My dad had asked me to search for a local plumber. After seeing so many ads on SNN, WTSP (CBS Tampa), and other local networks, I said to my mom "Hey, let's try Mike Douglass Plumbing. They're only ten minutes down the road." And sure enough, we call them around 7 AM. A gentleman by the name of Steve showed up right when he said he would be there (Around 11 AM). We went around back and checked all the valves out back to ensure enough water pressure and we did. Finally, we get to the hot water tank in the garage. That's where Steve discovered it was some sort of switch issue. He was able to diagnose and isolate the problem very quickly. Their service wasn't too expensive, but they were definitely fairly priced. Overall, what a great experience we had. Will recommend to associates and friends. I called them. The gentleman on the phone was calming and professional. They pulled a crew from a job at someone else's house nearby to come and get the fire hydrant shooting off in my front yard shut off. They were there and had the water off less than 10 minutes after my phone call. They got a new backflow and installed it today. After some delay due to the excitement, I headed off to work and came home to a brand new backflow, perfectly installed, water restored to my home--all at a reasonable price. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional and reassuring, which is wonderful when you suddenly have water spraying all over the place when it shouldn't be. Yelp has ALWAYS come out great - - esp if you very slowly and carefully study all comments for all resources. Fred came today, Saturday as promised late Thursday when he answered my inquiry, I have had 4 OLD multi bathroom homes in 4 states, so I KNOW when I find not only an experienced knowledgeable honest plumber but also a very very fine decent good human being to work with. It took Fred awhile to tackle our tough project and the conclusion was we had a seriously dead toilet.
