run late. 15 minutes go by and I hear nothing back from him. I decide to give him a call. He answers and says "I'm looking for parking, you're at Spaulding, right?" The apartment I was touring was not on Spaulding. It was on 47th Ct. I let him know it wasn't and asked to completely cancel the showing considering it was an awful neighborhood, it's dark out and I'm pregnant. Horrible customer service, horrible listing agent, didn't even apologize or tried to reach out after I hung up out of frustration. I drove an hour just to find out he wasn't at the property I wanted to look at. The apartment is 45 minutes away from where I currently live. Just an all around horrible experience. With no desire to even try and get us back as clients. It felt like a set up. read more

Joe Castillo was recommended to us by a close friend. During our home buying process we have met most of his family and we ended up loving all of them. My wife and I are very "pro-active" individuals so we would non-stop send listings to Joe and his office to schedule showings. He filtered many of them out for us and pointed out things we missed that were deal breakers. We must have seen over 70 houses in 3 months. We went after work during the week, during the weekend and even late after hours if needed. Even if Joe was busy, he would send his dad, Jose to shows us the houses. Jose is a real estate veteran who is very knowledgeable and very funny [not sure who we liked more :)]. Looking at houses with Joe and Jose was a very pleasurable experience, they answered all of our questions and exceeded expectations. Unprofessional agent named Marcelo had us meet him at a house in Cicero that took us an hour to get to just for him not to show up, and in top of that he didnt even apologize about no showing on us when my wife and I called to ask where he was. Our appointment was at 7pm after we got out of work but after standing outside of the house for 15 min we called to ask if he was close, just for him to tell us that he was looking for parking, then asked if it was some other house that we weren't at? It seemed very sketchy and unprofessional. Do not recommend. read more

I used this company to find an apt. I hate looking for apartments and I can be very picky. So I saw an advertisement for a 2 bedroom with a balcony etc on the 2nd FL listed. The "Realtor" Don was very polite when we spoke. I went to check out the apartment but as we walked up the stairs I noticed that we'd passed the 2nd FL. I didn't say anything, I just followed his lead. When I walked inside the place it was nice and roomy. I LOVED the sink counter space along with the extra area for a kitchen table. Nice size bedrooms and plenty of closet space. I was so overjoyed when I saw that it had a balcony. I never had one before so it was nice. Well, the "Realtor" Don showed me the 3rd FL and I really liked it. I paid the $45 app fee because I wanted it so I waited for Don call. I waited and waited then I finally called him myself. He mentioned that he wasn't seeing the income how I can pay the rent which confused me because I had a voucher which is counted as an income plus my employment. Hmm? Then I noticed that the phone calls between he & I wasn't the same after I filled the application & paid the fee. He said he had classes or something so he didn't know when he could assist me. So he mentioned that I can check out the 2nd FL (that was listed in the first place) Then he lay one on me...He said the 3rd FL apt (that I paid an $45 app fee and liked) was all of a sudden taken. Hmm? That was quick. I wondered was the 3rd floor just a show because the 2nd FL wasn't ready? I don't know but I felt something fishy. Now remembered my income hadn't changed that he said he wasn't seeing the numbers. He said I can check out the 2nd FL that was the same price. Hmm again? So I looked at the 2nd FL and it wasn't the same and plus you could hear loud noises from above. Don "The Realtor" mentioned a few other places that he said will be available or one that was too far and in an area I wasn't interested in living in. I liked what I had seen the first time and that was the 3rd FL. I felt that my $45 was wasted and I was mislead. I try to be good to people and treat them with kindness but I felt used. My $45 could've been used for a good caused instead of this BIG waste of time. I was VERY disappointed. Never again. read more
