I had a new card this year and skipped the month of January due to issues on that card. When we called them to make it up for January, they said we had to pay the full balance of $2,400 before seeing the Doctor. We have never skipped a payment or being late before. By the way, we have a health insurance. I hope some day, the people who made that decision go through the same issues with their family and they will see how hurtful this is. I will pay them off but will never go back.

NO SERVICES RENDERED!…read more At the advice of Poison Control we came urgently to this nearest so-called "urgent care" with an emergency for our 1-year old son who had been accidentally poisoned. Due to his age we were immediately turned away because they were apparently not equipped to handle his emergency due to his age/size. We were instead instructed to go directly to Children's Hospital in St. Paul - which we did. We had no desire to leave a medical facility on our volition; we wanted medical care provided to our son immediately who was in a serious situation. However, we were nevertheless told that nothing could be done for him there and that we should quickly move along elsewhere. As we were leaving, having only been there for roughly less than 5 minutes in total, we asked if there was anything further required of us as we headed for the door. In response, we were told (I am paraphrasing) "no, just get moving as quickly and safely as possible to Children's". That sounded quite appropriate to us, and onward we went. So now imagine our shock when we received a very large bill in the mail from these people! The bill nearly exceeded the one we were required to pay to Children's Hospital for ACTUAL life-saving medical services rendered! The bill also had no itemization on it whatsoever to help us determine what, in fact, we could possibly be charged for. We initially thought it surely must have been some type of mix-up because surely they would not charge us for simply sending us away. In following up and disputing the charge, we have received a total runaround. The billing department suggests that they somehow have no authority over the matter and that we must work it out with the specific clinic in Blaine. Nevertheless, we have been back into the office in Blaine repeatedly and each time we get "sorry, the manager isn't here". We finally were able to discuss the issue with a lesser-tier supervisor and she, in-effect, claimed she understood our dispute but also had no authority to do anything about it. We were told we would receive a follow-up email from someone with greater authority, but that never happened. So I ask, who has the authority within your organization to do the right thing here and drop the charge? No services were rendered to us and Minnesota has strict laws on such matters. You cannot charge us for simply being told to go away. If the claim is that it is a "service" for the doctor to tell us that your clinic cannot provide service, we reject that claim. Who else could be qualified to make that determination apart from a doctor? How can it be justified to charge us hundreds of dollars to make that determination? All the man did was come into the room and tell us he was too young for the clinic to help him. Is it really a service to tell us you cannot provide service?! The obvious goal here appears to be to get us to capitulate and just suck it up and pay the bill because we have insurance. They know it's wrong to charge anything under such circumstances (the whole office was embarrassed and shocked when I came back in there with the bill - you could see it in their eyes), but management knows they can get the money anyway, so why not? Well, on principal we will not give it to them. It's outrageous, grotesque, and shameful. And so indicative of the state of healthcare in the US. We live abroad (we were back just for a summer visit) and cannot fathom a circumstance in which this would happen in any other country we have ever lived in. We will file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and retain a lawyer. In the interim, we recommend that people avoid this place AT ALL COSTS!

With the addition of some worrisome test results, my midwife called and personally talked to her about changing my appointment to an internal diagnostic to check on the health of the baby. I get there and it was a tech that had only worked there for three days. When I asked about doing the internal she looked at me panicked, and said they didn't do those there. She did a quick abdominal but it wasn't what I needed. I still paid for the appointment. My midwives called her again and we rescheduled for another internal ultrasound on Monday morning. I had to wait another two days to get results I was already very anxious for. My midwives said I wouldn't be charged since there was such a misunderstanding on Saturday. When I get there she's nice enough. Her machine is old and she has the wand sitting inside me for over a minute before it even turns on. She does the exam, and then comes back in and asked for $100 more. When I told her I thought I didn't have to pay she was rude, said she can't do her work for free, and gave a lame excuse about why my appointment got messed up last time. I'm not angry at her because she gave me bad news. I was expecting it. Its the way she handled my scheduling mistake, still charged me for two ultrasounds even though I only ordered one, and was extremely rude to someone in shock and grief. Don't go here if you need answers fast, want customer service, need anything diagnostic or actually want answers about your baby. I guess it might be good if all you wanted was to see cute pictures but otherwise I will never be back here again.
