If you want to live somewhere where you are treated like a number and not an actual person this is…read morethe place for you. They will steal the last penny off your body if you were laying in a street somewhere and not even blink twice. I just recently moved out of this complex and during the move out they tried to charge me for damaged flooring that had to be replaced which was actually in someone else's unit. After going back and forth with them for two weeks I ended up consulting with a lawyer and provided them with evidence so they finally dropped the charges for the flooring replacement. But still charged me $124 for cleaning the carpet in a 12'x12' room after general wear and tear. They said it was because of "beyond normal wear and tear" which was a result from carpet stains that were there previously caused before I moved in. They said the charges were accurate even though I told them multiple times when I moved in I found splatter marks all over the bedroom walls and a weird stain on the floor which I ended up having to throughly clean myself. I will provide photos of the dirty walls/carpet that I found at the time of moving in for you guys. I also took an entire day to throughly deep clean the unit at the time of move out and I was still charged $200 for a cleaning fee in a 400 sq ft apartment because it wasn't perfect. I had ended up packing my vacuum the night before and only had a couple things to do the following day during move out. So the apartment was thoroughly cleaned and pretty much empty except for a blowup mattress at this point and my dog's bed which left behind some dog hair that I could not visibly see at the time. If I noticed it I would have wiped it up immediately. They ended up providing me with super up close photos of dog hair on the floor and told me it would need special cleaning... I understand a cleaning fee would be required and I accepted that but they refused to break down what the cleaning fee was actually going towards. They just said "cleaning and dog hair." My best friend is a property manager and she said that cost was VERY high to clean a unit that small and for an apartment that I also had previously cleaned. They are keeping my $250 deposit and charging me $200 for cleaning and $124 for carpet cleaning... if you move here don't even bother cleaning and taking care of the unit at the end. They are going to charge you no matter what and try to tact on extra fees. Please see attached photos of how I left the unit as well as photos of all of the weird marks on the walls/staining on the carpet that I found at move-in. It looked like someone just threw a bunch of food into the corner of the bedroom. The splatter marks started at the bottom of the floor and almost reached to the ceiling. I also want to add that they also use a lot of scare tactics here. They threaten you with evictions and pre-collection notices the second they get a chance. They really don't like to take the time to nicely communicate or treat you like a person. They just scare you into submission. One time I was asking the manager on advice on if I should transfer into a bigger unit or renew my current lease. Instead of responding like a human, he just said he's going to evict me if I don't pay for my apartment. I had a week before any kind of payment was due. Also, during all the back-and-forth with me disputing all of their fees at the time of move out they sent me a pre-collections notice even though my payments that I am disputing aren't due for another 15 days. Like I said they love to use scare tactics and not treat you like a person. If you know someone I can report them to please let me know! Whatever you do do not move here! It's really unfortunate because it's such a beautiful complex and all of the tenants are so sweet! But the management really really really sucks. You deserve better!

Initially I attributed this to the city's power grid failing, but all power/WiFi/heat is working in the building facilities. So if you were living in say, the gym, this would be fine. I, unfortunately live in a $3000/month one bedroom and am now booking a hotel down the street so I have reliable wifi for work tomorrow and heat overnight. Management has been responsive, but left with little explanation aside from saying that this is the city's problem. In my 11 months here this building experiences, on average, one outage per month so I'm not confident in the response and I believe this is attributed to poor electrical equipment/planning on the part of the builder. In conclusion, what's say we add a rent credit for my hotel room? First photo is my ambient candle light in the 55° (and dropping) living room, second photo is the well lit hallway with heat. And yes, I have considered just keeping the front door open to warm up. #luxuryliving

She agreed to keep looking around and sent me some links to places she found. Every place she sent me was outside the geographical area I wanted to live in, and in really bad parts of town. I kid you not, according to google street view, one place was across the street from "Ideal Fadez & Colorz". I emailed her back and politely reiterated where I wanted to live and asked if there was anything else she could find. Her response (and this is copy/pasted): "I am not seeing any right now. Check out our website and see if there is anything else you are interersted in and I wlll be happy to show it to you." Is this a joke? The whole point of getting a realtor is to cut out the legwork. When we first moved in, the management team was fantastic--friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. Unfortunately, that team left about 5-6 months into our lease, and Elias took over. From that point forward, communication became practically nonexistent. When it came time to move out, we had communicated our intention to leave with the original manager, but we had not submitted a formal written notice. Because of that, we were required to pay an additional two months at the month-to-month rental rate. When we asked whether the previous manager could confirm our earlier communication, we were simply told she couldn't do anything. Fast-forward to now: under yet another manager, we discovered that a $191 utility balance had been sent to collections. We only became aware of it after noticing the impact on our credit scores. We ultimately paid the balance to resolve the issue. When we spoke with the collections company, they were unable to see any emails from Elias regarding the balance. Our experience showed us just how dependent Greystar properties can be on whoever happens to be managing the property onsite. We went from having an excellent management team to extremely poor communication and, ultimately, a collections issue that affected our credit. Based on our experience, I would never recommend Greystar to a friend or family member. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
