The DJ portion of their entertaining came pretty close to absolute level for my wife and I on our recent wedding day. Things started way before the wedding with the fact that Absolute was a preferred vendor to our venue and so we gave them a shot to start the DJ searching process. Well after meeting with Matty, we were sold. I don't know if it was his energy, friendliness, truthfulness, or the fact that he reminded us of Ryan Reynolds, but something clicked and we signed on the dotted line that day. This contract included their new mirror photo booth along with a custom rustic DJ booth that was specific for our venue (how cool is that!?). Now I mention the photo booth because that'll come back into play in a bit, but first let's jump into the lead up before the wedding and the big day itself. Absolute did a great job in contacting us prior to the wedding and making sure they had all of our information correct as well as the music choices we wanted. We also got a call from Matty (who happened to be our MC for the wedding) and he ran through all of our info again. They definitely did a thorough job of preparing. On the day of the wedding, the entire ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception was awesome with Matty and Cliff (the DJ). The music choices that we wanted were played throughout the wedding and all of our must-plays were heard. Yeah maybe here and there we had a song pop up we didn't love, but nobody's perfect. Well, Matty's ability to get people on the dance floor and pump everyone up was pretty close to perfect. He was definitely a highlight of our vendors and something we'll positively remember. Now I haven't mentioned the photo booth because we ended up removing it from our contract. The pictures of their mirror photo booth on Absolute's website didn't match up with the one they were showing on social media posts. Both were nice, but it didn't really fit into our theme/style. A small annoyance in the grand scheme of things, though it also took a little time to hear back from them via email in order to get the photo booth removed. Another minor snafu, but in the entirety of everything, I'd still stick with Absolute and the five stars I threw on this review. Overall, Absolute Entertainment is legit in their ability to bring the party and make your day feel special. Their DJs listen to your music preferences and the MCs are fantastic at making your event that much more enjoyable and fun. Perhaps some side pieces aren't perfect, but in the realm of performance and music, Absolute is pretty darn absolute.

They communicated with our other vendors through out the night and followed the planned script perfectly and played all music as previously selected as well as all the typical dance standards. It was LIT as my daughter said when it was over (which we didnt want to end). The questionnaire used for planning was all online as well as their catalog of services provided. Ivan was super accommodating and played all the songs we requested. He was on point with the wedding day itinerary and helpful with suggestions. We had some guests who also DJ and they came up to me raving about how his song mixes/wordplay was spot on. The photo booth was a hit - highly recommend and you receive a link to all photos/gifs taken. We also added on the saxophonist and 8 ft robot. Rob was also fantastic and I'm so glad DUDJ's provided him as the MC. High energy, big smiles, and these two were able to read to crowd and perform accordingly. Their DJ light setup was soooo much better than other DJ's I vetted (not to mention the others were upselling this and Drive Up provides this as a standard). I wasn't the coordinator of that event and wasn't involved in the planning; I worked the concession stand selling refreshments and raffles. However, there was a good deal of down time and I was able to observe Mike's manner and how he interacted with the crowd. To say Mike was funny would be an understatement. He read the crowd perfectly, and everyone was kept entertained; at times the room would explode in laughter. He also kept things moving and always kept the players engaged. As a volunteer, just standing in the back of the room watching, not even participating in the game, I still had a lot of fun. It was my observations of Mike and how he ran that event that made me seek him out when I ran my own trivia night. The school year after I first met Mike, I transferred my children to a different school. After settling in, I approached the administration about running a trivia night fundraiser there. I had lost Mike's contact information and it took me several months of searching and asking around to find Mike (there are a lot of trivia hosts out there) but I finally was able to track him down. I contacted Mike initially on October 9th (with the event already on the school calendar for October 20th). We didn't have much time to plan but Mike was on the ball and got everything planned and coordinated at a moments notice. Unfortunately, Mike himself was not available but he assured me that his other hosts were just as fun. I was skeptical but took Mike at his word and he didn't let me down. We ended up having Jeremy as our host and he was VERY well received. Jeremy was as fun and engaging as Mike was. I also got comments for some of the women in attendance that Jeremy was "nice to look at." I got the impression that some of them wanted to try and take Jeremy home with them. My husband picked a classical piece, not an overly crazy one, it's one that most students can play, so for a professional it should be a non issue. But I heard from multiple guests (many of whom are also musicans...) that it sounded off and even I could tell it wasn't right as I walked down the aisle. We were told only a short time before the wedding that the violinist was having to practice the piece a lot, but not that they couldn't reliably play it at all, and if we knew earlier it couldn't be played, we would have gladly hired any QC student or a peer to do it instead (and for less money). The violinist was also the piano player, and for piano we had requested jazz music, which was pretty important to my musician husband. To our surprise when we walked into the cocktail hour we hear "beauty and the beast" on piano. Totally not our vibe at all, not what we asked for, and no one gave us any warning that it would be changed. Again, if we knew sooner that the pianist either wouldn't or couldn't do jazz, we would have found someone else, or we would have changed to a different genre, but definitely not sappy poppy love songs.... Just such a bummer. The piano killed the vibe for me completely and he and I were both so looking forward to it. Overall the player was nice and whatever, and I guess if you just want some basic piano covers it's fine, but we expected more of a professional service, like a heads up that the music was changed even. All in all I still definitely recommend the DJ and MC and the owner(?) is a pleasure to work with, but just letting people know if they have any sort of specific live music wishes aside from the most generic, to go elsewhere for that one aspect. We had called/ requested multiple companies for pricing and availability, and from the first phone call we knew this company was different than all the rest, and that Michael really loves what he does. We had decided to do a "DIY" wedding, and honestly - probably could not have pulled it off as successful as we did without his help, talent, and personal investment in our event. He was easy to contact over both email and phone, and when we got busy and overwhelmed, he stayed on top of us to make sure that he had all the information he needed. The wedding outline he uses and phone/email conversations helped guide and structure our entire night and he worked to really get a feel for the atmosphere we were trying to achieve ... He managed to turn a ballroom in a historical house into a fun, yet classy, dance party that incorporated BOTH my wife's love for early 2000's dance music and brought out my 90's punk/ alternative! While still getting younger family members and parents and grandparents out on the dance floor. We used the North fork Rustic Decor DJ booth (which I'm pretty sure he built himself!) after DJ Michael saw photos of the space and recommended it, and it fit perfectly! And when we stumbled during the cake cutting (we did not have a Maitre D - and neither of us knew what to do next, or who cuts first) ... I look up and there is DJ Michael. He had stepped down from the stage and DJ booth, came to our table, and discreetly guided us through it, to flawlessly look like we knew what we were doing!
