The Jefferson Valley shop provides wonderful service. One of the lenses in my glasses had come loose needed a quick repair to my ten year old eyeglass frames and, as Raymond Opticians had provided the lenses (but not the frames), I asked if they could help. Jessica quickly analyzed the situation and arranged to have the resident specialist grind the lens slightly to fit the somewhat distressed frame. The whole process took less than fifteen minutes. Everyone involved was intelligent, skilled, cheerful, helpful, and professional. Total cost $0.00. These people are wonderful and totally devoted to customer satisfaction. The optometrist or eye doctor there who gave me my eye exam may have caused perminent damage to my eyes by forcing me to stare into his light for way too long while he looked at my eyes and it hurt, and still hurts a lot. I almost passed out when I stood up after he finished my eye exam. read more

I cannot say enough about how much I love this business. I had my first appointment for an eye exam, and from the moment I walked in the door, I was warmly greeted by multiple employees. I first had an appointment with Dr. Marks and she was amazing! She had patience with me while finding the correct prescription and explained the plan for my new lenses. I was then instructed to pick out a frame which I thought I would be doing on my own. To my surprise, the kindest employee Jessica came over to help me pick out frames. Her and I went to each display of frames and she explained the coverage on the frames and the co-pay. I'm addition, she went the extra mile to help me try on a bunch of frames and pick the correct frames for my face shape. Her kind words and warm attitude really made my day. One of my husband's coworkers recommended this place and I made an appointment only because I was having a hard time finding a place that understood his insurance. I called to make the appointment and the girl who helped me was SO nice that I was ready to go even if they didn't take his insurance. The only evening appointment she had was two weeks away, but I took it anyway because this was the first place that sounded helpful and professional over the phone! When we got to our appointment on that Friday evening two weeks later, everyone was SO nice and very knowledgeable. I was so relieved after having had some not so great experiences with other places. The optometrist was great and spent time explaining everything and took time to listen! The first young man who helped us pick out glasses (Elias?) knew everything about the insurance and went out of his way to help us find the best value for the plans we had, and we felt totally confident that he would handle everything, so we literally picked frames and left. It was a great visit and QUICK! The following Monday he called to explain all our options and placed the order, which we received two weeks later as promised. Went in today and were helped by another nice man (sorry I can't remember his name!) who was also very professional and friendly. My husband and I will definitely never go anywhere else because they have the best service and the best staff we ever dealt with and finally getting glasses and contacts isn't something we dread thanks to them! read more

Was a loyal customer and apparently got the WORST salesperson they have. How bad? When I politely asked a question a second time for clarification, he basically REBUKED me and asked "didn't I just answer that? Then played me with the over charge game. When I challenged the price, he did the car salesman shuffle to the back room and gave the INTERESTING story that they "moved" me to "tier two" so,it lowered the price. Cmon folks, we all know Glass Frames and Lenses is a very lucrative game, but at least play it better by making a better read on a customer who will OBVIOUSLY challenge. Yesterday my eyeglasses broke. Since I am among the people who must remain in quarantine due to serious health conditions I wasn't sure how to deal with the situation. When I called the Raymond Opticians on Lee Rd, in Jefferson Valley, I spoke to Ray Jr. He not only said he would repair it for me, but also offered to drive to my house to pick up my glasses, repair them and return them to me. What! Unheard of. Customer service far above and beyond what is too common these days. I thanked him for his offer, but I was able to have my daughter who lives locally bring the glasses to the store. He not only repaired them, but put a new arm on the glasses. My family goes here/to the Baldwin Place location. Today was my first time in this location, and I liked it a lot better, because it is brighter, more open, and feels cleaner than the other location. I like that my optometrist is friendly but also a no-nonsense/gets-the-job-done kind of guy. He is efficient and fast, which is awesome because eye exams are kind of dull and also irritating if your vision is as blurry as mine is. I also love the frames I was able to find with them, though it should be noted that I selected them at the other location. This office seemed to have more options, though. read more

Glad to see positive reviews here and perhaps I was the unfortunate customer who never got past the indifferent passive aggressive front desk personnel to see an optometrist. No greeting, no eye contact (no pun intended), no direction. Located in a strip mall with convenient parking. Store was noisy (competing radio and television) and worn. I've been a customer of Raymond Opticians for 20 years. A friend was raving about them today and I agreed whole heartedly that the staff is wonderful. They're patient and helpful and stand behind their products. Their customer service is excellent. I started working with them when my son was 5 and they were so kind and treated him with such respect that he STILL goes there and lives in another state! I am so excited to have found Raymond Opticians, actually that I found Mary S. at Raymond Opticians! This review is 100% ALL Mary. I went into Raymond Opticians for a basic eye exam. I knew I needed a new pair of glasses. My plan was to get my Rx and then order glasses on line. Then I met Mary. Let me clarify, I would NOT have purchased glasses from RO if it were not for Mary. She is so honest; she does NOT try to upsell you. She respects your budget, and time. Mary will also be VERY honest as to how frames look on you. HUGE relief for me, as the last time I got glasses, less than a year ago the place I went in Peekskill clearly had no care if I left their office looking like I just stepped out of the 1920's which was NOT my goal! Mary did not have me try on a million different frames. I told her what I wanted she listened attentively and then picked out a few for me to try on. We found the PERFECT frames FAST and it took less than 10 minutes. She is an EXPERT! I worked for an optician's office for many years in CA and I never witnessed anyone like Mary. In addition Mary is very thorough. She works on Tuesdays and Thursdays and believe me you want her to assist you! So make sure you book your appointment on one of those 2 days. If you have to wait I assure you she is more than worth it. Everyone in the office was incredibly nice. But Mary is my absolute favorite. If she ever leaves RO I will follow her!! Waited at the desk for service. Everyone seemed to be busy, so I waited patiently for some help. While standing at the desk someone else walked in behind me and proceeded to wait behind me. Finally, someone that works there was done with the previous client and became free. She completely ignored me (and I'm 6'3' kinda hard to miss) and turns to the person behind me and asks "Can I help You"? I was there because my wife and I just got insurance and wanted to set up eye exams to purchase some glasses, finally. I turned around and walked out!!! The most basic service, FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!! Ever here of it? I wasn't the only one, I heard others complaining as I stood and waited for the service that never came. We've had exceptionally good service at Raymond's in even a rare circumstance a bit bumpy (e.g. a manufacturer's frame was problematic once over a number of years). It was so abundantly clear that customer regards took priority in resolving the matter beautifully, going above and beyond any expectations. Raymond listened well, then looked into the product closely, including reviews and their own dedicated store stress testing. They canceled that whole product line as less than representative of the higher standard they seek to uphold. Combine that level of service, as well as variety of options with warm caring treatment and it's actually a pleasure to visit Raymond in Jefferson Valley as the need arises. read more

so incredibly disappointed - I had an eye exam scheduled, and was very excited that I could get a pair of glasses thru obamacare! I arrived for my appointment, they said the dr had thrown her back out shoveling the latest snow storm (understandable) but that they spoke to a spanish woman (wtf?!?) and cancelled my appointment (not true and argumentative - it was my day off at my business that I owned and a voicemail was left on my work phone) Anyway - I figured I would reschedule the exam and at least pick out a pair of frames since my mom had accompanied me for a second opinion.... WELL - no one would come over and help me, they said "#1 are your panel of frames...I think = cheap ones for affordable healthcare) and while I looked at the frames, and tried not to get discouraged, all of the associates ignored me and kept doing their busy work until other higher paying customers came in and they rushed over to their every need....I was very unhappy with the unprofessionalism and after standing and asking for help, with no response, finally just walked out! Afterwards I went to Plaza Optical in Monroe, NY (845) 783-4400 and they were outstanding...I've written an honest review about their wonderful help and professionalism, if you'd like to read more! This branch of Raymond is the absolute worst, They are vindictive liars. I had my recent prescription faxed to them because I had just lost my new glasses. I picked out a frame, they made the glasses and when I went to pick them up they wanted to charge me $154 more than I should have paid because I have insurance that their Hopewell Junction branch accepted five months ago. They wouldn't budge on the price and said that branch accepts my insurance and they don't??? Thought you are all Raymond Opticians? So I left without buying the glasses. I returned ten minutes later and asked if I could get a copy of my prescription so I could go to another place. She looked me in the eye and said" Oh, we don't have your file anymore, so we can't give you your prescription". She had it in her hand ten minutes earlier. It was at the very least in a garbage can in their office. I don't think they shred things right away. She lied to me because I wouldn't pay her crazy price.....Stay away from these unethical, lying people. read more

The office staff needs to get it together. Its like a headless horseman and I haven't spoken to the same person twice. Had to keep going back for different trial contacts because they didn't have them in stock. They gave me temp contacts that were the wrong prescription. They lost the documentation from my initial exam. The right hand and left hand are not talking here. They also are not particularly helpful. If I didn't project manage this thing, I would never have gotten the correct lenses. read more

I just got my Wood and Gold eyeglasses back and it's damaged and the store in New Rochelle is taking no ownership for cracking my expensive eyeglasses. On top of this to be called a liar by the store manager is incomprehensible. When I brought my glasses into the store to have the lens replaced, the frame had one crack and the manager looked at it and said she would ask if they would be able to do replace the lens. The crack was on the outer side of the frame. She said yes they can do it. Today, I saw that my glasses. There are now two cracks, a new crack in the inner side near the nose piece with GLUE, that was not there when I gave the glasses to the store. When I called the store to let them know of the damage, the manager accused me of lying stating that the glasses were given to the store with both cracks and glued. First of all, I would never try to add glue on Gold and Wood glasses! And the store would never have accepted glasses that would not hold a lens in place with cracks on the left and right side of the frame holding the left lens. And to be told a liar over the phone, I cannot describe the insult. I work in Human Resources as a Vice President and am just shocked. To post a strong complaint on social media, it's not something I would do. But this really drew the line for me. If Raymond Opticians followed due diligence and investigated exactly what happened and looked into the matter, I would have moved on and but when my character is being questioned and... called a liar is just... outrageous! read more

ConEd retiree, Thursday 6/28, had the eye exam and picked out my frame. The salesman proceeds to tell me I've got a $175.00 dollar co-payment. In the past 35 years I've never had a co-payment. I get home and go on line to retiree benefits, no co-payment. I called to double check, no co-payment. I called another store in White Plains, no co-payment. Friday 6/29, I go back to Raymond Optical with the print out from employee benefits which states there's no difference in the plan, employee's and retiree's benefits are the same. THE STORY NOW CHANGES. They now state that my prescription is very strong and they don't get paid enough for it and that's why I should pay an additional $175.00. They don't use the standard progressive lens they use specialized lenses. My prescription has not changed in 10 years . Two different stories, IF YOU WON'T HONOR THE PLAN... GET OUT OF THE PLAN. read more

Horrible place, terrible customer service. This place is a scam: they charged me for things that are fully covered by my insurance (they are in-network providers, mind you!), wanted to overcharge me for contact fittings and contacts (which were for the largest part covered by my insurance), and when I didn't agree the owner told me (through his cigarette smelling assistant) he didn't want to help me any more. Also they don't call back when you ask them to and make you wait a long time (over an hour) for a scheduled eye-exam. Will never ever return, and would advise everyone to not go here!!! read more
