I don't know why doughnuts baked fresh on premises is not a thing in Georgia. The two big national doughnut chains in the area have pre-made doughnuts shipped in from who-knows-where. And yeah, one of them does make only one of there signature products on premises but only when the sign is lit and it's only glazed doughnuts. Ray's is the kind of doughnut shop we have in Southern California where the shop is usually family owned, EVERY doughnut of various types and sizes are made every morning in the shop and they offer warm breakfast items like croissants and breakfast burritos. The doughnuts taste amazing! Light and airy glazed and twist taste fresh. The cake-style doughnuts are not stale and stiff like the other guys. Variety ranges from plain cake to fritters. No, you can't get a pretentious frou-frou coffee concoction but the coffee they do serve is great and the smoothies and boba teas are give you some variety. If you are northbound of Tara Blvd heading to I-75 it's an easy in and out. Ray's is right past the "Cow Chicken" place (who's coffee is polar opposite of their great service). The donuts are amazing and affordable !!!! They soft texture of the first bite and they have so many different variations. My favorites so far are Maple Bacon, Blueberry , Strawberry and Glaze. The cashier gave me two free donuts for purchasing a dozen and also through some mini donuts holes in the box also! They have breakfast sandwiches, coffee, smoothies and a lot of drinks. Delicious fresh food, great customer service, and a good variety of menu choices. This is the perfect addition to the area and I absolutely love that they have opened this spot right on Tara which makes it a nice stop on my way to work in the morning. There is so much about this place that I like but I will start with the main attraction.. the donuts. So many delicious looking options that I had to remind myself that I'm just one person and having a buffet of donuts in one sitting is probably not the best thing for my summer body in the winter goals. I opted for the Cinnamon roll and my goodness...so light and airy and perfectly glazed. I can only imagine what the donuts taste like...although I wont have to imagine for long because I definitely plan on stopping by again. I also have tried their Mango pineapple smoothie with Boba and the taste was super fresh and yummy. I wish I could have tried one of their sandwiches but I was already running late for work and they make them to order so I will save that for next time. Really good donuts. Being from Los Angeles, I'm used to having donut shops that make their own donuts. Rays did not disappoint when we went last Sunday. The people were really nice, the selection was plentiful, and the place was clean. The prices were good, not too high but not low enough to make you question the quality. We got a little bit of everything, but I think our favorites were the blueberry fritter and the cinnamon crumb donut. We're sure to go back, probably tomorrow. read more

I finally got the chance to try Ray's after hearing so many good things about the donuts. I came on a late afternoon and there was no other customers there. I was able to order a few different items. I did not enjoy the red velvet donuts. I thought that the taste was off. The cinnamon crunch donuts were the highlight of the visit. The cinnamon sugar were okay but nothing that I would rush to order again. The donut holes were decent. I also ordered some of the original glazed donuts and they were pretty decent. I would go back if I was passing by, but I can't say that I would make a special trip. I personally prefer Holey Sweet in Stockbridge. read more

I have been five times now, and the pastries and goodies are absolutely delicious. Everything is melt-in-your mouth fresh, and Ray's has a huge variety of goodies to chose from. Another bonus, the staff are super friendly and eager to help. I just hope they get their latte machine up and running again, but for now I make myself a coffee just the way that I like it. Ray's serves up DELICIOUS donuts!!!! I love ther strawberry glazed and the Boston cream filled. They are always light and fluffy......WAY better than Krispy Kreme or Dunkin. They taste just as good day one as day three (not that I have many that last that long) Never greasy or aftertaste. Get there early because they sell out QUICK and once the donut is gone, you have to wait til the next day. The prices are fair and competitive with any donut spot around. Parking is great and plenty of it. They get you in and out quickly which is always a good thing.... even 6am..... All around great place read more

AMAZING homestyle donut shop! The breakfast sandwiches are MADE TO ORDER, no microwaves here! The eggs & meats are FRESH! I had the sausage egg and cheese on a Croissant. Hubby had bacon egg and cheese on a Croissant. SUPER tasty! Coffee is AMAZING! And the DONUTS are not stale - they're FRESH and you can tell everything is made with LOVE & PRIDE! Seen this place earlier in the week and was wanting to check it out. Highly disappointed and never even got a chance to try the donuts. Bad area for a new business. A lot of people will be put off by the shady characters that seem to be very familiar with this location. We were waiting to pick out our dozen of donuts from the meager offering of available choices. We attempted to ask if the over cooked fritters were in fact fritters when the server promptly put the fritter in the box, she was not paying attention to us, but instead to the boisterous individual at the register. Suggestion, finish with your first customer before trying to help the next one. I like to feel I am being paid attention to when I am spending my money. Perhaps I will give Sublime a shot. read more
