I was…read morepeacefully soaking in the bathtub when the water began to swirl, the porcelain groaned, and I was swept away into the mysterious tropical wilderness of Disney World. There, I encountered a peculiar spirit who led me directly to the wave pool. A tremendous wave crashed over me, releasing the spirit from my body--and, in a touching gesture of supernatural gratitude, he purchased me a cup of Dippin' Dots. In all seriousness, Typhoon Lagoon is one of my favorite water parks. The wave pool is fantastic, and Castaway Creek--the lazy river--is wonderfully relaxing. There are plenty of rides for thrill-seekers, while the entire park is beautifully themed around the aftermath of a tropical storm. Even the walking paths are thoughtfully designed, with little water sprayers keeping the pavement damp so your feet don't feel as though they're marching across the surface of the sun. There are plenty of dining and drinking options throughout the park, and the atmosphere is cheerful, immersive, and unmistakably Disney. The after-hours event is also a tremendous amount of fun, especially with the park illuminated at night. Seeing the slides, palm trees, wave pool, and storm-tossed scenery glowing after sunset gives the place an entirely different personality--almost as if the typhoon itself has returned from beyond the grave. Whether you want to relax, ride some excellent attractions, float along the lazy river, or be spiritually cleansed by a six-foot wave before receiving complimentary Dippin' Dots from a benevolent ghost, Typhoon Lagoon is well worth visiting.

The wave pool was hands down the coolest feature. Watching those giant waves roll in was so much fun and unlike any other wave pool I've experienced. I could have spent hours just hanging out there. The lazy river was nice and relaxing, but be prepared to exercise a little patience if you're hoping to grab a tube since they can be in high demand throughout the day. Pro tip: get there right at opening if you want to snag a lounge chair. They go quickly, especially on busy days. Another perk? Disney provides as many towels as you need, which was a nice touch and one less thing to worry about packing. Overall, Typhoon Lagoon is a great way to cool off, relax, and have some Disney fun.

The park itself is fun, clean, and once the rain stopped the lines were much shorter. I was also happy to see that the hot water in the showers was finally working again. The last few times we visited there was no hot water, so that was a nice improvement. One area that really needs attention is the bee problem. They were everywhere. My daughter was stung, although I do want to give a huge thank you to the First Aid team. After I removed the stinger, they quickly brought numbing medication and ice, which helped tremendously, and she was able to enjoy the rest of our day. Aquatica should seriously consider investing in professional bee management, including traps or other safe methods to draw bees away from heavily populated guest areas. My biggest concern, however, was employee professionalism. Around 7:44 p.m., outside the Aquatica exit near the employee entrance, I observed what appeared to be an employee rolling what looked like a marijuana joint in plain view. If security cameras cover that area, management should review the footage. In addition, several employees at the food registers seemed more interested in asking girls for their phone numbers than helping the customers who were standing there trying to order food. The park is clearly staffed primarily by teenagers and young adults, which is understandable, but customer service expectations and professionalism need to be reinforced. Overall, we still had a fun day, especially after the weather improved, and the attractions continue to make Aquatica worth visiting. I just hope management addresses the employee conduct issues and the bee problem because both take away from what is otherwise a great water park. Oh also, if you normally use the green life vests, they did do away with those. That's the adult large. They only have XS, medium and xxL. I will add, the coffee at scoops ice cream area was very good. I got an vanilla latte

Hannah, our concierge, was the best. She made sure we never ran out of anything. Our cabana was right near a drink filling station, which was very convenient. It was also right next to an entrance to the lazy river, which was perfect. The water temperature was amazing. It was a pretty warm day and the water felt fantastic. In the afternoon, we ordered several platters, and one of them was the charcuterie spread. The Mickey had goat cheese was delicious. All the arrangements were fantastic. We also got the chicken fingers and the nacho bar which I forgot to take pictures of lol because we dug right in. Overall, when going with a group to the water parks, it is definitely worthwhile to all chip in and rent a cabana. 10/10 we would do this again.

Volcano Bay is my absolute favorite water park, and I've been to many! This was our second visit,…read moreand my husband and I actually go for our anniversary. We like visiting around this time of year, toward the end of September and within the last few weeks before closing, because while it can still be popular, it's nowhere near as busy as the peak summer season. Volcano Bay is unique because you park in the Universal parking garage, the same garage used for CityWalk. Parking is $35. From the first floor, you go through security before boarding a bus to the water park. This is the only way to get there. Thankfully, both times we visited, the process was very quick. We didn't have to wait for a bus since they were constantly coming through. The park itself, and the walk up to it, is gorgeous! All the little details throughout the park really make it stand out, which is one of the reasons I especially love it. We've purchased tickets online before, and this time we purchased them at Guest Services. Online, Florida residents can get a discounted price, while you cannot get that price on site. That said, when we visited, they told us the price was the same that day, so it wouldn't have mattered for us. The entire park basically functions as one giant circle. We always start to the left because that's where the closest lockers and restrooms are. There are three locker sizes, and we purchased the smallest for around $18. It fit our beach bag and a travel bag with a change of clothes, so I thought it was a decent size. This area also has restrooms, showers, and a standing dryer. For $7, you get three minutes. It didn't completely dry us, but it definitely helped! Of course, the iconic volcano is the centerpiece of the park. At its base is the wave pool, surrounded by tons of free lounge chairs and umbrellas on soft white sand. Throughout the park are multiple water slides, including single and multi-person slides, open and enclosed slides, inner tubes, and a water coaster. There are also several areas for toddlers and young children, plus a lazy river and the Crazy River, which is my FAVORITE! You wear a life vest and float through a roaring, wavy river. It is SO much fun and surprisingly fast! There are multiple food locations throughout the park, but keep in mind that each has different menu options. They also have misters throughout the park, including ones that cool the flooring. On especially hot days, this is a lifesaver for your feet! The slides can be pretty strict about what you can bring. Certain slides don't allow loose clothing or cover-ups, shoes, or cell phones, while others are less strict. Thankfully, they have small open cubbies at the beginning of every ride for belongings you can't or don't want to take with you. My favorite slide is the OhNo! drop slide, and my favorite ride overall is the Krakatau Water Coaster. SO much fun! They have also changed their express system since our last visit in 2020. This time, you entered the express line and your band was scanned closer to the ride entrance. The bands are fair because you can only use them once per slide or ride. They also have two types of express passes, one covering all rides and another covering the multi-rider slides. We grabbed food around 3:30, which worked out great because it wasn't crowded. We had burgers and fries, and both were good. Just be aware that drinks do not have free refills, although I believe there is a cup upgrade for unlimited refills. You can also bring your own food and water into the park. I didn't realize this and brought an empty bottle to fill, but our friend brought two full water bottles in without an issue. We were able to ride every slide and even ride some twice, plus enjoy the wave pool and Crazy River multiple times. We had an absolute blast, as always, and I already can't wait for our next visit!

While I do miss some of the perks that used to come with the annual pass, it's still the water park that works best for my family, which is why we continue to renew. The park is clean, the attractions are fun for both kids and adults, and there's a good mix of thrill rides and areas to relax. It's a great place to spend a full day making family memories. Customer service can be a bit hit or miss, but many of the employees are younger and still learning, so I try to keep that in perspective. The standout for us is always the lifeguards--they're attentive, professional, and genuinely interact with the kids, helping everyone feel safe while still having fun. Overall, despite the reduced passholder perks over the years, Island H2O continues to offer a fun, family-friendly experience that's worth visiting. We'll definitely be back for another season.

The check-in process was a little slow-going, but the staff were friendly and professional and got us taken care of as soon as possible. On the website and in emails, they tell you what you need to bring and what they provide. DON'T FORGET YOUR WATERPROOF PHONE CASES! They don't include that on the list, but they sell them for $40. Bring your GoPro too, if you have one. For some of the special experiences, like the SeaVenture, they will offer to let you use one and then they will charge you for the videos and images. I was kicking myself because I forgot to bring either. Our interactions with the gift store staff were probably the least enjoyable. They seemed uninterested in assisting us and would rather count down their drawers or take inventory than ring us out. One lady told us that the other would assist us but eventually saw that the extensive wait time was unreasonable, especially in an otherwise empty store. Our most enjoyable interactions were with the marine life! I was not a fan of the full-body wetsuit that I was told was required for the SeaVenture. Sizing was eye-balled and inaccurate! I also got a pretty nasty rash after wearing it. I have extremely sensitive skin that did not agree with that material or the fact that it is shared and I'm not sure how they are cleaned/sanitized. When we arrived to the SeaVenture, almost every other participant was wearing the short-sleeved, shorts version of the wetsuit. I wish I had been given the option to choose. The dolphins were absolutely adorable and so entertaining. The aviary was fun and interesting, and the birds ate ALL DAY, despite what I'd read and heard through videos about needing to get there first thing in the morning. The current in the lazy river was the only thing lazy about the river. You do have to work to move around in there. I spent the majority of my time in the grand reef. Snorkeling for the first time in an atmosphere like this was 10 out of 10 highly recommended! If we come back again in the future, we'll skip the Day Bed rental, as we didn't utilize it at all. I got it just in case it started raining. I wanted us to have shelter. It did rain while we were there and I just stayed in the Grand Reef until it stopped! We had fun during our "under the sea" adventure (SeaVenture), but I could skip that next time. I would've opted for a dolphin encounter instead. The food was just okay. It's hard to mess up breakfast, so it was good, but lunch was meh. I had some very basic salmon and some creamy, but unseasoned, macaroni and cheese. We also had the drink package and tried to get our money's worth, but it isn't very wise to get tipsy and go snorkeling, so opted to focus on the snorkeling.
