While it was still under warranty, the torque converter on my 2019 Blazer Premier started slipping, so I took it to the Chevrolet dealer Ray Dennison's in Pekin, IL. The dealer said that the recommended fix was to change the transmission fluid. This seemed to help "for awhile". Unfortunately, the torque converter is now slipping again, and the warranty period has since expired. However, Dennison's was able to convince Chevrolet to repair/replace the Torque converter since it was originally brought in when the car was still under warranty. read more

I am naturally skeptical of car dealers, like most I hate the experience of buying a new car. A few times I have run into a sales person that makes the process palatable and that's what happened here. David the salesman and Chris the finance manager were an absolute pleasure to work with. Felt a lot more casual and just easy to talk to and do business with. These guys earned my business and now I will keep the relationship up with them by taking my vehicle there for service even though it's not the closest option. read more

I am starting a new career as an RCA. (Rural carrier associate) with the USPS. Thus, I need a right side drive vehicle. (RHD) After tracking one down at Ray Dennison, I was very disappointed. The sales manager straight-out told me that if I didn't have something to trade, he would not sell me the Jeep. He said that they need to take in one vehicle for every one sold. (Unless I was a repeat customer.) In essence, I would HAVE to give up a vehicle that I can't, for the "honor" to pay $42k+ to buy a vehicle from them. I understand used vehicles are at a premium right now. I just don't understand why they would give up a sure sale over the fact I'm not able to get rid of our back-up vehicle. read more

I looked at a Trailblazer on the 18th of March, kept in touch with salesman everyday. Told him I would be in on the 22nd at 4PM to purchase and I get a call less than 2 hours before from the "manager" Mike Hamer to tell me they sold the vehicle. That is extremely poor business and will never buy a vehicle from them ever. The manager Mike which is the nicest I can call him tried to get me in another color, that's not how it works. Wow worst experience ever trying to buy a vehicle! Low trade in offers! High prices on their cars! And no budging on prices either way! I have purchased 10-15 vehicles a car dealerships through Florida and Illinois and have never seen such a mess. There was no bargaining, no DEALS. Just a horrible situation. The salesman was friendly I will give then that. And I was a cash buyer, I took my business elsewhere and purchased a car the next day. The dealership I went to did the exact deal that I was trying to accomplish. Except that the car I ended up with (same model and year) had higher sub model and less miles. The dealership I bought from started their trade in value exactly how much I wanted to get. My last statement is by going somewhere else I got a better car with less miles for $4000 less than what this dealership tried to sell me. Just take that into account before buying here. I attempted to do business with this dealership and was very close to singing a deal but the employee I was working with was very unprofessional. When it came time for me verify my income and submit a paystub, he requested that I send it to his personal email address (which was a very kid-like address) and to make matters even worse, the email address was to an AOL account. I have NEVER worked with an establishment (that have taken themselves seriously) and been requested to send my personal information to a personal email address. There should be a professional email address that the company utilizes for ALL customer engagement. He also said that I could take a picture of my paystub and text it to him. LOL! You have got to be kidding me!! In addition, the business representative became frustrated when I no longer wanted to sign the deal because the terms of the loan were crap. He attempted to throw in my face the amount of "favors" that were conducted. I don't care about that. He also started to make insulting comments about my mother (who was also involved in the transaction). No thank you! You will not be receiving any of my business. Think twice before conducting business with an organization who don't even take themselves serious. They should certainly take some notes from well-run and managed Chevrolet dealers. read more

Not happy, my son who had his car services three weeks ago had his car service to fix his switch in this ingintion.. They said they fixed it, his car stops running when it on, called them told them that it was still not right. Had to have it towed, now they want hundreds of $$$ to tell me what wrong Really. My Wife and I went to Ray Dennison and couldn't have been more pleased with our car buying experience. Do yourself a favor and ask for Chris Kamp. He was very easy to work with and was very knowledgeable about the cars we were interested in. The great thing about our experience is how laid back it was there. We didn't feel any pressure at all to buy and they gave us a fair price on our trade-in. Buying a new car is always stressful, but Chris made it as painless as possible. Worst experience I've ever had with a car dealership. Their salesman ensured me that I had a two week warranty so if anything were to go wrong within the first two weeks of owning the vehicle I would be able to return the vehicle or they would fix they issue. Within the first two weeks the Nav went out to include the USB being not functional at all. In an attempt to resolve the issue I was told that their salesman cannot offer that warranty because it doesn't exist, therefore I was lied to. Following that, my rear differential literally exploded which was a $2,500 repair and the volume knobs no longer work in the vehicle. So within the first 8 weeks of owning the vehicle, the Nav, volume controls, touch screen, and rear differential went out. I let the salesman talk to me into this and I shouldn't have. That's my mistake for allowing his persistence to win. The only real issue I have here is that within two months of owning this car I have had several thousand dollars worth of problems and the dealerships way of fixing it was " our salesman shouldn't have made you that offer of the two week warranty because it doesn't exist and we will try to help you but not for free." I'll never step foot in this place again and neither will the rest of my family who have shopped with them for years. Extremely frustrated with their use of lies as sales pitches and their unwillingness to right their wrong. They should be ashamed to have salesmen on the floor making unbacked guarantees to customers. read more

Decided to give Dennison's one more try. Went and looked at a car and couldn't agree on a price. They tried to sell me another car. I told the salesman that I only wanted to be approved through one loan company and they said no problem. I was approved. The car I was looking at had 46,000 miles on it and when I looked at another dealer they had the same car with 20,000 miles on it for only $1000 more. Dennison's wouldn't budge so I told them to forget it. Then I started to get phone calls from other car loan companies and started getting stuff in the mail too so they didn't listen to me and had a bunch of companies run credit checks on me that hurt my credit from too many inquiries. I will never buy another car from them again. read more

I was very pleased with my experience this past Saturday in buying a slightly used car. I went into the dealership not sure of what car I was looking to purchase. At first I was considering a SS, but then noticed a very fine example of another sports car that I ended up purchasing. The whole experience was very professional and helpful. My salesman was Chris Kamp who is a real car guy. His specialty is Corvettes but is also knowledgeable about many cars and trucks. Be sure to ask for him. We both negotiated to a fair price and then they hand washed my new car. They took pictures for me and made me feel great driving away. I would definitely return for another car or truck and ask for Chris. I hope you experience is as good as mine was at Dennison. I was fed some bs on why a part(exterior door handle) integral to the operation of the vehicle was considered 'trim', and therefore not covered by the very expensive warranty I purchased. I was charged $33 for a 'diagnostic' that told me no more than I had told the specialist when I dropped it off, and that they spent about 15min performing. I was then given an obscene quote on it's repair. $250 for a part I bought for $65 + 1 1/2 hrs labor.($120/hr. Wow!) When I expressed my displeasure to the receptionist when I picked up my truck about all of that, plus the lack of documentation on the oil consumption test that was also supposed to be performed, she assured me I would get a call from my service guy, Aaron. Never recieved a phone call. A shockingly piss poor experience in every reguard. Ray Dennison won't recieve another penny from me, or anyone else that can convince to go elsewhere. I purchased a 2016 Chevy Silverado High Country 1500 early this year. I really enjoy the vehicle. It's the best Chevy truck I have purchased to date and I have bought several Chevy trucks. Brought the vehicle in for its first oil change and tire rotation. When the vehicle was returned to me, I became very upset. Approaching the vehicle, I found oily hand prints on the door, front finder, hood, and door handle. When I entered the vehicle I found an oily steering wheel, door handle and smeared grease on the door panel. With this type of service, I thought I had better check the wheels and sure enough, 2 of 4 chrome wheels had been damaged by the technician prying off the center caps with a screw driver. I'm sure this dealership has the capability to provide excellent service, I just hope they learn from their mistakes. read more

This buying experience was the worst I have ever had in purchasing a vehicle. Scott Saver was very knowledgable about the vehicles I was interested in but in my opinion spread way too thin and trying to handle too many customers at one time. This resulted in a longer than normal wait time to get the purchase completed and a lack of attention during a very important large purchase. I spent over 8 hours in the dealership in one day which included test drives and determining which vehichle would work for the payment I was wanting. However after making this decision in the first few hours I spent over 5 hours waiting for the financing and then the bank closed so I had to leave and drive back the next day which was a 3 hour round trip. The second day I spent another 3 hours waiting in line to get the paperwork signed with the Business Manager but finally was able to drive off in my new Tahoe. But it didn't end there, received a call a few days later from the dealership saying that in during the second day of paperwork signing the lease document was not created properly and therefore a new document would need to be signed along with the sending a check for the forgotten first month payment that wasn't collected during the visit. read more
