The grass is lush and well kept, and there are even trees being planted for future shade! What I love the most is how HUGE the space is for the big dogs. Just make sure to pick out a poopy bag from the front of the gate before you get in because the one inside is pretty far off. The only thing though is that it's just a damn shame there are still some nasty pet owners who don't take responsibility for their own pet and pick up after them. They have 2 play structures, a baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball area, and a soccer field. They also have a large, covered picnic area right in the center of it all. You can reserve this space from the city of Pittsburg on non-holiday weekends. The only bad thing about this park is the wind. We all know that when we are playing a sport, the wind can carry the ball in unwanted directions. That's my only reason this park didn't make the 5 stars cut.

It's very popular with dog walkers but not much to see in terms of flowers or landscaped scenary. Lots of trees that look wind blown and tired. There's a warning about coyotes. This is supposed to be coyote territory so I was scared to venture beyond the busier main area to explore. There's also a small community garden nearby but it's locked up and you can't enter it but it's super small so you can see pretty much everything from the outside of the fence. A bit of a sad park. I recommended Blake Garden in Kensington which has very limited hours but there's so much more to see there and it's also free.

I've never ran into shady characters here. Those I have met have been nice and welcoming. There's two playgrounds here. One has a gate/fence surrounding it. I don't necessarily trust that one because people like to let loose their dogs into it and never pick up the poo. There's a nice little loop that people can ride their bikes/scooters/etc around or even run/jug around. I tend to go on that when I go run. There's a basketball half court that always good to use. There's not a lot of seat it here. One table. Two benches. Plenty of parking around this area. If you live in it, obviously you got your garage, but you can park on the street. THERE SHOULD BE A WATER FOUNTAIN. Like what's the deal with that? It gets hot out. Overall, this park has been useful to me and to the neighborhood. It's mostly clean. On our way there we passed by several homeless people and potheads which I thought wasn't a safe environment for children to play around. We also saw several piles of glass on the bridge next to the park. The actual park was dirty and had leaves and insects everywhere. There were two playgrounds across from each other with a few benches. They were quite small and lame and the padding underneath the wood chips was sticking up. Even drove passed it a million times, but finally stopped by to get a quick little hike in one evening. All I can say is daaaayum. What a beauty!!! Not only are the hiking trails wonderful, but the actual park itself is great. It's super clean with lots of parking and restrooms on site. They've got a kid's playground area, a soccer field, and even a track for some easy exercise. There's also an adjoining park that has tons of picnic tables and outdoor exercise equipment as well as several large grassy fields and walking paths (Hidden Valley Park). And those lakes! They are simply beautiful. They really sneak up on you too. I took a short walking path from Hidden Valley Park and connected to Hidden Lakes. Turned a corner and then BOOM! This beautiful little lake seemingly appeared out of nowhere. There's a nice little waterfall. Not sure if there are actually any fish in this lake, but I did witness one person fishing (or at least trying too). The hikes in this park are all on the shorter side but perfect for a quick little jaunt. You can also extend it by connecting the nearby walking paths for a longer excursions. What's nice is that there are several hills that you can climb up to get some inclines in. And once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with some wonderful views of tbt entire park as well as some great panoramic views of the city. I was seriously in awe during my entire time here. This is such a gorgeous and extremely well maintained park that's perfect for kids, pets, and families. Will definitely be getting my butt out here again before the end of summer.
