I was referred to RBMS by Mike after GST closed down, and boy am I glad to have connected with them. Winston and Mert are two top notch guys, with both the mechanical expertise and knowledge to work on my Subaru WRX, as well as having the professional and courteous attitude to interact with customers. I had a long-standing CEL (the dreaded P0442 leak) and it was coming up on smog time. Winston took me in, got the parts in ready for smog time, and tried to finally diagnose out the P0442. Time will tell how the work holds up but these guys lived up to the reputation I saw of having great Yelp reviews. I shopped around since my Timing Belt is due on my 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i (non-turbo) with 107,000 miles. When I drove in to get a quote, Mert answered all my questions. I saw they had a lot of Subarus in their lot and one being worked on. They beat Oakland Subaru's quote by $1000 ! Plus, I would be getting a new radiator, hoses and coolant on top of the Timing Belt, Tensioner and Water Pump. When I dropped off my car, Winston said it would be ready the next day. They called me to inform the price of the radiator went up a little bit than originally quoted to see if I wanted to proceed. I understood and agreed to proceed since the radiator gets pulled already to perform the Timing Belt work, plus I don't want the radiator failing on some long road trips I will be planning to drive in the near future. Later that same day they called me that my car was finished! They stayed a few extra minutes passed closing so I could pick it up same day. Professional attitude from both Mert and Winston. I've been coming to RBMS / Mert ever since they opened 4 years ago. They provide amazing service and extremely straight forward and trustworthy. I brought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra here with brake issues (as seen in the pictures) from another Tire shop and they were able to show me the rotors and pads were rusty and I had be cheated out of me at the other shop. Mert and crew worked extensively on my cars fueling system about 2 months ago. A friend of mine had his done by them and since the system I had in mind was quite similar I chose RBMS to take care of the job. What I had done -Fuel Injectors -Fuel Rails -Fuel Pressure Regulator -Surge Tank -Dual Inline Pumps -Inline filter -Ethanol Content Analyzer -Race -8an Fuel Lines -Turbo -Intercooler -Radiator -Thermostat -Radiator Hoses Very long hefty list of work. Took approx 1.5 weeks but left the car there over my vacation so it worked out perfectly. 1 time job and guess what NO FUEL LEAKS WHATSOEVER. Everything went perfectly. With so much extensive work, one leak at full pressure may have been possible but Mert got this all done without error. Car made a whopping 386whp/397wtq on a decently conservative tune. RBMS is my go to place for my Subaru WRX. Mert and Winston are top notch mechanics and they can pretty much install anything and everything. Subaru's seem to be their forte and you'll see WRX's and STI's there. I love looking around their shop and seeing all the nice cars that are being worked on. There are some waiting for built motors and others waiting for different parts. They will do your regular maintenance work like oil changes but most people come to them to install some "performance parts" like exhausts and engine work. They have reasonable prices that sound like a bargain to me and they are always honest. It may be hard to reach them at times because they are busy working on cars but if you keep calling they will pick up. They have a nice waiting room with free coffee, and xbox, and TV. read more

It's been a while since Mert has worked on my car and I'm late to write this, but Mert has the best garage in the Bay Area hands down. Can't believe the number of sweet subies I saw at his shop. If you have a manual Subaru that has the dreaded weak/broken spot weld problem that causes horrible squeaking, causes the pedal assembly to move, and inconsistent clutch engagement points whenever you're using the clutch, Mert is the guy to go to! After researching the forums over and over, the only fix for this problem is re-welding the weak bracket the OEM way which will probably break again OR you can replace and secure the clutch pedal assembly bracket to the weak firewall by drilling holes and using bolts and washers to secure it. After calling Subaru to see if they could fix it the OEM way (welding) and getting an estimate, they said it would have to ship my car out and take over 2 weeks and cost thousands of dollars. I found Mert through people who have posted on the forums who have had this job done. I made an appointment, dropped my car off and he finished...the same day!! And as for everyone else's reviews about fair pricing, they are totally right!! Mert also gave me a discount because I brought him a new replacement clutch pedal assembly that I bought myself from Subaru and also since I partially secured the clutch pedal bracket during a DIY job I did a couple months back lol. Bottom line, Mert finished the job for me very quickly, for the right price, and with high quality work and service! read more

After hearing good things from friends in the car community, I decided to drop by RBMS after some issues with my car arose after a few bad experiences at local shops/work done in the past. I went to RBMS for maintenance/installs that I couldn't easily handle on my own and Mert was always happy to squeeze me into his tight schedule and provided/informed while the work got done in an efficient manner. My car had been in a miserable state after a plethora of issues but slowly/surely we got the car back to tip top shape. Over time/lots of conversation and recognizing the quality of work Mert and his coworkers @ RBMS performed, I decided to go all in and essentially rebuild the car from the bottom up. We built the motor, swapped the drive train and addressed much more. After completion I cant speak highly enough of their work. The build quality, attention to detail, and completed job were all second to none. Throughout the build Mert communicated with me at all times, was ever mindful of anything that came up during the build, and was honest and up front which I genuinely appreciated. This review is long overdue. When I used to have my 2002 bug eye WRX, this was my go-to shop. Mert does a great job of explaining what the problems are and what possible future problems can come about. I won't go into the list of work that he's done, but he's done it all- from oil changes to O-ring and gasket changes and a lot in between. His pricing is great, and his work is even better. I read a review about not getting through on the phone. I've always just popped in unannounced, and Mert and Winston always make time to go over what work needs to be done. RBMS Is a hella cool shop to go too! Mert knows what he is doing! I had my coilovers, lower control arms, stage 1, tranny & differential flush, and short shifter installed here. No complaints at all about this place from me. I love this place, and will continue to come here whenever I get parts for 2011 WRX sedan.
