What a great little bakery! I was here once a few years back when I was home in Sonoma County for the week, but I didn't remember it being so good. Service was great and they make stellar breads. The brownie was one of the best I have ever had. The 4 instead of 5 stars is because I was a little disappointed that the cinnamon bun and the coffee cake were a little more dry than I would like. We stayed a few nights with Mark and Elizabeth, and all I can say is they are the best hosts ever. Upon arriving Mark offers me a pint of beer and some goodies from the bakery. We stayed in the back two bedroom cabin, while not a luxury cabin, it has everything you need. Our daughter loved the little playground next to the bakery, it was also a plus that Mark offered a stroller which we forgot at home. Every morning a hot breakfast was provided and it was delicious! Raymonds has really gone downhill since the start of this years season! Pizza is smaller and toppings are sparse. The last four pizzas I've had there have been way below par! Two have been burnt and barely edible, and the last two did not have the extra toppings that WE PAID FOR! They say they're open at 3:00 pm on Friday but refuse to take pizza orders until five pm. The wait is atrocious. I've waited up to an hour and a half AFTER the pick up time I was quoted. They are now using packets of Parmesan, and when I'm paying $30.00 for a pizza, I want the real thing...I think I've paid for it. Their staff is uninterested and often rude. It's a real shame because it used to be a great place to eat for us locals. About the only reason to go there is for the music...and only a beer! read more

My husband and I stayed in one of the B/B cottages and I must say it was FABULOUS! We just wanted a place to stay that was quiet and restful. We got that plus Mark and Elizabeth are such wonderful hosts, we felt like we had been invited to stay at a family friend's guest room. Never knew Cazadero existed had it not been for Livingsocial.com and their deal for this hidden gem. We wanted a get away not far from home and from the moment we arrive, we had that get away feel. The people who greeted us were warm, inviting and very chill. It's not a pretentious place, just great people with warm hearts and open arms bearing incredible food. Mark and Elizabeth definitely made the experience. If it wasn't for them, it would've been a nice cozy place to stay, but nothing more.... but because of them, they are in a superior class of their own. I've stayed in plenty of nice places, some with great exceptional service, fancy amenities, great food but none made me feel like I was a part of the family. They offered us beer and raspberry squares from the bakery right after our arrival. We sat and chatted around the firepit as my baby took his afternoon nap. Our kids played together. They invited us to dinner as I had failed to think about dinner and in order for us to enjoy a nice relaxed dinner with them, they let us use their baby monitor so we can listen in on him while we ate. We had a great time as they shared their incredible story. And by all means, they are busy people but they never let us ever feel like we got in their way, and they always had time to help us out with anything. We came to get away and do nothing, a bit afraid we'd be bored. Well, we did just that but we weren't bored at all with such wonderful people to pass the time with. read more

This review is for Mark, the owner, who is fantastic. His bread is wonderful as well. A group of cold, tired parents chaperoning a weekend across the street at the music camp descending on him this morning as Mark scrambled to handle everything himself due to being short staffed. The cafe wasn't officially open but he brought us freshly baked bread, insisted that we help ourselves to coffee, and wouldn't let us pay for any of it. His hospitality was over the top! I will make a point to come here whenever I can to help support this wonderful community business. Pro tip: the salted sourdough. Amazing. read more

We've been coming here every summer for last 4 years and it's the place where we get all very excited about. Super friendly owners (Mark & Elizabeth) who remembered us even they haven't seen us for about a year each year. We visit there for breakfast pastry & coffee while we are in Cazadero area for a week. I love their cinneman rolls and carrot cupcakes. I even treated myself with double chocolate brownie as well. Things sold out and new things on display shelf while we stay there which means they are often very fresh. They had a longer hour for summer on certain days so we were able to try their pizza for the first time this year. Mark's favorite with olives and Elizabeth's favorite from their menu were all great. Everyone gobbled up fast when we brought them home to enjoy. When I went to pick up the pizza on Sunday night, there are 6-7 tables were taken with families or a group of friends were enjoying their pizzas. I might need to call in order for pick up, so I don't need to wait for 15 - 20 min since I could tell they were really busy with all the orders for the dine-in guests. Their new summer hours through Labor day: Mon - Closed (as of 7/1/2014) Tues - Closed Wed - Closed Thurs 8am - 3pm Fri 8am - 9pm (live music & Pizza night as of 7/1/2014) Sat 8am - 7pm Sun 8am - 7pm They have an excellent play area for kids and toddlers ourdoor under the redwoods next to outdoor sitting tables and benches. We usually hang out there for an hour or more while we enjoy our breakfast treats and kids burn off their energy. The owner's daughter will be there often play with our kids and they also have a kid's play kitchen just inside the bakery, so that's a big plus for our kids pretend play. We see a slew of people from camp caz folks there in the morning as well as students in the evening after their music performance perhaps with their parents. And they all seem to know the owners and very all seem to come here everytime they visit the camp. The owners have been running B&B & Cottages to rent out just behind the bakery. Even have a loft to rent upstairs too. Very low rate for the rooms per night and we'll definitely check out their places to rent next time around in cazadero. When they have a card stating "Award Winning" in front of a bakery item that means its fabulous beyond belief. We order a pizza to go & arrived at the correct time to pick it up... But we had to wait in a 30 minute line to pay for it. It was good & I bet much better if it was 30 minutes warmer/fresher. Is it not possible to have a pick up line? Or some other method fair to all. Its a treat every time I wind along Cazadero Highway to find Raymond's Bakery nestled amongst a grove of 1500 year-old redwoods. The bread, cookies, cakes and pizzas are all scrumptious, and often still hot and fresh--they bake them in batches throughout the day. You can eat inside, but usually we go out onto the patio under the trees. The kids also insist on going down to Austin Creek, right next door, to skip rocks and find frogs and crayfish. I have to point out that Jonathan D.'s review is completely out of line; Mark and Elizabeth--the owners--are really generous and sweet to everyone. We've sent most of our gay friends their way, and everyone loves them. If you talk to Mark, you'll also find out that they reserve one of their back cabins for people undergoing cancer treatment--no charge. Definitely stop by if you're in Western Sonoma. read more

The bakery storefront closes during December and January for the holidays. But we got a taste of the delicious pastries and bread when we stayed at one of the bakery's cottages. As cottage guests, we were treated to amazing pizza upon arrival and incredible pastries every morning. Despite being closed, the bakery storefront had a delightful mix of family, employees, neighbors, and cottage guests pass through. It was very hard to leave. read more

My grandaughters and I could not have had a better time! We were so well taken care of. Beautiful setting with old growth Redwoods, and wild mint growing along the creek & swiiming hole. We are Brazilians and we are used to "friendly hosts" so I'm excited to say that we had a fantastic stay! From the moment we got there Mark and Elizabeth and their gorgeous kids made us feel at home!! They are simply amazing hosts and our cottage was cute, comfortable and clean. We loved the fact that they also own the bakery next door and provided us delicious coffee and pastries, plus fruit and yogurt for breakfast. The pizza night on Fridays makes it for a fun evening where everybody has an amazing time and Mark and Elizabeth even treat the guests to some "dancing show" which is something I understand they love to do! We had the Greek pizza and it was delicious. We couldn't leave there without bringing home some of their bread and the Kalamata Olive Rosemary was our absolute favorite!! We'll definitely come back soon and we will recommend this place to everybody we know!! read more

Excellent, the real deal. Their pizza: what you always hope pizza will taste like and all too often doesn't. Now what to chose from their bakery display ? Honestly you can't go wrong, everything I brought home, excellent. From the raspberry bars to the oatmeal cookies, par excellence. I lived in the area for 8 years and made it up to Cazadero probably twice. Last year I found Raymond's Bakery. Now I'm up there a couple times a week. Amazing bread - the best baguette I've ever tasted. My friends from Paris scoffed until they tried it. Amazing cookies and pastries. Amazing pizza. And now they have amazing pulled pork and root beer on tap. All served under giant redwoods. The owners are truly wonderful people. I LOVE this place. read more

The best cinnamon rolls ever! Location is not too far from Monte Rio/Duncan's Mills but it feels remote because of the slow winding road through the forest to get there. They also have great fresh bread which is often discounted when sold as day old. Yummy cookies and other delightful seasonal pastries round out this awesome local bakery! So, I'm sitting here in the cottage that we rented at Raymond's Bakery. Our breakfast, which was spectacular has been eaten, and my wife and I are enjoying every minute of this fantastic find in the little town of Cazedero. The cottages are thoughtfully decorated and cared for, the grounds beautiful, the surrounding woods magnificent and the stream wonderful - but it wasn't all that which gave this place it's 5 star rating. It was Mark, the owner. What can you say about this guy that is not complimentary. Unpretentious, friendly and warm. A stay at home father of 3, cancer survivor, husband and hard worker. He has taken this place from dump to miniature paradise and genuinely welcomes you in to share what has been built over the last decade. Kind, thoughtful and gentle, he is a perfect host. We will be back and if you haven't been here, you must plan a trip soon. read more

We had a kid in the music camp across the street from Raymond's Bakery. We decided to take a couple of days vacation after getting her to camp, and found this B&B for it's proximity. Boy, did we luck out! The breakfast every morning was a table full of fresh pastries that varied each day. Sweets like enormous cinnamon rolls, tarts, chocolate croissants, fruit turnovers and muffins. Savories like dark bread, piping fresh hot from the oven croissants. Along with some hard boiled eggs, yogurt and fruit. But by far the star of the stay were the amazing pastries. Not everything on each day, but enough that we were spoiled for choice each morning. Our cabin was small but had distinct rooms so it felt bigger and just right for 2 adults + 1 child. It was clean and simple, very relaxing. A friendly resident cat was there to greet us when we went out. I would not hesitate to stay here again. read more

My favorite bakery in the world is right there in little Cazadero. The rustic baguettes -- fresh out of the oven, with just a bit of butter -- are heavenly, but so is the anadama bread, the onion rolls, the brownies(!), the chocolate cupcakes...I could go on. Do yourself a favor and stop to see Mark and Elizabeth if you're within a 25-mile radius (though I've been known to drive from SF just for some of their bread). read more

had a family event with my 2 grown sons, daughter-in-law and 2 grandkids under 5. stayed for 5 days. in all honesty, it was transforming! peaceful, beautiful, quaint little towns, jenner, bodega bay, wonderful people, great wine, great food, unpretentious. AND my daughter-in-law got pregnant on the trip so that is a real bonus! the family that owns/runs it are the nicest people EVER! if you are looking for a very kid-friendly spot to explore northern california, this is the spot! will hopefully go back annually! read more

Wow! I'm a huge foodie and a wino but not a crazy for baked goods in general. It's fun on Fridays. It gets crowded so it's really hard to get service but the atmosphere is uplifing.

Okay, so I order a pizza at 5:30 and am told it will be ready in 20 to 25 minutes. I show up at 6 to pick up my pizza and have to sit and wait until 6:25 before it's ready. I mention to the cashier that this is lousy service and all she can say is "we got a big rush". The pizza was good, but not worth the lousy service. Better off picking up a take and bake from the Guerneville Safeway. While waiting for my pizza I got to witness the owners young daughter fondle the baked bread waiting for patrons to come and purchase. The place is cluttered and not very clean. Want great pastries, go to the Gold Coast Bakery in Duncan's Mills. Raymond's is a dump. read more

Treat yourself and go experience Raymond's Bakery, either for a cup of coffee and some deliciously yummy baked goods, or even better, go and spend one or two nights in one of their cabins. We went for a weekend, and found it to be wonderfully relaxing and peaceful. Mark and Elizabeth, the owners, were so warm and friendly and attentive. The baked goods we had were outstanding, and the bread served for breakfast was excellent. Our two young kids had a wonderful time playing in the river and exploring the property. The highlight was sitting around the outdoor fire at night, and being treated to one of Mark's tasty barbecued meals. It's a gem of a place, nestled under the redwoods. read more

I am a volunteer coordinator at the farmers market in Bodega Bay and Ramonds comes with their baked goods each Sunday. This is what I have had the pleasure of tasting so far... a blackberry pastry, an olive and jalapeno foccacia type bread, a gluten free brownie) that I consumed in front of my neighbor at my booth who probably thought I was a gluttenous pig), raisin bread, french bread and a garlic bread filled with poppy seeds that I had tonight with dinner that would melt in your mouth... seriously this is all I can think about eating now and i am sure to ward the vampires off. And I have never been a huge poppy seed fan but this yeasty bread was out of this world. read more

Raymond's bakery is awesome and I am not saying that because I know everyone in the owners family. I enjoy there food very much. Your food is moist when it needs to be and dry when it needs to be everything is just right. There are toys for kids bathrooms that do not need a key. Tonight with my wife and two teenaged grand children, was pizza night at ELIM GROVE (Raymond's Bakery). Some of the past adventures with this business included unexpected closures and running out of food. Tonight it took almost 20 minutes to ORDER a large pizza and three bottled drinks. Because my granddaughter is a vegetarian I attempted to order with half BBQ chicken but was told that we could not because some people have gotten into arguments in the past. So we ordered and were charged for the pizza with BBQ chicken. We took our numbered placard and sat and sat and sat! One hour and twenty minutes later and after asking it's status 10 minutes before, a small large pizza was delivered. It was inadequate for 4 people. The was no meat on the pizza. It was hot and OK but not worth the price. Although there were well meaning young people trying to do there best to serve, the service and food was mismanaged. The band this evening needed to compete with four screaming tots. Our experiences with Raymond's seems to get worse with each visit. read more

But we also had the opportunity to spend two nights in one of the cottages they have. This was a weekend getaway with our two children (ages 6 and 1) to meet old friends who were attending Cazadero Music Camp. It turned out to be a truly special time. Mark and Elizabeth (the proprietors) welcomed us and made us feel part of their extended family. They were so friendly, warm, and interesting to talk with. There were so many memorable moments-- from Mark making a fabulous outdoor fire at night and sitting around sharing stories to a spontaneous family-style brunch with Mark, Elizabeth, Ela (their daughter) our friends and our family. One could spend a fortune on accommodations and never come close to the joy and hospitality we experienced. We've spent a number of weekends away, but this was easily the warmest and most comfortable setting for us and our family. We expected Raymond's to be a place to stay while we did other things in the area. It turned out to be a lovely destination in its own right. read more
