I have been dealing at Ray's for over 35 years, and now my (grown) kids and my Grandchildren also deal there. He is absolutely honest, will let us know exactly what the problem is, and fix it as soon as possible. Any little issue we have had has been quickly been addressed. Prices are very reasonable. But the best thing is that you can depend on knowing that what you are told about your vehicle is absolutely true. No inflated lists of what is needed. We have taken both of our cars to Ray for the last 7 years. We are extremely satisfied. He does excellent work and his pricing is very fair. We have never had one bad experience. You are best to show up early though because he operates on "first come, first served" basis usually. His staff will get you back on the road again as fast as they can. They have done oil changes, brake work, engine component replacement, sensor replacement and some minor electrical repair for us. Very satisfied. read more

My daughter's little Chevy Aveo had the headlights quit working and the "high beam" indicator on the dash came on. I had her check all of her headlights and daytime driving lights and nothing was working. On short notice (because she needs the car for work) I called Ray's and was very happy to have them tell me I could bring it by and they'd look at it. We dropped the car off, and my daughter told me her driver's side door lock wasn't working either, so I mentioned that to Ray. A couple of hours later, I went by to give them my credit card, as we live out of town, and Ray said "the car is done'. Not only did they diagnose and repair the lights, but they also repaired her door lock. And all of this for a price that was significantly lower than I was expecting. I'm a woman and it seems when I walk into a mechanic their eyes glisten with dollar signs. Ray is extremely honest and very reasonable. Ray's Auto is great! I've taken my Matrix there. He replaced my clutch and charged $1000 where 2 others places quoted $1800 to $2300. The work was done immediately in one day. A year later I took my car in and had him replace the back brakes - rooter and pads. He charged $500 less than another place and the work was done in a morning. Great service, no drama. read more

Told me what was wrong with it and what needed to be fixed. I have brought all my families vehicles there and Ray's Auto has consistently charged less than other shops. He has saved me thousands and thousands of dollars. He is honest and doesn't over charge. I've been going to Ray for 3 years now. My husband worked in the strip mall next to Rays and we kind of stumbled across him. I recommend him to EVERYONE who needs work done. We got quoted $4000 plus for my husbands front end at other places, and Ray did it for less than $1800. Kal Tire quoted me $1700 for a bunch of work they said I needed done, and Ray told me it was just Pads & Rotors which he did for $235. Ray is ALWAYS fast, ALWAYS fair, and ALWAYS priced great. He will only do the work that absolutely needs to be done, and will tell you approximately how long your car will last before it needs anything else done. As long as I'm in Calgary, Ray will be my mechanic. read more

Do NOT go to this guy. He wouldn't even fix a flat tire for me because "he doesn't work on Volvos". Fine, if I was asking him to actually do some work on the engine, but what mechanic can't fix a tire and bolt it back on?! I think not. read more
