The positive was the communication coming to my home was actually positive. I knew when the tech was coming. I did not read these reviews prior to this company coming to my home and now see a trend. Any review that was related to a home warranty company had a problem. That was exactly what happened to me this week. I didn't appreciate the way the tech was talking to my 73-year-old father as if he damaged our refrigerator on purpose. I have paid a couple thousand dollars having this ice maker fridge fixed for 2 years. None of us know how to work on this type of work so that is why I pay every month for a home warranty for these items. He was here all of 10 minutes to basically told my father he was a liar and that he damaged us himself and caused the warranty to be void. I was upset by this but what really upset me was that it was reported back to my home warranty company that we misused and abused our equipment and that it is out of warranty. At the time of the visit. This could never be fixed is what was told, but interestingly enough if I were willing to accept costs that are TBD by the contractor. They could come out and fix it. I don't want something for anything. I just want what I'm paying for and I don't appreciate being told that I'm misusing and abusing my appliances when I don't know the first thing about them. read more

We noticed our refrigerator and freezer were not properly operating and the temperatures rising. It was Sunday, of course, however Ray came out shortly after I reached out. He assessed the problem and said he'd text a estimate. The estimate seemed very reasonable. He came out the next day and repaired our refrigerator. We couldn't be happier. Ray was hired by Home Warranty company to repair my furnace. There was a gas leak coming through a valve in the "controls" within my furnace. Ray showed up 1.5 hours late for our appointment at nearly 6pm. He spent 10 min at my place and left telling me that he knew exactly which piece needed replace and that it was going to be $400. He asked for $150 -the deductible for repair jobs from the warranty company. He will say this is standard procedure but the warranty company insists this is not their policy and that the only fee to be paid on the first visit is the diagnostic fee. It appears this is Ray's MO to steal deductibles. I gave him the check for $150. i did not hear from Ray for over two weeks even after texting him and leaving voicemails. After he caught wind I was calling the warranty company to check on him he texted me back and said he was waiting on their approval when they said that he had not completed his required diagnosis and that they were waiting on him to reply. A month after the initial visit I finally scheduled Ray to come back to make the repair. Ray gave me a window of 12-2. I texted him asking him if he was coming with no reply. After the window passed I called him a few times with no answer. At 4:30 I finally got a hold of him and he blamed being late on the previous customer. I had plans at 6 and he had told me the job would take 2 hours so I asked him to come back the next day between 430-5. He showed up at 415 at my house and asked to be let in. I was still at work 15 minutes away. He later said I was 30 minutes late. I was at my house at 435. I was 5 minutes late because I did not expect him to be on time. I let him in and prepared for him to be there for 2 hours as he had told me. 5 minutes after he arrived he called me down to the basement and said the issue was fixed, He said he had twisted a pipe within the furnace and there was no leak. He had a ten dollar natural gas detector from Amazon and waved it by the furnace. I do not know enough to check his work. He left that day without fixing the problem he had diagnosed to the warranty company or without using the piece he had supposedly ordered. He was worried about his work and recommended that I call the gas company back to check. He would later contend he made that recommendation to check the rest of the line as a courtesy which is a lie. I did not immediately call the gas company but he texted the next week unprompted and I knew something was wrong. I called the gas company and they came back and the same issue was unresolved. I told Ray and he did not respond. Since he was showing no interest in owning up to his incompetency I found another company to come out. They diagnosed the problem and quoted me 495$. At this point I thought I would ask Ray for my money back since he had not fixed anything. He became very upset at this and contended he had fixed the problem. I would contend then why was he at my house for 5 minutes when he said it would take 2.5 hours and why did he not fix what he had diagnosed or use the piece he ordered. He said he would not return my money and that I was being manipulative and after exchanging some terse words he blocked me. The new furnace company came to do the repair and they actually found that their was an important safety piece called the "high limit" missing completely. I am not sure if Ray removed this piece but the technician said this was highly dangerous and could have put buy family at risk. I am not sure if Ray messed with the unit. At the very least it was negligent and he is masquerading as a repairman, at the most he posed a danger to my family. Ray should not be hired by anyone. My warranty company is to blame for hiring someone to repair my furnace who has no mention of furnace on their website. I am to blame for paying Ray without an invoice and without questioning the deductible policy. Ray is ultimately to blame for being a thief, a liar, a crook, and for putting my family in danger with his negligence and ineptitude. Do not use Ray One. read more

He "serviced" our dishwasher in March 2022. The drying feature wasn't working and when he looked at it, he moved the hot coil off the bracket and didn't put it back on the bracket when he was done. when I ran it again the coil MELTED through the bottom of the dishwasher and water poured into the basement. he took no ownership and decided to tell our warrenty company he didn't want to service us. this guy is a fraud and takes money from warrenty companies. read more

Home Warranty company sent Ray to fix our refrigerator. We didn't notice he scratched our wooden floor while pulling the refrigerator door out and in until he left. The HW company wanted us to deal with him directly. When we got ahold of him, he admitted he scratched the floor because he couldn't see the floor while pulling the refrigerator door out. I asked him if he was a professional, wouldn't he have prepared for this situation beforehand when he came to fix the fridge? He kept talking over me and hang up on me. ZERO STARS!!!!! Very unprofessional. They do not follow through with their appointments and never call to say they can't make it. They have missed multiple appointments to fix my appliances. I would not recommend them nor would I allow them into my home. Our insurance company hired him when our electrical panel on our dishwasher was acting up. Instead of unscrewing the front he popped it open and broke several pieces inside the front door which caused the door to hang open and leak. The worst part is that he said it was like that before and would not accept responsibility. Another contractor and our insurance company determined he was at fault. He has now preceded to deny fault with his insurance carrier so they can't pay us for having to replace it. I would not recommend using him as your appliance may end up destroyed and you footing the bill! *update: since he wants to reply 5 years later thought I would respond. So not trying to get anything free as it is all covered under warranty so that argument doesn't apply. This man doesn't seem to understand that then 28 year old me was the owner of the home and was there. My oldest daughter was 8 and at school so thank you for the compliment of assuming I was under 18. My mother was there also at one of the visits to witness his mistakes. She not being the owner of the home. I think it is important that people admit when they make a mistake because it is just good business. You obviously knew you messed up the first time which is why you brought a young man with you the second. I think your reviews speak for themselves and you only sometimes know what you are doing. read more

Called him out as my normal repair guy is on vacation, have a bad circuit on my dryer that I'm aware of and needs fixed every now and then, Affordable Appliance Repair has repaired it 3 times now for $60-70 and Ray-One quotes me $225, wouldn't even tell me the name of the part he was going to replace so I knew he was at least replacing the correct one. We had some water lingering in the bottom of our dishwasher. Called Ray and he was out later that day to determine the problem. He suggested it may be our pump. He ordered it and installed it within a week. He even followed up after he installed the pump to make sure everything was running well. Great help to us. Educated us regarding our dishwasher and was very professional. Loved the follow up after his installation. Highly recommend. read more
