So yesterday, my mother goes in to pick up a pizza, pays the woman at the counter and walks out without the pizza. She forgot the pizza on the counter and walked out. She gets about a block away before realizing the mistake. Turns around to go get her pizza. Walks in and tells the same woman at the counter that she forgot her pizza on the counter and the woman starts berating her. I thought you didn't want it, why would you have left it here an so on. My mother explains that she's had a rough day and just simply forgot it. The woman goes back into the kitchen, comes out and gives her a pizza. My mother walked out, got home, opened the pizza box and it's missing two slices. Unbelievable. They knew they were giving her a half eaten pizza and treated her with blatant disrespect. I wonder what the health department is going to say about a restaurant serving food that was tampered with? read more

Best thin crust pizza ever. We love the linguica pizza and have - on numerous occasions - purchased, packaged and carried same to our New Bedford family now living in Denver. Anytime we're passing through Acushnet, a stop at Ray's is always factored into the travel plans. The pizza is great. I will say, though, that It would be nice if our patronage was shown a bit more appreciation than it is. Never have we heard "thanks for coming in", or even "have a nice day". I will leave it at that. Details can be gleaned from other reviews. They explain the absence of the fifth star. I travel an hour for a thin crust, pizza Bianco, 4 kinds of cheese, garlic, onions, thinly sliced tomato, and then I add sausage. It's my favorite pizza anywhere! And I've covered a lot of ground and years. Salads are basic, but fresh and very good. Soda fountain is well tuned. That's what I always get. The service wasn't as poor as some of the people here are saying. Both of the people I dealt with were not talkative, but by no means rude. The problem lies with the food. I don't think I have ever smelt anything so bad. It was sickening to smell, almost like acid. We went over each thing we bought, and all of it smelled exactly the same. No way we could have figured out what the smell was. We ordered two pizzas. One was missing ingredients, and the pepperoni was as greasy as possible. Pools of oil just sat on top of every slice, and the crust was so soaked with it that the piece nearly split in half when I picked it up. The salad was no better. Missing ingredients, the lettuce was barely cut up, and when we asked for wet tuna, we were given the opposite. Even the boneless buffalo chicken strips we got were cold. No one was rude to me, that's for sure, but the food has to improve. I won't be coming back unless I hear something good from someone else. read more

Most unwelcome restaurant I've ever been to. We ate there for lunch and dinner. Each time we felt like we were bothering the workers. I have yet to be treated so bad by another business. We won't be going back. Which is too bad because their food isn't half-bad. But the service is so horrendous that the food quality can't make up for the rude treatment you receive when there. If there was a negative star option I would have given it to Rays. First the food, they call this pizza. It was cold, greasy and salty. As for the toppings I had better quality ingredients in my dorm room refrigerator. I had the BBQ chicken pizza, the chicken was over cooked rubber chunks, the cheese had the texture of plastic, and sauce seemed to be made with motor oil. As for the crust... I should have just eaten the box. Now for the "service". No credit card, what year are we in. I walked in there was no one in the place and the counter girl said hello but continued to set tables as if she had patrons waiting to be seated. Then the cost 2 pizza and salad was $30. Absolutely absurd this place has 4 stars. There's literally no way. No ranch dressing!? In a pizza shop that sells salads for one. One size pizza that's going to cost you 15$. Drink selection non existent. And be ready to pay 3$ atm fee if you walk in without cash. I absolutely love their El Greco Pizza one of my favorite places to go for pizza prices are decent it's a great spot for pizza if PA Raffa's is full never order any of their pasta its pre boiled overcooked and will stick to walls that's the only thing that really needs work the chicken parmesan sub is awesome and it's a great way to get the chicken parmesan without having the pasta with the dinner sometimes the pizzas can be a little on the darker side read more

Good pizza. Absolutely horrible, abysmal, bottom of the barrel service Went on 2 different Friday nights Same thing happened both times--a waitress took my order and disappeared. Literally never saw her again. First time, I had to go to the kitchen doorway to flag someone down for drink refill & to pay my bill. 2nd time, she never put my order in at all. After 30 minutes, I hunted someone else down to ask where my food was. They'd never seen my order and "wondered why" I'd been sitting there so long. So this guy takes my order and of course gets it wrong (30 mins later, he brings out pineapple pizza when I'd ordered pepperoni). Then he blames ME for "ordering it wrong." (I've never ordered pineapple pizza in my life..... and who has more reason to lie here, them or me?) Guy gives me a ton of attitude, then turns me over to the owner, whose attitude is even WORSE if that's possible. Totally rude, barks "If you come in another time, I guess we'll make you a free one!!!" I ask for a receipt or coupon, some proof that they'll do what he says, he refuses and says snidely "Don't worry, I'll remember you." (Yeah right) Turns out the waitress is his daughter and he's "gonna talk to her." Great, you two will have a lot of time to talk when the place (which was completely empty at 630 pm on both Fridays) goes out of business. read more

Pizza is thin crust and well done which is to my liking, but not my kids. Good mix on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the antipasto I ordered, as the veggies were fresh and there was a nice mix of other toppings. Kids like the chicken fries. My favorite pizza place, hands down. When it comes to pizza, I like thin crust, the thinner the better. Ray's is some of the thinnest I've seen. I have about 10 pizza places in my hometown (Who doesn't?) and I travel a half hour to and from to take out pizza from here. That tells you something. Ray's has almost every kind of pizza you could want, from standard plain or pepperoni, to specialty pies like Clams Casino and Buffalo Chicken. As I said before, their specialty is thin crust, but if you prefer it a little thicker, you can upgrade to double crust. When this place first opened, plain cheese pizzas were $5 each. Due to inflation over the years, they've risen to about $8 a pizza, which is about average. Extra toppings are $.50 each, and double crust is $1 extra. No small, medium, large sizes here. One size fits all. Some say the pizzas aren't big enough, but you don't get pizza this good other places. I should mention, no delivery, it's take out or dine-in only. Parking is ample, as there is a lot around the side of the building where you can park for free. Or, if you're lucky you might get one of the few spots right out in front. So, give it a try. I have been searching for this type of pizza for a long time. It's the best!! I live about 1/2 mile from Rays and never tried it until my husband and I stopped in to try it.
