I and my son have been going to Ray's Barbershop in Burlington for probably 10 years now and it's easily one of the best barbershops around. The second you walk in, you feel the great vibe -- it's welcoming, upbeat, and you immediately know you're in good hands. Buck, Aaron, and JB are absolutely the best barbers around. Every cut is precise, they listen to what you want, and they always deliver. Aaron is genuinely happy with his life decisions and it shows in his work and attitude. First experience was really great I had a scheduling mix up and needed a cut as did my son They have a walk-in system at rays, you write your name on the list and wait. You can also call ahead, I found out (and will next time) Shop has an old school vibe. Easy parking and they take cash or Venmo John was at the front and I noticed was finishing a perfect fade on a young kid I was hoping to get him and did John was very polite and easy to talk to. He gave me an excellent cut and gave me son one as well, even though he's not the easiest person to cut Price was far better than any other local shop. For the comprehension-challenged at Yelp HQ, I went to this shop to get a regular haircut, like I have done several times in the past. THIS time, there was someone parked in the handicapped spot right on front of the shop's door without a tag or plates, so I went in to find out who it was, and it turned out to be a kid with an attitude problem. When I told him to go outside to move his car, the owner of the shop started screaming at me to get out of his shop. I had to go outside, and get the police to come straighten him out, as well as the kid, whom they already knew. NEVER MESS WITH A DISABLED MARINE VET. You will lose, every time. read more

When I got there, there was a grandmother with her young child getting a haircut. As soon as they left, there were only us guys waiting. The three barbers had an animated conversation about nothing but with an avalanche of f-bombs. I guess they get some credit for watching their language around women and children, but I would rather get my hair cut elsewhere. read more

They have friendly, salt of the earth barbers. They can do standard cuts and stand behind each other's work: if you have a complaint then come back the next day and someone will fix it. My sole issue is they think they're interchangeable. I have a demanding style and am particular about whose chair I sit in. They collectively grumble if I indicate I want another barber. read more

With all the salons, unisex establishments, and just plain hacks out there, it is truly hard to find a good old fashioned barber nowadays. I can only count a few barbers on the north shore and 95 beltway that can measure up. And Rays is one of them. You can always judge a good barber not only by the cut you get, but also by the quality of work you see before you as you wait, as people come and go. It appears Rays has a good depth of barbers here. It has a good location, good parking, the wait is not too long, and although a regular cut is about 20 dollars, it is worth it. You always know you have a good old school barber when they finish off with the shave on the neck and paying attention to the fine details. Others will just rush you out the door. Tried this place out since I work in the area. Place sits in a strip mall near center of Burlington. They have like 8 chairs and plenty of barbers. Guy I had was a chatterbox but did a pretty good job cutting and it was quick and reasonably priced. Even if the place gets busy looks like they take people pretty quick plus they shave the neck after each cut which is great! read more

Came here after work one day. Expect quick service, an average cut, and a older type decor. The price is high $20 for a fade.

I am a middle-aged woman. I called the barbership ahead of time and was assured that women customers were accepted. When I went in, however, the 3 barbers working on other customers did not greet me or say a single word; they completely ignored me. As I waited, one barber finished up with his customer and then went into the back room. There he stayed until a male customer entered the shop, at which time he came back out and proceeded to wait on the guy. I got up and put on my coat and left, still nobody said a word. Got my hair cut here recently for the first and only time. Came home and washed my hair and found one dead hair lice in my hair. Gross. Got the lice comb and had someone check me over nothing else was found. I've never had a problem with hair lice before. Haircut was fine so I gave it two stars. read more

Love this place, been going here for almost two years exclusively and Aaron never ceases to impress. The only reason I would give this a 4/5 is due to the inconsistent hours. I'd recommend showing up at least one hour before the shop is scheduled to close - they sometimes close early.
