Dropped in on a Thursday afternoon. Currently appointments are available on the half hour and spaced an hour appart to allow for walk-ins. Once things open up more, may be mostly appointments so always good to call ahead. You can call or text for an appointment which is great. I found Mark friendly and professional. Happy with the haircut which is most important. He follows all the current COVID protocols, requiring face masks, hand sanitizer and temperature check at the door. Has a nifty touchless temperature taker you stand in front of to get your temp. If you're looking for a spa or salon experience, this is not your place. Despite other reviews saying this barber was a jerk, I gave him a try. He was civil but didn't seem to take my requests seriously. He ended up giving me a generic "man trim", which I had to fix when I got home. If you're just looking for a basic boring trim, this barber may work for you. If you want to have any say at all about your hair, stay away. read more

I smile as I read the comments made by "Other's" about their Razor's Edge experience. The name says it all. The Barber cuts with an electric razor. One of the best. Medium length to short cuts. He is a barber not a stylist in a salon. You want to look like Beaker from Sesame Street or Branch from Trolls go some where else. Watching Mark for 8 years I would say he reflects his customers. The type of human being is easily misinterpreted. Humor abounds just a bit "dry & rye". The Razor's Edge is appropriately priced for an efficient cut. read more

We recently moved to Sebastopol and I was looking for a place my husband and two boys where they could get their hair cut. When I saw this barbershop I stopped in to check it out and inquire about his rates. Boy was I left speechless by the owners lack of professionalism. I was enthusiastic and introduced myself then asked about his rates and that's when he snapped at me and said: " don't you know how to read? The rates are posted behind you!" I quickly turned, read his short rate list and left as quick as I could. Needless to say I was and have been stunned! Guess his business is doing great that he doesn't need 3 new customers. Mark has been cutting my hair for 15 years. Almost all of his customers are long time regulars, and he and his shop have been staples in Sebastopol for decades. I have been to dozens of barbers and stylists over the years, with different moves and all. I haven't found anyone who can fade like Mark can. read more

Unfortunately I have been here a few times. Each time I have had to tell the owner (Mark )what I wanted and each time got a different sub-par result. Today he botched my hair and instead of offering to fix it, Mark threw me out of the barber shop for inquiring about the cuts deficiencies. I can't comment on whether he cuts hair well because I never got that far. As I sat in his barber chair on my first visit, he asked me what type of haircut I wanted. I told him that my old barber used a number 3 clipper. He started to laugh, and when I asked him why he said, with a patronizing tone, that only "amateurs" use clipper numbers. Really? I told him I was uncomfortable and would not be getting a haircut after all. I said thank you and as walked out of the shop I heard him call me an "a**hole". Wow. This is a great local barbershop! I appreciate supporting local and having a single barber that provides a consistent cut each time you go, instead of going to other places where someone different cuts your hair each time. This was the most unprofessional place I have ever been. The owner was a real jerk from the moment I walked through the door. He gave me a horrible haircut and charged way too much. When I complained about the cut he said oh too bad. What the ---- is that! He obviously doesn't want repeat customers. I would never go there again and I recommend you don't either. read more

IF you want a good hair cut by a good barber, this is the guy. He is friendly enough to make quiet talk, but if you want non-stop, loud, obnoxious and stupid endless talk rather than conversation, then don't come. As an independent owner who does well at "checking" or "reading" folks out, he can afford to tell some people where to get off. Trying to maintain a peaceful setting in order to get an excellent hair cut takes a set of...principles that some of us do not have. One may have to wonder why some wife/mother has to "check out" a place for her husband and sons! This is a mens shop to begin with and women are always welcomed too howsoever in West County so many people are "special" and "sensitive", thus..........go elsewhere as this place is just for regular folks looking for a fine and regular haircut. read more

If you like short hair then this is the place to go! I get the same short, clean and tightly trimmed cut each time. Mark is the best...don't pay attention to a mom commenting on her experience inquiring about rates or a person who didn't like a phone conversation...your hair is what you should judge your barber on...and Mark's cuts are the best. read more
