LOVE this market!! They still cut the old fashion way!. Nice selection of products, variety of items so the weekly " What's for dinner" is a little easier to answer. Nice selection of oven ready items as well. They have been around this area for almost 50 years, not many mom and pops have that kind of longevity. I have never commented on anyone's post because folks have the right to post their experience with any business they they may patron (good or bad) there are always 3 sides to every story, yours, mine and what really happened, and I choose to make my own decision about a place, if I have a not so good experience say at a new restaurant I will give another try, everyone has an off day....but this one hit me wrong. Mike S, I just read your post as I was going on to give a shout out about my fantastic New York Strips, that were hand cut for me to my desired thickness, as they have been for the past 20 years, the picture you posted about Rays filets look absolutely beautiful, don't know what your gripe was there and they are twice the size of the ones you posted from the other place, and looking at the picture of theirs, those are NOT prime steaks by any means and to educate you a little further before you go bashing someone's business Angus is NOT a grade of beef, it is a breed of cow with Certified Angus Beef being the "elite" in Prime and Choice products. I'm sure you were a little tiffed, waiting while they were looking for your order, ( obviously you have never worked in retail anything during a holiday, things don't always go 100% perfect no matter how hard you try), but they got you fixed up....or tried to....oh, and by the way you missed out on one hell of a Rib Roast... I don't know what you paid for your steaks and it really doesn't matter at this point because once you went to the "name calling" your true character came out, and your complaint went out the window. But what was your complaint to begin with.... that a merchant had a price on his product in which you have every right to purchase or not. But I do have to add out of curiosity because I know these folks on a personal level and know the pride they take in their work, were your steaks sold by each or by the pound, they also look like they are in a cryovak (sp?) packaging, not hand cut in store...if 18.99 each you paid about $3 less per pound for a lesser quality than sold at Ray's QUALITY Meats. Smiling and happy but if your meat goes south in a day, what's the point? We seriously tried to like Mark and Marcie, but we had to many issues with borderline quality of product. When we brought it to Marks attention. He just looked at us like we were stupid??? Not good! My wife and I were in the restaurant business for over 20 years and do not appreciate "Games". I work at a large Production plant north of Rays. We go there for lunch all the time, great lunch specials. I'm a avid hunter, it was recommended to me to go and ask Rays meats if they would sell me pork fat for venison summer sausage I make myself. First, I ask the gentleman at the counter if they do such a thing his reply " Well we make our own sausage here and we use pork fat for "Our needs". I understand that, no problem. Then, he started to get nasty and asked why I needed it I told him I make summer sausage on my own and needed 5 lbs of pork fat for venison sausage. He took my information and said they would call when they had the amount to sell me. They NEVER called, just tell me you can't help me out. Customer service there has left the building. So confused by some of the low ratings on here. I live down the road and am obsessed with this place. Subs even better than Publix (I know that sounds crazy but trust me on this), amazing hot lunches, great cuts of meat, and REALLY incredible pre-made meals (I recommend the meat lovers lasagna and hash brown casserole). The deli makes the best tropical chicken salad, I never run out of it. I probably stop by 2-3x a week and when my dad is in town from Port St Lucie he buys a ton of premade meals and brings them home in a cooler. And best of all, great prices. I would drive miles out of my way to swing by here a couple times a week, it's that's good. Actually, I don't think I've ever had anything bad. Can't say enough good stuff about Rays. read more

I arrived at Ray's at 5.58pm.. I even called them telling them I'm on the way.. Lady on the phone was rude and said we close at 6pm.. I ended up getting there and they said we are closed when I got there a few minutes before...They should clean up and lock their doors at 610pm and not 10 minutes before...Seriously, out of courtsey they should of gave me my chops.. I drove 30 minute with my toddler.. I would of been a first time costumer but now a never again costumer and all of my friends and family won't going there aswell.. read more

i love rays last night i got there at 6:01 and they were already closed , he was nice enough to let me in anyways so i could get my meat .. They have the best hamburger anywhere and the best steak and chicken breast as well the quality of meats is way better then you can get at any store and the service is great:) read more

Normally I don't write reviews but I went there last Thursday, as it was convenient on my way home and they had stuffed pork chops on sale I wanted one cranberry stuffed and one regular (sausage) the owner even repeated my order to me. Well I got home with two sausage no cranberry (he only had 2 cranberry left) so I'm guessing he didn't want to give me one. If there was any sausage in the ones i got I surely couldn't see it or taste it just mushy stuffing and celery. About 8 years ago I bought all my meat from Ray's but slowly the quality went down and the prices went up. Very rude as well. After this last bait and switch I won't be back. If I'm in Bunnell I'll go to Harris Grocery (very good meat), if I'm in Port Orange, Gaff's meat market it top notch (the best I've ever been to) or Publix at Halifax Planation in Ormond always aims to please I bought a two rib prime rib here on Friday (Publix) and the butcher cut it in half and took off the bone (so I can use for soup) so for $6.99 a pound I had a delicious prime rib steak for the grill. Ray should be ashamed - I like to give all my business to a local company but I won't be back there no matter how convenient. read more
