I'm not sure how Ray has gotten so many great reviews. I have hired him 3 times and the last two times have been terrible experiences. First of all, Ray and his son do the work. Which is fine because they are both knowledgeable electricians. But they are father and son and THEY BICKER AND FIGHT ALL THE TIME. I actually had to leave the room several times while they were working because I couldn't stand their fighting anymore. Highly unprofessional. Also, Ray Senior doesn't seem to care much about the details anymore. He replaced an outlet panel with a different size one and left an exposed hole in the wall. When I asked him about it, he said, "the new plate is a different size so you'll have to get someone to patch the hole." He seems to think that his only responsibility is doing the electrical work and if he makes a mess in the process, its not his problem. Would have been nice for him to inform me of this in advance. He broke a bulb while installing a light fixture recently and was not planning to tell me. I only found out when I walked into the room and stepped on a piece of broken glass and cut myself. Then he said, "Oh, I dropped something and it broke." HUH? when were you planning to tell me? When I asked him to find a replacement part, he gave me a million excuses and tried to get me to buy it. Ray has more jobs than he can handle, so he's not in any rush to return phone calls. He has told me several times, "just keep texting me and bugging me, otherwise I won't return your call." Ray needs to retire and let his son run the business. Don't hire them unless you love to listen to people argue and want bare minimum service. read more

I called Ray and left him a voicemail on day 1, no return call. Day 2 I text him and he texts me back saying he "hasnt even checked his messages from 2 days ago." Call this guy!!! Seriously I wouldn't look any further. We had called about 5 different electrician's to do that same job, hanging 4 chandeliers, 2 basic ones, 1 large and one super large. One guy even quoted, turned up and refused to do the job. Ray quoted an approx price and kept to his word, even when the job got way more involved than any of us realized. Now that's customer service. His phone rang off the hook for jobs while he was at our place and he was always nice to everyone and tried to help out where he could, even squeezing other people in around his committed jobs. Cannot thank Ray and his son Ray enough for saving the day! One electrician had backed out and needed some work done that day. I called in the afternoon but Ray was able to get his son over here to do the work I needed done. Work was done quickly and at a reasonable price. The other electricians I had talked to before hiring the flake electrician were giving me quotes that of over $650 for work that would only take about 2.5 hours to complete. My air conditioning failed a couple days ago -- just in time for our 100 degree heat-wave weekend, ugh. The AC guy came this morning and told me "oh, you need an electrician." We interviewed 4 electricians all together and finally found the best one! Thanks to all of you I took your recommendation and decided to call Ray in November to work on our new home. Him and his sons (Ray Jr, and Ryan) came and placed recess lighting, installed lighting in all the bedrooms, ceiling fan in our master bedroom, and heater, exhaust fan in bathroom. We also had other issues in the house, which they were able to resolve. We are so happy we have found our electrician. I highly recommend giving them a call!! They are very easy to work with, reasonable pricing, professional, great personality, hard working, and great at what they do. Yes, they are busy. 5 star average should say it all, who can keep that up nowadays...but let me offer my insight: Ray and his team is the best out there! Top grade materials used. I had nearly a dozen lights installed during my remodel in studio city (most of them recessed) and they look fantastic. He even led me to install a sweet switch that controls all the lighting zones on my first floor. * MOST IMPORTANTLY--Ray was on time, pro-active, answered the phone whenever you needed to get ahold of him and never left you waiting after the job began. He offered quick, efficient, and fantastic service, not to mention he is one heck of a stand up guy! Even offered great referrals for a plumber and an HVAC guy that proved to be great hires. The saying in construction and remodel services is: "Good, Cheap, Fast--Choose 2!" He was actually great and fast, not cheap, but definitely worth the FAIR PRICE he charges. His services and work ethic are worth more than he will charge you. He is licensed and bonded and gives you the piece of mind of backing his work up and being diligent in quickly solving any problems that may arise during a job. Shy away from going the cheap route and finding someone on craigslist that will give you a great quote, but do a crappy job, use sub-par materials, and work on their own timetable. I've learned from the past to find someone who is competent and trustworthy to do the job. Saving a little money often leads to adding a huge headache to your home remodel experience. You also want to be able to trust the person you hire to be in your home because you may not be there the whole time--Ray is that gentleman. **Also note that when adding recessed lights, many electricians don't use the proper tools and technique to reduce the amount of dust and debris that comes with cutting into your ceiling/drywall. I had Ray Mount Electrical out to my house to handle a minor electrical issue, as a result of some contractor work that was occurring at the beginning of a large-scale house fix/remodel project. I had not really considered doing much more extensive electrical work to my place (mostly, as a lack of imagination on my end). Ray and his son came out, fixed my minor issue, and while there, had a look at my kitchen and living room. They told me that it really would not be difficult to put in recessed lighting in my living room (which would solve a lack-of-light issue - i previously had to rely on torchieres, as there were no ceiling lights), and also to remove a hideous drop-ceiling style fluorescent lighting setup I had in the kitchen, and install recessed LED's there too. They estimated maybe 2 days' work, and the cost was not out of line with what my research subsequently found for this type of work, plus it would be a great opportunity to do any such changes, before my ceilings were worked on by my main contractor. I took them up on getting a formal estimate, and we booked. The kitchen tear-out of the soffit went quickly, and the living room went pretty smoothly - the only issue was that there were some challenging runs of wire, given where some joists were, but they were able to work around them, and at the end of the day, only one very small hole was cut in the ceiling, that wasn't ultimately needed (and which my contractor fixed while he was doing his finishes). They also re-wired my light switches in the living room, so I had two fader switches controlling the six cans, plus grouped my exterior lights on one panel, plus converted an outlet to unswitched. I added on one additional LED in the kitchen and one LED at the top of the stairs. While Ray & son didn't handle ceiling finishes and drywall, by having them do their work first, I rolled those fixes into my other contractor work, so no problem. But as far as the lighting goes, I am completely satisfied. Their work on the lights completely changed the character of my living room, kitchen, and stairway, and fit smoothly with the work I had done subsequently, and I love the results. No hesitation to recommend them, and I would call them the next time I have electrical needs. read more

Ray is an excellent Electrician. After calling about 10 different electricians and scheduling estimates I decided to call Ray. He was able to come out on Friday after I got out of work to do an estimate even though he would be chancing bad Friday traffic. He got back to me right away with a quote and I was able to schedule him that next week on a day that worked for me. He came out with his two sons at the EXACT time he said he would and worked hard all day to get the work done. All of the work was done cleanly and did not require any patch work. Ray and his sons are great. It's so difficult to find someone honest and reliable, and I was so relieved to find a great electrician like Ray. The lights in half of our house just blew out, we had 2 other guys come take a look and they were talking about tearing down our walls and quoted us about $2000 on the work needed to fix the problem. Ray went around the whole house and double checked for every single possible problem, found the problem in one of the bathrooms, and by just connecting 2 wires solved our whole issue and only charged us for a visit (not for any work). Like his honesty. My inspector suggested us replace the electric panel due to potential hazard of spray paint on the switches. Ray came over to give us an estimate but he said there was no need to replace the panel, which costs $900. We don't have a connection on the ceiling for light or a fan, and he worked around that, did the installation on the light/fan fixture, and we just have to use a remote control.
