We've used Rattle N Roll ever since our son was 8 mos old and we have loved our experience with Carrie. We are so thankful we found her!

Our 13-month old son attended Take-A-Break for a week as a trial. He loved it so much, we're…read moreenrolling him full time. So far, we love: - getting photos, updates, and teacher communications via the app - he's napping SO much better here than at his previous daycare (sleeping baby = happy/healthy baby = happy parents) - he's really comfortable with his teachers and fellow classmates already - lunch is provided (we pack his lunch, but I like having the option to switch him over in the future) - the kids, parents, and administrators are so friendly and happy (D'Arla even texted me pictures of our guy and checked in in him his first few days!) - it's VERY safe: I love the checkin/checkout policies and procedures (they are SUPER intuitive and safe) - the hours are flexible: as a dual working-parent household, we love that the center is open for ~11 hours/day. We would never want him to be there for that many hours, but we LOVE the flexibility the hours provide. AND they don't shame parents, no matter what times you pickup/drop off (our experience at our previous daycare) - bonus: they take credit cards (yay, points) and you can set it up to pay tuition automatically (as parents, we have so much on our minds already)! I'll update this if we have any other feedback, but big thumbs up in the meantime!

She never once cried when I would leave and this was her first time ever away from me during the day - I think that speaks volumes about this place! The owners D'Arla and her husband Tom are the kindest people. You can tell they're a big reason why this place always feels so happy PLUS they provide all meals so you don't have to bring anything with you - big score! I really can't say enough positive things about this place! Take your kids here!

My toddler has been attending this daycare/preschool for a few months and we couldn't be happier!…read moreHer teachers have all been wonderful (shout out to Miss Lizeth and Miss Chelsea!) and the management team is supportive and great (shout out to Dominic and Desiree!)

Before I begin, I would like to preface noting that our child is a toddler. One who has temper…read moretantrums and cry's/screams, as many toddlers do. She's probably at the more difficult end of the spectrum, but still within the normal range of toddler behavior. We Sent our child to TLE for ~ 6 months. Initially she seemed to really enjoy herself and would willingly go. More recently, we noticed a change in her demeanor- she seemed way less happy and even despondent looking. We decided to remove her from TLE and try another environment. The new daycare also noted there was another child who recently moved from TLE who had a similar experience (and the thought that something may have happened or something was not right). We emailed TLE to let them know our child would be leaving. The content of the email was not at all hostile and was very concrete and polite. We never received a response, which we thought was bizarre, but continued to give them the benefit of the doubt. When we went to grab our things from TLE, they acknowledged receipt of our email but did not offer any additional concern or even a "sorry it didn't work out". We thought this was super weird at the least, and borderline creepy. In summary, we're glad we went with our gut and switched . I realize others may have completely different experiences and would not base your decision making on this review alone. We had a positive view of the staff up until the last few weeks, and this is one case from one parent. The lack of follow up was pretty disheartening though, and the primary reason for my review, as you would think members of the caring profession would at least care to ask about the child they cared for for a reasonable amount of time. We understand there are staffing shortages everywhere, covid is not making things any better, and childcare is one of the more difficult jobs around. However, this is our story and I figured it was worth sharing.

I've been playing hockey at the rink here for at least 10 years. Both the league and pick-up games…read moreare better run than other programs that I've participated in. Yeah, they've been up and down over the years, but the consistent trend is constant improvement. For the money, there isn't a better deal for hockey anywhere nearby. Members get drop-in hockey at no additional charge and league games at very reasonable prices. I brought my son out to the learn-to-skate program when he was three. When it turned out he wasn't quite ready (which he proved by sitting on the ice crying for 30 minutes), the skating staff cheerfully offered him a free session when he was a little older. Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. I've always felt secure leaving my son with the child-watch staff. They even were kind enough to watch him for an extra fifteen minutes once when I didn't realize my hockey game went beyond their closing time. The weight room is also very nice with a fair assortment of free weights complimenting a solid number of weight machines, treadmills, stationary bikes ellipticals and such. There is also a good sized gym and indoor running track. Of course the Y offers a number of fitness classes as well if you're interested in a little motivation. In all, I'm very pleased that I found the Y after playing at other venues for years. I was disgruntled by the way programs were run at nearby rinks, but I wouldn't have found the Y if they'd done a better job.

A Warning for Parents of Neurodivergent or ESL Children…read more My experience here was traumatic. If I could give zero stars, I would. We attended before my son's autism diagnosis, and he was treated with a shocking lack of empathy. The owner actually called me to claim my son had a 'medical tic'--which was actually just a self-soothing raspberry-blowing behavior he only did when he was extremely stressed by their environment. I witnessed systemic neglect: children who spoke English as a second language were left to sit alone without interaction, and toddlers were left to sob inconsolably after drop-off with no comfort from staff. I actually had to step in and hug a crying child myself because the teachers wouldn't. Most concerning was the lack of respect for parental boundaries and age-appropriate care. When my 3-year-old was nervous about potty training, I requested he wear a pull-up for one day to build his confidence. Instead, the staff spent 30 minutes of his school day forcing him back into underwear against my explicit instructions. Unless your child is neurotypical and requires no emotional support, stay away. This is not a safe or inclusive environment.

I love the balance of outdoor time, art, music, social emotional learning, and gentle exploration of academic learning. To top it off, there is a great community of kind families each year!
