The grass is lush and well kept, and there are even trees being planted for future shade! What I love the most is how HUGE the space is for the big dogs. The only thing though is that it's just a damn shame there are still some nasty pet owners who don't take responsibility for their own pet and pick up after them. I've never ran into shady characters here. Those I have met have been nice and welcoming. There's two playgrounds here. One has a gate/fence surrounding it. I don't necessarily trust that one because people like to let loose their dogs into it and never pick up the poo. There's a nice little loop that people can ride their bikes/scooters/etc around or even run/jug around. I tend to go on that when I go run. There's a basketball half court that always good to use. There's not a lot of seat it here. One table. Two benches. Plenty of parking around this area. If you live in it, obviously you got your garage, but you can park on the street. THERE SHOULD BE A WATER FOUNTAIN. Like what's the deal with that? It gets hot out. Overall, this park has been useful to me and to the neighborhood. It's mostly clean. On our way there we passed by several homeless people and potheads which I thought wasn't a safe environment for children to play around. We also saw several piles of glass on the bridge next to the park. The actual park was dirty and had leaves and insects everywhere. There were two playgrounds across from each other with a few benches. They were quite small and lame and the padding underneath the wood chips was sticking up. There is also a giant facility next to the park with large trucks carrying metal beams.

There are so many overrated parks around - this is not one of them. I think its an underrated park in an underrated city. Martinez is one of these cities that just isn't Walnut Creek or Danville or Orinda. A more affordable city and a family friendly one. Its good to get out and take a walk. I recommend you do that once in a while and why not try a different park from what your used to every once in a while? If you have a dog they will particularly love it sniffing around someplace new. Some of the park is noticed from the main road - Morello. You might even see some people enjoying the basketball hoop from there. Just the 'curb appeal' of the park will get you interested to see more. When I got here with Sweets had in gear this launch mode I hadn't seen since he was a bit younger. His enthusiasm was intense and I was surprised since for the most part he just likes to stay at home - Netflix and chill. There really is something for the whole family to enjoy here.
