After the combined failures of attempting to open an account and apply for an auto loan I didn't think dealing with this place could be any worse. I mean, I wasn't going to bank with them or do any business with them so how could it get worse, right? Wrong! I told them to delete anything resembling an application and to make no future contact with me. So naturally I should have expected to receive texts and emails on a daily basis. I blocked emails, but kept receiving emails. I texted STOP, but texts don't stop. To me the appeal of a credit union is that you avoid the impersonal touch of big national banks. RBFCU not only has the long hold times of a big bank, they also have tons of clueless call center people who will make you feel even more frustrated based on their inability to help. And now, I'm getting texts at midnight telling me to finish my membership application. AT MIDNIGHT! Let me translate this for the one RBFCU employee that's tasked with pasting in a generic response about how much you care. That midnight text to me says, "Hey, are you sleeping? You might be since you have to be at work at 6:00 AM, but hey, finish this application RIGHT NOW for a bank that is currently closed." See the irony or the sheer stupidity in this tactic? I know, I know, you hired some marketing company, somewhere that you don't control and they just press "send". So let's make this real clear, the next time I have to ask you to LEAVE ME ALONE will be in person and I assure you that exchange will be one you wished you didn't have. I have had an account with RBFCU for over 2 decades. I have my checking, my kids, my car finance, etc and I go there to have a paper signed by a sibling that as the executor of my mother's estate I need signed, and the manager at this location would not let the teller do it. I had my brother sign the same paper in Buda rbfcu and another brother at Kyle, RBFCU, and those managers said they could do it since my name was on the form and it was for me who was the RBFCU member. This manager,Liz, said well who did you talk too, what day, and I told her I have the papers in the car I can show you, are you saying I am lying to you. So long story short, I wasted 30 mins and she would not do it because my siblings were not a member, I even offered to pay just because organizing to get together to get it signed was not easy and she said they don't charge so they could not do that either. Then because I was desperate I go next door to wellsfargo, I have no account there and neither does my sibling, and they do it for us. these branches have lost their community and customer service Is really no longer important to them read more

This place right here.... they have some new atm that deposits money. DO NOT USE IT. This bank needs to get their sh** together. I have lost my debit card twice from this card eating BS. The teller claims it was a "PIN number issue" which is absolutely not the case considering it accessed my account and allowed me to insert money in it. The machine glitched out, ate me debit card and took half of the money I deposited. The inside was closed so the lady at the front pretty much said to go wait in the long line and talk on the screen, how professional. The screen told me that it could take 7-10 business days for someone to come look at the machine, and ordered me a new debit card. Oh boy!! Now I get to wait a week to get my debit card back, change all of my bills that match that card to a new card AND I don't get the cash for god knows how long. Get your crap together RBFCU, this is unacceptable, it's the first of the month and people have bills. UNBELIEVABLE. Seems the big banks have their acts together with depositing ATMs. Ones that don't eat your card and screw you out of money. Greatest advice you'll hear: No bank is a good bank. The local branch is friendly enough but you don't actually deal much with them. In the process of an auto loan, I had to go in multiple times because the last person entered information wrong (in person or in these terrible video conferencing rooms) or because they didn't fix an error that the previous visit and phone call were supposed to fix. A week after I bought a vehicle the loan was still not finalized because they had called the dealer and asked for outrageous paperwork from them, stopped payment on the check for the vehicle and wrote the loan for the wrong amount a half dozen times. Every time you call, you talk to a different person who then leaves you on hold for 15 minutes while they read your file and then turn around and don't do what they just explained on the phone. I used to like FCUs because they were more personal. RBFCU is the exception. read more

Went to open a personal checking and savings account after running into some annoying policies at Travis County Credit Union and Savannah was super friendly, explained things in a way I understood and helped me open the accounts pretty quickly (they let me know when I walked in it would take at least a half hour). I liked that there was a friendly greeter so that I didn't have to figure out if I should stand in the teller line or talk to somebody else. Other customers walked in and greeted employees by name. It's a nice branch although I'm sure I'll do most of my business using their online services or app. Even the branch manager, Sarah, came to say hi and thank me for joining. Love the services they offer, mostly free. It's too bad it's mostly those few that had bad experiences have written reviews so far. I really think those are the exception rather than the rule. read more

This is the credit union from hell! They're very unprofessional and rude. I've only been with them for 2 months and they have charge me over $100 in fee. They did not inform me of limited of withdraw from saving account to checking. I went to asked them after the second fee. They only quote me that's federal regulation which that all they seem to know. I want to closed my account and withdraw all my money. They sad it will be couple day to get my money and when I said it's ok they change their tune and said will be in 2 weeks. WTF! Its' my money. DO NOT OPEN ACCOUNT WITH THEM! Impersonal, puts you in front of a computer screen to open an account, wait forever. Wanted to open a IRA CD, they don't want your money. Employees are just sitting around doing nothing while you are looking at this screen for 20 minutes or so to open an account. No friendly employees, just cold and impersonal. If I were able to give 0 stars I would. I came in for a vehicle loan for a cargo van and was placed in front of a computer screen for about an hour to help facilitate my vehicle loan. At that time, the person on the monitor took all my information and pulled my credit and said they would get back to me that "all looked good!" I left thinking that I would hear from them the next day and could continue my vehicle purchase. 3 days later and After many calls to the credit union and to their main office I was able to finally get an answer that due to the kind of vehicle this was I could not buy a "commercial" vehicle through my personal account. This information was not told to me when I asked to finance the cargo van. 5 days later, I was able to find a caravan and when I went back into RBFCU (and I honestly didn't want them to have my business, but they had already made a hard inquiry on my credit.) After returning for the 3rd time to the credit union to try and expedite this loan for the new vehicle they pulled my credit for the 2nd time. 2 hard inquiries, 3 credit union visits, 5 calls to the main office and when I was at the closing table with the dealership, they were unable to talk directly to a RBFCU personnel. Tried calling them for over 30 min to confirm the loan and finally after several attempts were able to get a person and get all the paperwork processed 3 days later! I will never take my business to RBFCU again and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I just opened a account with RBFCU and they've already exceeded my expectations. I was approved for a auto within a matter of hours of submitting my app during non business hours with clear defined terms and reasonable APR. I also asked for a small loan to consolidate some debt and was approved immediately with very good APR. So far great experience. read more
