Last winter, the bottom of the gate dropped down so far that it was stuck on the concrete sidewalk below it, it couldn't be opened or closed. We needed to have P&E Construction come out to saw off enough wood from the bottom to make the gate moveable again. The top latch and the bottom lock still require periodic adjustments (relocating them on the gate) in order for them to work properly. I was told by P&E Construction the reason for this problem is the holes for the gate posts weren't dug deeply enough so the only way to remedy this issue with the latch and the lock once and for all is to rip up the cement covering the holes, remove the posts, dig deeper holes, replant the posts, and pour new cement. It's easier to do the periodic adjustments (roughly once per year) so that's what we have P&E Construction do. I'm stunned Fine is still in business, based upon how many clients he's burned, according to these Yelp reviews. In short, very substandard work and no accountability afterwards. In my case, I was told the problems I'm having are my fault.

Our new deck is like a piece of furniture, our updated bathrooms are much prettier and far more functional than ever before, and our dry basement is a pleasure to see (and smell), especially in light of the extremely wet weather we've had over the past few months. We are very much impressed with the depth of your knowledge and your reliability, dependability, and attention to detail. Moreover-and this is a perfectionist speaking- the high standards you set for yourself and your work, the quality of your work, and the pride you take in it, are things money doesn't usually buy in the home improvement business. We are happy to recommend you to all our friends and acquaintances, and we look forward to working with you again on the innumerable fix-ups our home needs.

Shlomo was patient and offered his input as we figured out what design and materials we wanted. His team was able to move an outlet, build and install the shelving and cabinets, and mount the TV. We are very happy with how it turned out! Just a note that they specialize in custom work and keep a busy calendar so it may take some months from start to finish. Our project took even longer due to holidays and other work being done at our house. The price was higher than other companies we got quotes from due to the custom work but we felt it was well worth the quality!

From the moment we reached out, Shlomo was prompt, responsive, and understanding of first-time homeowners on their first project. Shlomo came to our house and walked through with me the two concepts I had in mind. He asked key questions that helped better shape the ideas, took the necessary measurements, then followed up in short order with a clear proposal and quote. The pricing was competitive and within our budget. Once we decided to move forward, the team delivered on the carpentry faster than we expected. Max and the team who did the carpentry were friendly and understanding of two tired parents who had to work in the house through the day. The work they performed was impeccable. The final product? 1) Built-in bookshelves with a table-height counter and drawers below: a showstopper and the new centerpiece of our living room; and 2) a ceiling-high pantry cabinet in our kitchen, attached to a new counter with a built-in garbage/recycling drawer. We are thrilled with the quality of these pieces, which have truly made our new home our own. If you are looking for cabinetry work in the DC-area, we unequivocally recommend you go with "As It Should Be." They will do great work for you.

The experience with JT Custom Builders made me wish I'd found them sooner! Not only are my bathrooms absolutely gorgeous (you can see more pics on Instagram under #cantonbathrooms), but the crew also left my house so clean every day! They protected every space on the way to the workspace and swept before leaving daily. All the subcontractors I encountered were trustworthy and courteous. Jimmy himself is incredibly honest about any issues that come up and potential solutions and I did not get the dreadful feeling that he was squeezing every penny out of me whatsoever. The quality of the work is exactly what we discussed beforehand, and I would keep in mind that you get what you pay for - not just the finished product, but the experience, too - especially if you're living in your home during a renovation! 5 stars and I love my bathrooms every day!
