There's a good mix of health-conscious dishes to meat-heavy or cheat day meals. The drinks list also impressive and features everything from house-made sodas to protein shakes and mango lassies. You would be hard pressed to find something you DIDN'T love here. The staff are super friendly and very efficient. It was my first visit here but I can't wait to return.

We both had delicious burgers at a great price, with cheap African beer and amazing hot chips. When we went back to the dealership it was closed. The drive was still worth it for the burgers alone. They could serve to go a bit more upmarket (serving soursougwh rather than plain white loaf for toast for example) however I haven't been there for a while, and they seem to be continually developing the menu. On my first trip I sampled the slow-cooked lamb sandwich with sweet potato, rocket, mustard and caramelised onion. Great combination of flavours and very filling. Not a bad latte, either. On paper, all of the choices sound fantastic- One friend got the Egyptian breakfast beans, smoked eggplant, labna, fried egg with flatbread while the other two of us got the Mushrooms, feta, avocado, poached egg, salsa verde with toast. The Egyptian breakfast was unbalanced and had too much of a vinegary taste for any of our liking, while they forgot to include the avocado in the other breakfast (yet still charged us for). The shining star of breakfast were the fresh pastries- perhaps come here for one of those or else hold off for lunch?

Inside isn't as bright and is more subtle, with couches and pictures and drawings. It's adorable. However, my family and I were here for the first time and have figured we aren't returning. While prices aren't too high, serving portions are disappointingly small. I tried the "USA" which was three palm sized (or even smaller) pancakes with bacon, some butter and a tiny bowl of maple syrup (photo attached). My family also were disappointed with their serving portions. The "English Breakfast" had mushrooms, sausages, bacon, eggs, baked beans but only two palm sized toast slices. Although we felt we waited quite long to be served, the waiting staff were kind and informed us they were learning so we understood that.

On a quick getaway to Wollongong from Sydney (decided at 4pm Friday to drive down for the night) we…read morewere stuck for a place to eat. Came across Kneading Ruby (separate review). We had to wait over an hour for a table for 2! So wondered down the lane and came across Humber Bar. What a great find. The multi level bar had a great relaxed vibe. It had a mixed crowd they were mostly young but to be expected on a Friday night. We were shown to the rooftop bar, as they were at capacity downstairs. It's not a tall building and you are dwarfed by other buildings but there are no windows looking down at you and it was a comfortable spot. Ordering is done through your phone at the table. Simply scan the code, pick what you want, paid through Apple pay and drinks arrived in minutes. Since we were hungry and had about 90 minutes to wait (9pm dinner) we ordered some fried cauliflower (good) and hand cut chips (bad/soggy and greasy). The cocktails were average and i would have been better off going for a beer or 3.. Overall a great venue but could use a bit more attention to detail in their food and cocktails. The service was friendly and i could have happily stayed for hours but had to move on to dinner. A summers evening would be brilliant on the rooftop bar.

Had the coffee smoothie, was also disgusting. On the bright side they play decent music and the atmosphere is nice. So one star for the atmosphere and another for the Villian fries, which could have used more sauce or layer of cheese so you're not left with plain soggy fries at the bottom. Summary: Coffee smoothie a letdown, cheeseburger a grainy, flavorless letdown. Wouldn't come back. Wouldn't recommend it.

I feel a bit torn writing this review! I feel like the food was good enough to warrant a 4 (maybe…read moreeven a 4.5) but the service was... meh. I stopped in here with my husband for breakfast before catching an early train. We each grabbed some mango coconut banana bread, and I had an avocado banana smoothie, and my husband got a cappuccino. Both the food and the smoothie were great. Like really, really good. My husband was satisfied with his coffee as well. Another plus was the location (literally across the street from the North Wollongong train station, how can you beat that? Especially right before a long train trip!). In terms of looks and decor, the place was average. The place itself is quite small, but I suppose most people just come here to grab food before their commute and that they don't actually need a lot of space to sit or anything. But yeah, the service was definitely lacking. I couldn't say they were outright rude, but I put a high value on good customer service, and I'd label theirs as passable but not really pleasant. When I stepped up to order, I saw some smoothie flavours on the menu that were blocked from view before, so I stopped in the middle of my order & asked for a sec to check those flavours (which is good cos I ended up ordering that really good smoothie!). I swear it took all of 15 seconds for me to look it over and decide on something, but the guy at the till acted like it was the BIGGEST inconvenience in all the world, even though there was only 1 other customer in the cafe. All 3 of the staff there seemed tense and kind of negative; the atmosphere inside was not very pleasant. Just not very friendly or welcoming at all. That said, I would go back here again and suffer the glare of the unfriendly staff for more of that mango coconut banana bread. It's a place worth going to :)
