She has arthritis in her back but she started to lose her hind legs from underneath her. She would fall several times a day. She was having trouble getting up from sitting or lying down. I tried to call our vet we had been taking all our animals to, but they were unable to get her in for another whole week. At this point my baby girl was whining from her pain. I looked around for other vets and ER vets. That's when I came across River's Edge Pet Medical Clinic. They got her in the next day. When we arrived we were instantly greeted. When they took us back to the room, the girl who wrote down what was going on with Isabella and our concerns. She also has a cough and gags while coughing. They addressed that issues as well. Dr. Gray was amazing with our dog, took his time examining her and listening to her heart, checked her legs, hips and back. He explained what Isabella is going through, was very thorough in explaining her condition. He went over possible medical procedures that could be done later if that's what we would want to do. He didn't push for extra tests or x-rays. He gave us a good a good therapeutic treatment for her, that is the best for her at this stage. She was given a pain shot and they filled the other pain medication for her there. He also went over some things we should do and change in our home for her to make it easier for her to walk, sit and sleep. Discussed raising her food and water dish so she is not bending all the way down while eating or drinking. Make a ramp so she doesn't have to go up or down stairs and changed how many times a day she is fed. So 4-5 times a day instead of 2 times and just divided what she was eating in the 2 feedings into 4. This will help her acid reflux and her esophagus because that he said is irritated. We got more questions answered by a vet we saw for the first time, than we have with the vet she has been seeing. We were shocked when we were given the price break down of the visit because it was a lot cheaper than we thought we were going to pay. We would have paid at least $600 plus at our regular vet but this visit was only $223 and it was an urgent care visit which costs more. I am so impressed with how well they were with our dog and explaining everything to us, that we are changing vets. We will now be taking all our animals here. Yeah, I may have to drive 30 minutes to get there as to only 10 minutes to our old vet; but it totally worth the drive! Thank you for making us feel comfortable and helping Isabella with her pain. I definitely recommend this vet!!

A couple months ago, I took my 5-year-old pitbull to Rivers Edge around 7 PM because he had…read moresuddenly started limping and completely refused to put weight on one of his back legs. He was in so much pain that my boyfriend had to carry him to the car. When we got there, the exam basically consisted of having him walk around the office and moving his leg back and forth a few times. My dog was clearly stressed and uncomfortable. He eventually hid behind a chair and even peed. I was told they heard some clicking in his leg, but that it was probably nothing serious. They sent us home with ibuprofen and charged about $170 for the visit and medication. I barely could sleep that night due to feeling so unsure about the diagnosis. The next morning, my dog was still limping and obviously in pain, so I called his regular vet for a second opinion. They got him in right away. The FIRST thing my vet asked was why my dog had been prescribed medication dosed for a Chihuahua. He told me the ibuprofen likely wasn't even touching my poor baby's pain. :( Unlike Rivers Edge, my regular vet was immediately concerned about the severity of the lameness and recommended X-rays. Turns out my dog had a severely torn ligament, arthritis in the affected knee, and an early tear starting in the other knee as well. I'm honestly disappointed that such a serious injury was dismissed as "probably nothing serious." If I had just trusted that assessment, my dog would have continued suffering without proper treatment. Based on my experience, I will not be returning to Rivers Edge.

Chrissy trained both my australian labradoodle and his sister who was adopted by a neighbor, before…read morewe took them home (they were puppies that we adopted from spring creek labradoodle). She did an amazing job. Both dogs came crate trained, fairly potty trained (as much as a puppy can be), trained to come at command, to sit, stay, etc. My favorite is "leave it". We can literally put a juicy piece of chicken right next to him and tell him to leave it and he will! Our puppy is now 7 months old and the best behaved puppy we could have hoped for. Everyone that meets him comments on how well behaved he is and what a good dog is. Chrissy clearly has a natural love for animals and we couldn't have been happier with the training.

It was a big commitment to travel to Eugene, OR for training, but well worth it. We gained valuable skills and insights that we can continue to use to improve our communication, relationship, and results with our service dog. With my daughter's daily practice between lessons, we saw immediate improvement in Jada's ability to learn, general behavior, and enthusiasm to work. CPT uses a balanced approach and customized plan for training that is scientifically based. We met with Chrissy in-person for our training, but I would be 100% confident to also recommend her for the board-and-train service as well. She is a competent trainer who cares about your dog's well-being in the training process; she will do right by your pup!
