Busted Knuckle Auto Repair

Busted Knuckle is the best! Really - they are. Jay and Calvin came thru with rush work repairing…read moreeach of my 3 vehicles to get them road ready for a move south. One needed a lot of work to get road safe. It wasnt easy, as they were having to fix bad work done by other fortunua mechanic and a bit of front end damage to my blazer after a spin out that hit the hillside at 55 mph (damn hwy 36). One mechanic (JC Auto) took 2 1/2 months and $3000 to do an "improper installation of a new intake mainfold" per the dodge dealer. And another expensive fortuna mechanic (Rocha's) didnt know how to fix the a/c system on my ford ranger but billed $1800 to try (they forgot to put refrigerant in). Calvin fixed it in half a day for under $500. In my 8 years of experience with local shops, out of 7 of them only 2 really shine - Busted Knuckle and Mike's Brake Service. The others are over priced and will kill you with diagnostic fees.

He kept me informed about every detail, and I truly appreciated how much communication and patience he had. I am incredibly pleased with the quality of service and the work. I highly, HIGHLY recommend Busted Knuckle to everyone here and I will not hesitate to recommend them to all my friends and family in the area.

This company is untrustworthy and terrible to work with. If you should be in a similar situation as…read moreme and had a car accident, and have one of their trucks pull up and start hooking up your vehicle, ask them to release the car and drive away. I was in a parking lot after a vehicle accident where the police department had contacted the tow company to assist with the vehicles. I was traveling with my two children and in a rental car. I was on the phone with my insurance company as well as with the rental car company to try and figure out where I needed the car to be towed to. The driver stood next to me and a police officer while I asked him to please return it to the airport rental car location (as opposed to another rental car location that was closer) so that I could get a new rental car. He agreed, and my kids and I received an escort to the rental car location while we awaited delivery of the rental car to the location. After about an hour of waiting, I called the tow company only to find out the driver took the rental car back to the yard. At this point, I realized in the shuffle, I had no receipt, no paperwork, no contact card- just the word of the driver (his name might be Steven) as he was going to be following me over. I thought he was there to help because he was working with the police station. Come to find out that company does not " work with" neither the rental car company nor my insurance company (which of course they never told me in the parking lot.) I tried to explain my situation, as it appeared that was a misunderstanding- this is going to be a claim handled by insurance, I needed a new car and the rental car company needed the old one first. After talking to a horrible woman on the phone, I realized there was no misunderstanding, this company has no problem ripping off people in need. The only resolution Pacific Towing offered in order to release the vehicle was for me to read them my credit card card number over the phone so they could charge me $460.50, and then they would drive the vehicle 12 miles to where we were. She refused my suggestion of having the driver, bring the vehicle and showing me an invoice. I have no receipt, no paperwork whatsoever for this company, and I had to give them my credit card card from the airport in order for them to deliver the vehicle. He eventually showed up at the airport hours later so I could finally get my replacement vehicle and continue my vacation. He offered no apology, only excuses and complaints about how this is going to make the company look bad. How you look someone dead in the face and lie to them and take a vehicle hostage so that you can make money is beyond me.
