Mert and Winston are the best, and they are SUPER nice. They have been taking great care of our Subaru Baja and Outback for many years. They do great work, keep you fully informed, and know what your Subaru needs. I highly recommend RBMS Auto Care for any and all of your Subaru mechanical needs. read more

I've been owning Wrx Sti for 10 years and RBMS is truly the best shop that I visited. Winston is not only fixing my car but also giving me wise wisdom and experience that money can't buy. This is my first time bringing my Sti to RBMS for a valve cover gasket, an evap cel code, and a random rattling noise issues. Winston was able to diagnose and fixed them all; especially the rattle noise which 2 other shops in San Jose couldn't find. I finally found a shop that I can trust and bring my subie for any service from now on. read more

I was referred to RBMS by Mike after GST closed down, and boy am I glad to have connected with them. Winston and Mert are two top notch guys, with both the mechanical expertise and knowledge to work on my Subaru WRX, as well as having the professional and courteous attitude to interact with customers. I had a long-standing CEL (the dreaded P0442 leak) and it was coming up on smog time. Winston took me in, got the parts in ready for smog time, and tried to finally diagnose out the P0442. Though the process was more convoluted than expected, they have gotten me and my car back to the right spot. CEL free and all emissions lights off, so she is running back to full power and efficiency--I'm so happy to have my baby back! Thanks so much Winston and Mert, you've earned another loyal client! read more

Time will tell how the work holds up but these guys lived up to the reputation I saw of having great Yelp reviews. I shopped around since my Timing Belt is due on my 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i (non-turbo) with 107,000 miles. When I drove in to get a quote, Mert answered all my questions. I saw they had a lot of Subarus in their lot and one being worked on. They beat Oakland Subaru's quote by $1000 ! Plus, I would be getting a new radiator, hoses and coolant on top of the Timing Belt, Tensioner and Water Pump. When I dropped off my car, Winston said it would be ready the next day. They called me to inform the price of the radiator went up a little bit than originally quoted to see if I wanted to proceed. I understood and agreed to proceed since the radiator gets pulled already to perform the Timing Belt work, plus I don't want the radiator failing on some long road trips I will be planning to drive in the near future. Later that same day they called me that my car was finished! They stayed a few extra minutes passed closing so I could pick it up same day. Professional attitude from both Mert and Winston. Had nice talks about other Subarus, Mitsubishi Lancers/EVOs and their rare Altezza wagon parked in front. read more

No other shop in the East Bay is as knowledgeable about performance JDM vehicles than RBMS. They live up to their reputation. I've been coming to RBMS / Mert ever since they opened 4 years ago. They provide amazing service and extremely straight forward and trustworthy. I brought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra here with brake issues (as seen in the pictures) from another Tire shop and they were able to show me the rotors and pads were rusty and I had be cheated out of me at the other shop. They helped give me options on what I should do and gave full transparency on what my options on. I would highly recommend them for anyone that needs a trustworthy and transparent mechanic. I drive from San Bruno here to Hayward because the quality of work is worth the drive. read more

Honest pricing, easy to work with. They did my timing belt for me on my old Impreza. Mert was helpful and has a lot of experience with Subarus. Hard to get on the phone because they are in the garage most of the time (not a knock on them, just requires patience and planning ahead). Would recommend! read more

Mert and crew worked extensively on my cars fueling system about 2 months ago. A friend of mine had his done by them and since the system I had in mind was quite similar I chose RBMS to take care of the job. What I had done -Fuel Injectors -Fuel Rails -Fuel Pressure Regulator -Surge Tank -Dual Inline Pumps -Inline filter -Ethanol Content Analyzer -Race -8an Fuel Lines -Turbo -Intercooler -Radiator -Thermostat -Radiator Hoses Very long hefty list of work. Took approx 1.5 weeks but left the car there over my vacation so it worked out perfectly. 1 time job and guess what NO FUEL LEAKS WHATSOEVER. Everything went perfectly. With so much extensive work, one leak at full pressure may have been possible but Mert got this all done without error. Car made a whopping 386whp/397wtq on a decently conservative tune. Let's hope for more next time!!! Very happy with their services and will be back for more. Check my uploaded photos for the work done! read more

These guys are the best! If you have a Subaru .. take it here. So far they have helped my with a Forester (engine rebuild) and a Saab 92-x .. Top notch work on both! read more

Its a little hard to find. They are at the very end of an automotive business park. If you want a cushy couch to sit on, freshly brewed coffee, and sparkling water while you wait for your car, this isn't the place. This is a place to go if you want your car fixed, you want it done right, at a better than fair price, and you get treated with respect. Mert and his crew know whats up; they have been in the business for years, and now, they have finally opened up.their own shop. Mert is a Subaru whiz! But I would bring an import or domestic here. They do autocross too, so they know how to make a car go fast! read more

RBMS is my go to place for my Subaru WRX. Mert and Winston are top notch mechanics and they can pretty much install anything and everything. Subaru's seem to be their forte and you'll see WRX's and STI's there. I love looking around their shop and seeing all the nice cars that are being worked on. There are some waiting for built motors and others waiting for different parts. They will do your regular maintenance work like oil changes but most people come to them to install some "performance parts" like exhausts and engine work. They have reasonable prices that sound like a bargain to me and they are always honest. It may be hard to reach them at times because they are busy working on cars but if you keep calling they will pick up. They have a nice waiting room with free coffee, and xbox, and TV. read more

Quick update...went back for 30k tune up, plugs swapped and to get a couple more bolt ons. Again, Mert was super helpful and accomodating. Did an etune after picking my car up and absolutely issue free/no troubleshooting needed. Thx for the work guys...car is running great. read more

Hands down, the best Subaru repair shop in the East Bay! I've had the opportunity to Deal with Mert and Winston, both are very easy to deal with and hold high knowledge in regards to all Subaru models. They have fair pricing and have high standards to the quality of work they perform. Whether you're looking for maintenance work or need a full race application build, you can trust Mert and Wiston to deliver. RBMS has been the only shop to touch my WRX; in which they performed all my maintenance work, did my STI 6 speed swap and wired my aftermarket DCCD, and they also assisted me in my full on Darton sleeved EJ257 long block build! Do not hesitate to deal with RBMS! read more

It's been a while since Mert has worked on my car and I'm late to write this, but Mert has the best garage in the Bay Area hands down. Can't believe the number of sweet subies I saw at his shop. If you have a manual Subaru that has the dreaded weak/broken spot weld problem that causes horrible squeaking, causes the pedal assembly to move, and inconsistent clutch engagement points whenever you're using the clutch, Mert is the guy to go to! After researching the forums over and over, the only fix for this problem is re-welding the weak bracket the OEM way which will probably break again OR you can replace and secure the clutch pedal assembly bracket to the weak firewall by drilling holes and using bolts and washers to secure it. After calling Subaru to see if they could fix it the OEM way (welding) and getting an estimate, they said it would have to ship my car out and take over 2 weeks and cost thousands of dollars. I found Mert through people who have posted on the forums who have had this job done. I made an appointment, dropped my car off and he finished...the same day!! And as for everyone else's reviews about fair pricing, they are totally right!! Mert also gave me a discount because I brought him a new replacement clutch pedal assembly that I bought myself from Subaru and also since I partially secured the clutch pedal bracket during a DIY job I did a couple months back lol. Bottom line, Mert finished the job for me very quickly, for the right price, and with high quality work and service! read more

Mert and Jojo and staff are awesome! There's not really a whole lot more to say. I love cars and expect a lot when it comes to mechanics, performance tuning, and autocare. This is my go-to place! Mert and Jojo are super friendly and super responsive to your needs and concern. More importantly, they can get the job done correctly in a reasonable amount of time. I've had my share of shops doing lousy work on my car. If you've ever waited months to get your car back... or recently repaired car doesn't doesn't seem right... or the mechanic/staff aren't responsive to your inquiries... Know that RBMS Auto Care are not any of these things. RBMS can get busy, but know this... there's a reason why they are busy, and that is because they do good work. Customers go where they know the work will be done quickly and correctly. I recommend RBMS to all my friends and family. I rate RBMS 5 stars for their quality work, quick turn around, and responsive and honest staff. Mert, Jojo, and staff has done everything from oil changes to timing belt services on my cars, and I will continue to come to them for future services! read more

This review is overdue! But had my 2012 outback serviced and Mert completed, the timing belt, radiator, spark plugs and water pump to ensure it keeps running in optimal shape! Being in the automotive field for over twenty years I have grown very picky about shops. I needed to get a service on my SO's car and RBMS came up with strong support on the forums. even though a holiday weekend was ahead and they were super busy they were able to fit me in. From the minute I walked in I knew why they were suggested to me. This is an enthusiast shop with no frills or gimmicks. they clearly love cars and it shows in their work and what they drive. The service was done super fast at an excellent rate. I would not hesitate to recommend them for any level of service! read more

After hearing good things from friends in the car community, I decided to drop by RBMS after some issues with my car arose after a few bad experiences at local shops/work done in the past. I went to RBMS for maintenance/installs that I couldn't easily handle on my own and Mert was always happy to squeeze me into his tight schedule and provided/informed while the work got done in an efficient manner. My car had been in a miserable state after a plethora of issues but slowly/surely we got the car back to tip top shape. Over time/lots of conversation and recognizing the quality of work Mert and his coworkers @ RBMS performed, I decided to go all in and essentially rebuild the car from the bottom up. We built the motor, swapped the drive train and addressed much more. After completion I cant speak highly enough of their work. The build quality, attention to detail, and completed job were all second to none. Throughout the build Mert communicated with me at all times, was ever mindful of anything that came up during the build, and was honest and up front which I genuinely appreciated. After visiting all the shops I have over the years, I can say confidently that I've never met an ace like Mert and his crew @ RBMS, and my car will never see another mechanic! read more

This review is long overdue. When I used to have my 2002 bug eye WRX, this was my go-to shop. Mert does a great job of explaining what the problems are and what possible future problems can come about. I won't go into the list of work that he's done, but he's done it all- from oil changes to O-ring and gasket changes and a lot in between. His pricing is great, and his work is even better. I read a review about not getting through on the phone. I've always just popped in unannounced, and Mert and Winston always make time to go over what work needs to be done. Any future Subie's that i own will definitely be brought here for work. read more

I've known Mert (Toto) for a long time now, since my SCCA fun run days. He's an excellent mechanic, very knowledgable. I highly recommend him, doesn't matter what kind of car you drive. RBMS Is a hella cool shop to go too! Mert knows what he is doing! I had my coilovers, lower control arms, stage 1, tranny & differential flush, and short shifter installed here. No complaints at all about this place from me. I love this place, and will continue to come here whenever I get parts for 2011 WRX sedan. He does it all, and for the price I honestly can't it's horrible. Whoever needed their Subie worked on I highly recommend this place. And also they have a spot you can chill while your car is getting worked on, you can watch Netflix and literally chill while you wait for you car. Lol. Thanks Mert, and I'll see you soon! read more

Highly recommend this shop! One of the few shops in the Bay Area that I trust with my Subaru. I've never felt like I was getting cheated after leaving here - they do high quality work at a reasonable, honest rate. Mert and Winston are some of the most nicest, genuine people you'll ever meet, and they really do want to take care of you and your car. With my most recent visit, I had my pads and rotors done, and I was in and out in no time with an appointment. They also provide customers with a lounge to hang out in while you wait. If you ask the community for recommendations, RBMS is always suggested. There's a reason this place has the reputation is does! read more
