We took him up on it a d in 1 1/2 hours, a new bumper was mounted and we were headed back on down the road. Very impressed with Robert and his craftsmanship and at a great price no less. Appeared to be a quality job. Jared was professional and responsive. Fast forward a year or so, in November last year the gate started falling (the top anchor bolt started loosening) and the gate has been hitting and rubbing. Pretty soon it won't be able to latch. I reached out to Jared immediately via text several times. Even offered to pay him, though clearly this was a faulty install. No response. Called him, no response. Eventually by some miracle I got him to answer after 2 months trying on and off, he said he was in an attic and couldn't hear me. I could hear him. Then I couldn't get him for another week or two. Got him one more time and as soon as he heard my name and property address he hung up. Now I think my calls are being blocked. I haven't been rude or unreasonable, just wanting to know if he can come fix my gate. Apparently Precision Ornamental has no other recourse for any follow up besides Jared. I think he's the owner and only staff member. No office staff, the website email option didn't bear fruits, and the physical location says they are located at the Staples Office store in Washington. I haven't been to check it out, but I think it's phony. Jared appears to be alive and not in any distress, I have spoken with him, but he refuses to answer further or call back. Just goes straight to voicemail. Jared if you are reading this, I will gladly take down this review and post a better one if you will call me and come to my house to fix my gate. I don't think it will be that difficult, so to avoid a job like this seems completely insane. I intend to pay another gate contractor within 2 weeks of this post if I have had no response. I already have calls in to a couple. Until further notice, if anyone is considering Precision Ornamental, I would avoid them at all costs. There are plenty of quality contractors out there. Long…read morestory short communication started off pretty decent but then Jerrod would not return my messages or at best one message for every 4 or 5 of mine. On Sept. 9 he told me it would be installed in 4-5 weeks which later side it should have been installed on Oct 14. Today is Nov. 12, almost one month later and still nothing, and he has not responded to my last 3 messages. Complete flake. Consider taking you business elsewhere or you may go through the same ordeal I did. I will find another company to install my gate.

I worked hard, busted by butt until my heart was having some issues, I'd make sure to help other employees as I could, and I would listen to direction, but they fired me the weekend after I asked my co-workers about their starting pay. Engineered it incorrectly twice. The brick pillar they screwed it into was pulling off the wall and they refused to do anything about it even though it was their engineer who approved it. Said the brick wall was our problem. Because they wouldn't fix it, and other companies were booked out for 6 months, we reinforced and reinstalled it and found that the anchors they used were cheap and shoddy not to mention half of them were not actually used! Needless to say, it's very unsafe to have a 1000lb gate installed so poorly. I think this is a case that could be brought to court or the BBB, but I don't want to mess with it. I'm just glad it was obviously dragging and not closing right so we could prevent it coming down on a child. Please do better so you don't hurt someone. Quality assurance, and checklists for your crew would fix this if they actually would follow it.

We were made to feel once they took half the money as down payment, they just didn't care. They blamed the delays on powder coat delays and Covid. We called multiple times but all they did was hand us off to other people in the company. The gate was finally installed this week and we are super pleased with the installation and craftsmanship. If someone could have just communicated with us and kept us informed due to time issues, would have been very helpful and we would not be as disgruntled as we are today. If you're looking for a great gate and do not mind waiting three months from start to finish, with little to no communication, Steel Creations is your go to company. My advice to this company is to communicate honestly with your customers upfront and let them know it is going to take 3 months. Don't tell us it will be 4-6 weeks at the most (just to get the business) and then fail to communicate with us through the process.
